I finally finished my Day 7 assignment for PSP. Here is my Community Cat Crew, including the elusive Black Beauty, who is new. The title font is Dingo Nursery. The papers are from Jessica Dunn. Everyone but Batman is scheduled for TNR (Trap/Neuter/Return) towards the end of May when there's room at Tara, the rescue vet. They'll also get their vaccinations and parasite treatment. I think at least one is possibly pregnant but we have over 2 months gestation so we may catch it in time. My Brandy was in the same boat. I'm not sure about Beauty as he/she appears to be a full adult and even someone's lost pet since he/she wants to get in the house and be petted*. Definitely not a fearful feral. I have put him/her out to the local Lost Pet website. We'll see what happens. *My 3 indoor cats would object to a visitor.16 points

Trying to catch up. Here is Day 5 - Affinity Diamond Template, but I duplicated the row of pictures and changed the rotation of the journaling paper. Elements and papers from Lynn Grieveson’s Sprout Kit. From Cassel: Alpha-Maker Script (Freebie) DateStamp#8 Script Font: Dancing Script Here is the original paper I used for the Title and the Button. I adjusted the color of both using Layer Adjustment (HSL). This is the original Transfer, for which I changed the Blend Mode to Luminosity.15 points

Day 7 using Affinity Photo. I continued using my friend's photos of her amazing road trip through so much outback country. I have enjoyed using Affinity Photo as I found so parts a little easier than PSP. I still feel that both of the programs will complement each other. Each of them has items that I love to use. I would love to have time to do this workshop with PSP as well, but I have my daughter coming to stay with us for a week. This is so exciting for us all.15 points

Day 7 - In anticipation, I decided to use some of my garden flowers from last May. The large background and the flower backgrounds are from Adobe Elements which was use to extract the Iris flowers. The large photo is of one of my clematis growing on the vines in my flower garden. The scalloped background is my own from the papers workshop and recolored for the circles. The font is called "Bureno Regular" from CF.15 points

Lesson 4 - PSP Photos are mine. The crow is sitting beside the sun. It was the summer of wildfires and the sun was a white orb in the sky that you could actually look at, very surreal. the original color is actually a desaturated brown but I changed the color balance to give it blue hue to match page, Fonts are: Carmina Blk BT (title) and Castello Signature. Probably from Creative Fabrica, one could be from Google fonts that came with FontBase that I use. I hope to get to the last 3 lesson this week, but it's a busy one with a big (to long ongoing) project that will finish by Sunday.14 points

Template 5 Diamond Affinity 2.6 A couple of years back, I stayed at a lovely cottage near the coast. The decor interested me, and I managed to snap a few photographs of items that appealed. Kit is Jessica Dunn's Coastal Spring papers with her Nantucket Feeling elements. The paper strips were colourised using colours from the striped paper. Fonts are Castella and Billie Olivia14 points

Day 7, I finally got finished! This was a bird feeder at one time and then the cats came along. They decided it made a lovely place for an afternoon nap. It's on a pole so they have to jump from the deck railing to get in it. The bottom is screen so they get lots of air and shelter if it happens to be raining. They are Shadow, Whitey (all white except for an all black tail, Eclipse, Patches and Shiner. The font is Harrington, The background and clouds are from CF, the pics in the circles are mine and I made the butterflys in AD. They are actually made with the letter B! Thank You Carole, this was fun to do!12 points

Template 7 Affinity 2.6 These two little sweethearts are a friend's grandchildren, Poppy and Ruby. Poppy was so happy to hear she was getting a new baby, she happily gave up her nursery and helped redecorate for her sister. Kit is Billie Irene's Collected Curiosities 2, and the fonts are Kirsten ITC and Scarletta Script. I think this is the last one for me. Thank you, Carole for the fabulous tutorials, templates, and comments. It has been amazing seeing everyone's wonderful ideas.12 points

Some days he drives me crazy, but he's still my baby! The butterfly is from MarisaL pretty things kit. The papers are all from CF and the font is Cat Paw that MoniqueN suggested (Thank You MoniqueN!, I love it).10 points

Thank you, Julian. The Iris is one of my favorites, especially the dark purple one. I love the one you posted and am going to look for a bulb or one similar. Do you know the name? I have a friend that works at a garden center and will ask her.9 points

When I first saw the photo I felt that it wasn't real. Unlike Albino birds which are caused by a genetic mutation. In other words albios are lacking in melanin, the pigment resposible for dark colours. Many colours, such as orange hues in plumage can come from pigments in the food that they eat. Not the case in the Snowy Owl, as their diet soley consists of mice, voles, rabbits and the like. Snowy Owls have very little melanin.Which mean they can not change colour. The Snowy Owls white plumage, with barring is a natural camouflage for their habitat. I doubt this colouring is the result of genetics, in my opinion humans have played a part somehow. One of my recent Template workshop layouts was about Melanin and Keratin. By the way this Snowy Owl, is a female8 points

I have stopped responding to all the posts, there is way too much and I wasn’t checking on a daily basis. Being with my family is far more important in these weeks I am away. Three weeks is so short and coming Tuesday I am already flying home😪. Congratulations to you all for the great and very different layouts you did and making it through this workshop. When I am settled back in I have a lot to catch up on and I have a whole bunch of new flower photos to use. Carole I’m sorry to hear we will need Affinity Designer as well, for me buying that one will have to wait until it will be offered for a reduced price. My trip and some new appliances at home have been enough for now, but I will watch what you will be showing. See you all soon!8 points

Lab 14 Mod 2. Requirements: ink dot paper - I used a pink paper behind it and used the blend mode Luminance and so the ink dots are pink; Irregular Text Stroke - the title. The font is Arial Black as was suggested. The picture is of my grandmother (mom's mother) taken in 1953 and she was in her 70's (late 70's). It is my favorite snapshot of her - in her kitchen in Upper Michigan - a wood stove which also kept the kitchen warm - and she used an old fashioned iron to iron clothes - it was not electric, but was heated on that old wood stove. I remember also the chickens she kept and would kill one (an old hen) on Saturday and cook it on Sunday - our Sunday dinner. She had 7 children and the middle son stayed home - never married - and took care of her and grandad. the rose at the corner of the picture is one isolated from a group by Creative Fabrica. I see that the ink dots paper doesn't show up so well. I will post the paper separate.8 points

With so many wonderful posts in this thread (nearly 400!), I have not been able to keep up. I couldn't participate this time. But I'm getting back (slowly) to a more normal pace of life. So many things going on with family issues, all rather time-consuming and exhausting (and completely beyond my control). I somehow have held the opinion that layouts need to be happy and upbeat (flowers, butterflies, unicorns, etc.) to celebrate all the big things in life. But I see layouts on many sites and, while many are like that, others are more mundane, and some are quite sad or soulful as they express darker emotions which are part of daily life too. Everyone who has posted in this Workshop has done a great job. You've sure kept Carole busy keeping up!8 points

Knowing how you love Scotland, I thought you might be interested in this new book coming out by Alexander McCall Smith. Here's the writeup: The Winds from Further West A Novel by Alexander McCall Smith From the beloved author of the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series comes a dazzling and uplifting novel of new beginnings and endless possibilities, in which a slew of personal and professional disasters cause a young researcher to upend his seemingly stable life in Edinburgh and move to a remote island off the Scottish coast.8 points

Sue I agree with you and I can see myself using it more than psp, it makes one’s workflow so easy and fast. Although I shall use much of the things I made before and import them as needed. I have all my abr brushes imported in Affinity too; I always keep the zipfiles.8 points
