  1. I have made another layout for day 3 and 4, but I incorporate the different day-tutorials in my layouts. I simple call them by the subject inside the layouts. So this is the one I made for my one day in San Francisco before we went on the plane to Phoenix. I'm going to use date stamps on all layouts and will try to post them later. I made the papers and used different techniques and textures like blinds, halftone; overlays too. The color palette I used for my first 2 layouts is called mineral tones and the fonts are Impact, Bilderberg and Arial. For the coming layouts I intend to use a different color palette, because the photos have very different colors. For all the text and arrows etc I use the colors of the states I'm in.

  2. Days 3 and 4 - Badge and tag in situ for the time being. Will reposition at the end when I finish off the page or may put on a second DPS with lots of photos. The video for the leather tag was handy. Thank you Carole.

  3. I have not finished my pages, was busy to make papers from some photos and playing with datestamp scripts by carol and the leathertag script here are some of them

  4. I took my first two layouts and used the open book script. I didn't have that option the last times I took this class. I think it looks good. It is posted at 1200 px wide for this forum.

  5. Here is Travel Tale 3. The Hat really enjoyed meeting the knights that handle security at the fortress and also the good looking models (mannequins) at the store. I think it is time I shall give the hat a name. How does Mr. Red sound? Font is Anberta, Date stamp was made by following Carole's tutorial (I need more practice on that). Photos are mine, Background colors were picked from photos. I do not have the Dozi's grunge brushes and her website does not have them listed. I used the marble 2 brush as someone here recommended, than you! Sty tuned for more Travel adventures from Mr. Red.(a.k.a. Mr. Hat).

  6. These are my Day 3 date stamps. The first one was simply following the tutorial step by step including the "aging." In the second one, I actually used one of Cassel's preset gem shapes and kept it "new."

  7. My Day 1 started on Monday - I thought I'd managed to get 2 pages done today, but nope. I had a lot of problems but it's done. What's more, I'm sure I've taken this workshop before, and while I was doing it I had my doubts: did I use the same trip???? It's too late to go through the 4 pages already posted. I'll do it tomorrow. And finally I had to reopen my psp - my work wasn't light enough ?

  10. I definitely am late in getting out of the "start gate"! I know this isn't a race, but it has felt like that for me. I am really not sure, but I have the trip that Joe, Laurie and I took back in 2021 in the RV to visit family in the north and west of us. It was a great trip, I found that I can't take the heights and I am definitely a mountain girl more so than the beach. Oh, Well! I take it easy and am able to do some things. This album will be longer than usual since we had so many places we were going and I am definitely going to do more journaling. I usually journal whenever I take a trip. It does help when designing the album. All the elements and papers are mine. The 2 elements at the lower left corner and the upper right corner came from Marisa Lerrin at Pixel Scrapper. The font is Britannic Bold.

  11. I forget where I am and what day it's supposed to be! Here is the date postmark and leather tag. I did what Ann did and read the directions instead of the video. I didn't really like what I came up with, so I used some "real" leather instead. My only decision I'm not sure of is whether I might prefer a larger white base with rounded corners.

  12. Here are two datestamps I did with scripts for Lesson 3. And here are two tags I made for Lesson 4; the flag of Canada and the CN Tower in Toronto. I'll add cords or chains when I know where I'm placing them. @Cassel I followed the written directions in the email and didn't watch the video until after these were done. The technique in the video is completely different from what I did. ?

  13. Whew, it was hard to use all those layers. I was tempted to skip a couple of them, but then it would not have been right for this challenge because it says to use all of them. One problem I had was with that many layers going ( I guess I should have reduced the picture file sizes before using them) I wound up with such a large project that my PSP 21 program was taking forever to do anything . Even when I just clicked on (file save as or resize image etc. it was taking so long I though it was frozen. When I was about to give up on saving it as jpg so I could post it, I finally just left the program run while I did some chores and when I came back later I was able to save it. Yes, Penny is my nickname and Tom is my hubby of 54 years.

