  1. I have been working on this collage for my grandson. He sent me the pictures that he wanted to include. I made the hearts and the arrows and used a lot of techniques learned in the Travel and Magazine workshops. The background was made using the plug in gmic. The original size is the poster size 24 by 36 and will be on canvas from Easy Canvas.

  2. In the spirit of Halloween, to make this goofy creation, I used Carole's "Freaky Filters" masterclass as well as her ghost tubes, with some CF Spark png creations. "I'll get you my pretty"

  3. I do live in an area with lots of trees for gorgeous autumn colors. My neighborhood was built up from an area we have always called "the woods". Over the years I have taken many photos both in my neighborhood and elsewhere. Last year I did a whole album called "October Daily" with photos of the changing trees throughout town for 31 days. I planned on doing it again this year but will have a couple of days with no photos of the colors because of being in the hospital. Although I do include my birthday since that happens in October so that is one of those days... happy birthday in a hospital bed! I do have multiple photos from the morning before my surgery that I could use for the next day when I was still in the hospital. Right now I can look out any window and see green trees, yellow trees, orange trees and trees in the process of changing! Also, lots of leaves on the ground. The trees started changing early this year and that means the leaves also fall earlier!

  6. I started playing with Vision FX. Uses some memory, but gave nice results. One minor thing is, when you choose one out of five, that's the only one you can Save. It is save and close. See screendump. Because you have to close the plugin, I tried it again with same image and prompt, but got other results than the first try. Typical AI programming !!! An dthere is no manual available, but we have the corel forum and there you can find a some explanations about the use of the sliders.

  7. I feel lucky to live in the Mid-Hudson Valley, NY, where our autumn trees are a big draw for the tourist trade. The "leaf-peepers" travel long distances to view our spectacular fall color palette.

  8. I will start the ball rolling, with a coincidence. I frequent Danielson Provincial Park, to cycle, hike or snow shoe, the trails. The Trans Canada walking trail also runs through the park. Today I went for a bike ride, taking the camera with me to take some colourful shots. Mother Nature didn't disappoint either. The Park is a 20 minute drive away. You can also see Lake Diefenbaker. Where I love to kayak the many isolated bays. This shot is a Panoramic shot.

  9. I finally found the beautiful fall tree photo layout from Warwick that I did.

  10. My mother wanted oak trees in the front yard. However, realizing that time was growing increasingly short, I talked her into two fast-growing maple trees. In their third year, these rich colors confirmed that fall was at hand. During my time living on the North Shore of Massachusettes, color exploded all around. Although there is no comparison, these beautiful leaves say, "I'm home."

  12. Sunrise sometimes creates a beautiful red hue over the landscape. If you aren't quick, you'll miss it, as it only lasts around 30-90 seconds. My trees out back, and my garden shed.

  13. I loved The Wizard of Oz! Since I've been "shrinking" as I've gotten older, I keep telling the kids not to throw water on me as I will then disappear!!! LOL

  15. We also have the four seasons but at the moment it is still mostly green, the first trees are starting to color. Due to the very hot temperatures and dry periods we have had this summer, a lot of trees and shrubs have shed their leaves which were brown, dried and bristle and did so already in July and August. I haven't been able to take new photos yet, so the following are from 2 years ago because last year I just had my hip replacement operation and couldn't go more then around the block where I live and on crutches. Both photos are taken around the neightbourhood along a street and a little square. And I tried to do so without getting parked cars, pavement and traffic in the shots.

  16. The series is set in Ireland, produced by BBC Northern Ireland. I'll say no more! Look out for it next Monday evening, once you have watched it, you'll appreciate the title of the drama. Typically Irish.

  17. One of my favourite Autumnal shots, take along the shores of Lake Diefenbaker, at Danielson Park. One of my favourite masterclasses is all about paper and element templates. All the papers used were created using those templates. For the frame I used several borders, and a selection of the photo, copied and paste into selection.

  18. Matthew is giving it to Lane for her birthday. He will also be having it framed. The site had frames, but we thought it would be better if he could go to someplace like Michael's and pick out his own frame. I made the arrows and the applied a blend mode. I think the glitters are from deeezy.

  20. I changed the font for the main text Heading. As I didn't like the font used for the font challenge. Although it isn't Halloween themed, it is a very seasonal, appropriate page, for this time of year.

  21. Yes, I did it. my first attempt to cut a letter into pieces and fill. For the first time, I just used a gradient in different directions and gave it a bevel.

  22. This font isn't one I would have chosen myself. I can see that it would appeal to some for a particular Halloween project. Halloween has never appealed to me, probably because it isn't that popular at home, certainly not when I was growing up, as it is in North America. I wanted to participate in the challenge. I edited some of the letters to my liking, added leaves from another font. The letters A and E, I resized, moving the letters before them closer, by changing the text to character shapes. Inner bevel. Photos were taken yesterday. Background paper is a photo, 2 overlays, and a texture.

  23. I already did a Halloween layout for the theme of this month. We don't have a long tradition of Halloween festivities, nowadays it is more common, but it doesn't appeal that much to me. The grandkids are in the States and they of course participate. If I was there at this time of the year I would take a lot of photos, but over here no.... The Witch Mystery font however is a nice one and I used it for this layout featuring the "Windmills of Kinderdijk" (Netherlands), a Unesco World Heritage Site. Funny enough my cousin, who came along, and I, have never been there! We have both live not very far away from Kinderdijk, but as it is with things that are nearby we never got there because we thought: oh we can always do that. So last week we went to see those mills for ourselves and had a great day with fantastic weather and being offseason it was not congested as it can be in the summer. We didn't have to wait to take the little boats that ferry you along the 19 mills that are there. I have photos of the inside of one of the mills that we could visit, may I use those in another layout. Oh and all the mills dating from the 16th century and up are still in working order. They are designed to pump the water out of the canals to the river to keep the land dry and the other way around. Nowadays there are 2 pumping stations that do the same with electric machinery and the mills are a backup system. For this layout I used template Lab 12-11and 4 of the photos I took that day. When we arrived, it still was a bit hazy and I used one of the hazy photos as a background, copied it and the used the blendmode Burn which made it more like a silhouette, but not as black. Then an overlay called Windy Pastels (Inky deals) with the blendmode Difference. I was trying different overlays to get something interesting and I like this result, it gives a sort of painting effect. Some embellishments from my stock and the other font is Aura.

  24. Autumn can be colorful in many places. Do you live in an area with colorful fall trees? How about sharing a quick photo from your neighbourhood? Let's chat.

  25. As far as the weather is concerned, it has indeed been a strange year and much too wet. Not nice spring weather at first. Then much too dry in the summer. and now much too hot for the time of year. This was always reflected in nature.

  26. Photo 1 was taken in the park close to my home today. Unfortunately no color explosion here. Only the chestnut tree turns a bit yellow. Some trees have already been blown dry. Photo 2 was taken on July 5, 2023. The northwest of the Netherlands was hit by storm Poly. In the small town where I live alone, 600 huge trees were blown down. Thousands and thousands in the rest of the area. They broke off like matchsticks. The storm lasted only an hour and a half. Police, fire brigade, people from the local green team as well and volunteers work hard together to get the roads passable again. And to this day, not everything has been cleared up. It was about 10 o'clock in the morning when the storm was at its worst. Our alarm app was blaring loudly. STAY INSIDE IT IS DANGEROUS OUTSIDE was the message. A woman was killed when a tree fell on their car. My neighbors had a solar panel blow-off.

  27. Oh my goodness me! The first airing of Poldark, was back in the mid 70's, I remember it well. I was a teenager back them. Robin Ellis and Angharad Rees. I idolized them both. As for Endeavour Morse, They chose the prefect actor to play that part, in Shawn Evans. Also a very fitting role for the journalist, is Abigail Thaw, the daughter of John Thaw. There wasn't a detail left out in the production of Endeavour. John Thaw would have been very proud, had he been alive.