  14. 15 years ago one of the girls on a scrapbooking forum I was a member of was getting married. I was a good friend of hers and was invited to the wedding. Another member was a bridesmaid and yet another was the photographer. I took another girl as my "plus one". I don't remember who started it but someone suggested we make "stick people" of other members so that they could attend the wedding. A photo of each person was sent to one of us and they were attached to fudgsicle sticks and showed up at the wedding reception! The bride loved it and we had fun with it. 12 of the forum members sent photos, some were of the whole family and others were just the individual. By the end of the evening, some of them were being used as hand held fans since it was a late August wedding!

  17. Here is my Travel Tale Day 2. I took me a while and my PSP kept freezing up and I had to start all over, but I finally made it. I used some items from Creative Fabrica and Digital Scrapbooking. I had some issues with drop shadows on 2 of the smaller pictures, but still had a lot of fun with it. Ann Seeber asked me about the Red Hats. Thus is the quote on line: "The Red Hat Society is a worldwide membership society that encourages women in their quest to get the most out of life. We support women in the pursuit of Fun, Friendship, Freedom, Fitness and the Fulfillment of lifelong dreams. Our signature red and pink hats symbolize a movement of women determined to celebrate every stage of life.

  18. Day 3: During the time my grandson was in Southeast Asia, he played rugby with the Bangkok University rugby team and with a team of his friends who played a tournament in Laos and Vietnam. The pictures are some of the ones that he texted me. I used some elements from a Marisa Lering kit featuring sports. The background papers are my own. The rugby ball pattern was made with cass seamless script which I love. I made the passport and the visa stamps. I liked Anne's idea of making it a book. I am way behind since for the last two days I have been dealing with printer problems.

  20. That is a possibility if you are sharing the same Microsoft account and have all the computers sync. I have different preferred settings for my desktop and laptop (like background photos etc) and when I set up my new laptop but used the same Microsoft account and it was set to "sync automatically", everything on my desktop changed to the setting I had on my laptop. Once I turned the ability for it to sync off, I have had no problems. So if your husband has sync set up and he uses one drive, it may be why yours is doing it as well. I would look into that but I'm not an expert so can't say for sure that is what is happening. I still prefer to use either DropBox, an USB drive or an external hard drive to transfer any information between my computers. That way I am in control.

  21. I am SO terribly sorry that I had gone "Missing In Action", real life came in and interrupted my play time yet again! Late summer is quite a busy time on the farm, whether I like it or not! HaHaHa I have a lot of catching up to do indeed! So many new & wonderful creations! This community is certainly a great source of inspiration to me. ❥

  22. @Corrie Kinkel What a beautiful layout for San Francisco! ❤️ Brings back memories for me from when we were visiting my California family. I loved it out there and truly enjoyed the bridge, the trolley, Fisherman's Wharf, the Ghirardelli Chocolate display and the Tea House in the park near the Presidio. You are inspiring me to get working on the rest of my Toronto layouts as I have a ton of photos to display. I like your fishy ribbon, I recognize the fish as a Tube. Well done!

  23. •✿• How I loved reading this! My property ( even the crops ) have MANY praying mantises & stick bugs (Phasmids). The Mantis is crucial to the crops as they kill the grasshoppers that can destroy everything it lands on. If you want to attract the mantis, plant dill! I believe that is why I have as many as I do. Some cultures see them as a sign of good luck & fortune. We can all use that! Many Native Americans believe that they came before the creation of man as well. Very beautiful in my opinion. But the stick bugs.. EWWww! For some reason they bother me unlike the mantis. They walk quite creepy, jerking their bodies as they move. I freak out when one lands on me! HaHaHa The ladybugs! @Julie Magerka Your layout is lovely! I love ladybugs! Crucial to the crops indeed. I don't use harmful poisons that in turn contaminate the soil, thanks to them. I have to keep an eye on some certain plants in my veggie garden though, as some plants are their favorites to eat (Like my beans, spinach and carrot tops). I find them in the house quite often too, but thankfully, I have never been taken over by them. I enjoyed this conversation! Thank you! = )

  25. A little late, but here's my Day 2. My trip was in February 2002 and people were still very rattled so soon after 9/11 (as you can well imagine). Some of them told me not to go, but I said, "If I don't, they win."

  28. DAY 2 - LEFT HAND MAP PAGE - 3 Photos: Ripley's Aquarium Canada; The Pink Floyd Exhibition at the Canada Day Fair; my 2 travelers showcasing the Toronto harbor with the CN Center. (There are two different shots like this; the other has the city skyscrapers out the CN 360 windows. I suspect the backgrounds were changed but the women remained the same! ? ) This map was treated to a soft light layer effect. I snagged the Ripley logo and used multiply to place it on of our photos. I used various metallic gradients on the photo frames. I used Cassel's Datestamp 13. I'll probably be adding more elements later in the class as I recall we get to create some that are appropriate to the trip.

  29. Day 2 I needed to look up how to make parts of the template into masks but did so in the end for the photos. That same thing-'practice makes perfect!' I didn't need to do a trail of where we had been as my journey was from England to Oludeniz, Turkey however I must admit I likewise found the instruction to layer the routes difficult to understand should I have wanted to do trails here and there. This is when a video of how it's done comes in handy. I think it's just me though, not grasping the idea, not your instructions, Carole!

  30. A VERY big thank you to Ann, I am now able to at least share a bit of what I created! ❥ Day 1 I haven't been outside of the farm in ages. So I chose a vacation that I have dreamed of since I was a little girl, Fashion Week in Paris! I spent countless hours with my Auntie, watching all the fashion shows & cutting favorites from magazines, to save in a box for future inspiration. We would frequent our most treasured fabric store to touch and feel the newest trends, all the while dreaming it was me that was to model in those lovely dresses and my Auntie and I that would sew them. I was no more the model than a couture seamstress, so instead, I clung to my roots and farmed instead! HaHaHa I am so used to making my projects at 3600X3600 and though resizing, not having to watch the actual file size. I went just a little too far on this first day, that I had to lower the quality by quite a bit. I added the original to my Photobucket HERE , if you would like to see the original size & quality. (I will place all my regular sized files in this folder from the Campus, so please feel free to take peeks as you wish). * I have been using challenges and now these workshops as well, for compiling some of my better pieces, to show in my new shop. This allows me to get 2 tasks done at the same time, and in it, saving much time. Fonts used are: AdornS Condensed Sans & P22 Typewriter

  31. A drizzly day today, after sorting through some photos, I decided to showcase some of them. I'll do the same with the Robins and Wrens. The birds will become mature adults, when they grow their breeding plumage next year. The juvenile is just starting the moult, they always start with the head feathers. This year I had 3 pairs of Orioles, that raised 5 young ones. As you know I feed home made blueberry jam, and put out other berries which are going off. Created the labels, for the one I used a font swirl, which looked rather wispy, like the feathers on the fledgling. Carole's tatting tubes. Decorated the frames with heart fonts, and inner beveled them. The background paper is a photo I took of leaves on a tree. The mottled look I used was a technique that Carole used in one of the Christmas masterclasses, and then again in the border mania masterclass. I like to use the stencil technique in the creative scrap, which creates a similar technique

  32. Corrie, that SF LO is stunning! WOW! Every little detail is perfect from the foggy background to the keyline frames to the colors you chose....just brilliant! Michele, I can't believe it, but you just reminded me I forgot to finish my circular date stamp with the distressing! And after I went to a lot of effort to get that Dozi stamp! Aurgh! Where is my head? Anita, a beautiful LO. I always wonder how you (you for this LO, but also others') got the store to comply with using one of their mannequins. I can never con them into letting me do something like that! I also like the Anberta, font and am going to look that up right now.