  29. When you mentioned Morse and Endeavour, my heart skipped a beat! The very closing moments of the last episode of Endeavour just blew me away. I think my first PBS binge was 'way back with the first Poldark (Robin Ellis). I was hooked from then on. I still miss Alistair Cooke as host.

  30. They are both good series to watch. As are Grantchester, Professor T, Unforgotten, and so many more on PBS. Which is about the only TV I watch. No cable, just antenna, but close to Michigan so lots of channels.

  31. Susan I can only repeat what I replied to Cristina's comment. If nothing else, some of my pages may inspire you and others, to do something similar.

  32. Cristina, you are always so kind. Although the little details are subtle, they do make the page stand out, which is why I like add them. Of course I have Carole to thank for me being able to do such little things, as without the campus (tutorials etc) my pages wouldn't be as interesting for the viewer.

  34. I like them too, they look so real. And I like that the frame they are tucked under is a little off kilter (crooked) and the photo is a little lifted. It's those little details that elevate the layout. Aren't they a delight to discover?

  35. I took a pass too. But now I see what it does, it's cool. Still, it's at the bottom of the list for now. I will be excited to see what people make from it though.

  36. Sue, another beautiful page... And repeating myself, I love to observe every detail, like one of the admission tickets below the frame.

  37. Well Susan! You saw what I was trying to achieve. Movement! I watch the leaves on the trees and on the ground, as the wind blows them in all directions, until they settle in their final resting places. Like myself, you do more than merely look at a page, you interpret what it's trying to saying.

  38. I love what you did with the word "leaves", the 'L' and 'E' look like gusts of wind swirly the leaves around.

  42. Still working on it. I guess this is about midway in the total trip. We are now in Wyoming and will be there for a couple of days. The campground is 7000 feet, and with my COPD, it is pretty tough breathing at first. Second day I felt better and went with Joe and Laurie to some of the places they went to on this day. The flag and seal for Wyoming is from the web and the curvy road sign is from Pixel Scrapper (also the 2 rv's on the concrete road).

  46. Here is another one. The sign post was ideal to be placed in the small snow drift., rabbits in close proximity to the white tailed hares prints, same for the deer, as Antelope had passed through the yard earlier that day. With the right photos, they work well with clip art to create a page.
    1 point
  47. Carefully choosing one of my photos for the background, I then added some clipart to create a card. The prints in the snow are either from the white tailed hares or other resident four legged creatures. Placing the dog where some print are visible. No one would be any the wiser who made those prints.

  48. Happy October! I love Halloween, and wild cats. Here's my October Wild Cat Calendar featuring Sushi, the Fishing Cat. There's a full-size version on our Facebook page that you can print @ 11" x 8.5". I do one for my refrigerator door. LAYOUT DETAILS: Info from: SMITHSONIAN'S NATIONAL ZOO Fishing cat | Smithsonian's National Zoo 2023 Calendar Template from Cassel Fish and Halloween Witch illustration - Pngtree Title font under photo and journaling- Agency Fishing Cat photo of the recent rescue, Sushi, from The Wild Cat Sanctuary in Sandstone, MN I find it hard to read the journaling on the reduced-size version here so I'm posting it separately: "The Fishing Cat is one of the largest of the small cats. This robust, deep‐chested cat has a body length up to 45 inches and stands over 16 inches at shoulder height. The adult male weighs up to 31 pounds. As their name suggests, they swim, dive and fish for food. Their body is ideally designed for under water movement and their toes are partially webbed. These cats "fish" at the edge of bodies of water. They appear to scoop their prey from the depths of the water and have also been observed playing with fish in shallow water. Fishing cats are native to southern Asia. Their conservation status is listed as VULNERABLE, mainly because of habitat loss due to encroaching civilization."