  35. @Susan Ewart I too love clocks and bird cages! Thank you for your best wishes! I can't wait! @Michele I will make layered templates indeed! I I want to try quick pages as well as clusters, for those times that we run out of time, or lack our artistic creativity! Thank you as well, for your best wishes! @Ann Seeber Thank you so much! I too chase the alphabets! They were the first thing I went in search of when I started my collections. I will try to include them in most of what I do, as I have some really great fonts to work with! Again, thank you so much, gals! Your input is very much appreciated! ❥

  36. Hi, Back again. I watched the Q&A from August over and over. What I had seen was on 20.10 min. and 55.45 min. But I found my answer already. By watching your hands very well. (First, open the vector layer by the little icon triangle and click on the second layer where the 'vector property' opens). This was what held me in the vector workshop. I can do that workshop again I suppose. Apparently, that is my way of learning, better than just writing. Not only in PSP but also in knitting, crochet, cookery, bakery, etc. Since we have video clips everything is much better. Please show more of what your hands are doing in the next Q&A. You help people like me a lot with that.

  37. Years ago, I watched friends who flailed around and flapped their arms and screamed....and I thought, I don't want to do that. So I have rarely been stung or bitten b/c I just sit quietly and don't move much. I have no intent to harm them, and I hope they can sense that. Sue's wonderful philosophy is something I admire and respect.

  39. Never fear, that's the beauty of PSP, you can always change the photo. As katydids are also large and a beautiful foliage green, and will blend in perfectly with the colour scheme you used. The true katydid is the famed singer of Katy did, Katy didn't. They are also called Longhorn Grasshoppers. I have several species of them here, all of which I have macro shots of. I'm sure there will be an opportunity for you to use a Katydid in a project. It really wasn't my intention to put a spanner in the works with my initial comment, as I did think it was a lovely photo of foliage, and then got the 2 insects mixed up.

  40. @Donna Sillia I am glad that you are benefiting from the Campus and the membership. It always motivates me to continue in that way. @Lynda DiGregor It looks like a wonderful vacation place! @Suzy I tracked down Doris (dozibaer) and the brushes. You should be able to download them HERE. (Donna's link didn't work for me) @Gerry Landreth Those clues make me smile! Do you still have that game? Where did you get those clues? From memory? or a screenshot? @Anita Wyatt Although a whole organization would be too much, it would be fun to find something for all the Campus members to photograph! Maybe we can start our own fun movement! @Michele It is a fun way to display text in the background! @Ann Seeber The Toronto stamp makes me smile... as a Canadian, I obviously recognize all those items! @Marie-Claire Poncho's trip!

  41. I think there is a big difference between "Learning Python" and "Learning to script using Python". In the scripting course, only "useful" stuff is taught, while in learning Python, unless you are a programmer, a lot of things are totally unrelated to PSP and scripting (I tried that too). So hopefully, nobody's head will explode! LOL

  42. Whew, sorry I'm late in answering this post. I'm taking the scripting course and I think my head imploded at the new language I'm trying to learn. Here I thought I understood English, but it appears I dont. haha. Thank you for your suggestions. I did deadhead my other flowers and I will do so...with a very tall ladder...on the mutant sunflower. 2 are mutants and almost taller than the peak of the garage and 2 are smaller. Among them are some other "mutant" plants that are huge but came with mystery mix in the package and are yet to grace the yard with flowers. I wonder what they will look like. I have some Zinnia and Cosmos that have made many flowers and I did them from seed early in June (as I did with all of them). May is unpredictable and can be very warm or very cold and snowy...and the snow in the backyard is just finishing melting in May. Next year I will start seeds inside and thin them like it says in the instructions. it rather looks like a jungle in the space in the back yard. I did lots in pots too, that way I can move them to get the sun or the background I needed. Sadly, the neighbours cut 2 very large trees down and I lost all the lovely shade that works great to have black background with the flower in the sun. It's being a challenge as my two trees arent filled in enough, so there is some dappled areas in the photos. sometimes if the stems are strong enough I'll shoot them in my studio under constant light so I can control the light and background. but mother nature is a better lighting artist than me and has better, stronger equipment in her arsenal, so I employ her when I can. I have yet to learn how to use bulbs in planting but will try next year.

  45. Day 1. I'm a little late starting mine but am focusing on a holiday to southern Turkey this year.
