Day 7 using Affinity Photo. I continued using my friend's photos of her amazing road trip through so much outback country. I have enjoyed using Affinity Photo as I found so parts a little easier than PSP. I still feel that both of the programs will complement each other. Each of them has items that I love to use. I would love to have time to do this workshop with PSP as well, but I have my daughter coming to stay with us for a week. This is so exciting for us all.

Lesson 2 of Templates class for Affinity

Day 7 - In anticipation, I decided to use some of my garden flowers from last May. The large background and the flower backgrounds are from Adobe Elements which was use to extract the Iris flowers. The large photo is of one of my clematis growing on the vines in my flower garden. The scalloped background is my own from the papers workshop and recolored for the circles. The font is called "Bureno Regular" from CF.

Trying to catch up. Here is Day 5 - Affinity Diamond Template, but I duplicated the row of pictures and changed the rotation of the journaling paper. Elements and papers from Lynn Grieveson’s Sprout Kit. From Cassel: Alpha-Maker Script (Freebie) DateStamp#8 Script Font: Dancing Script Here is the original paper I used for the Title and the Button. I adjusted the color of both using Layer Adjustment (HSL). This is the original Transfer, for which I changed the Blend Mode to Luminosity.

Lesson 6 Affinity

I finally finished my Day 7 assignment for PSP. Here is my Community Cat Crew, including the elusive Black Beauty, who is new. The title font is Dingo Nursery. The papers are from Jessica Dunn. Everyone but Batman is scheduled for TNR (Trap/Neuter/Return) towards the end of May when there's room at Tara, the rescue vet. They'll also get their vaccinations and parasite treatment. I think at least one is possibly pregnant but we have over 2 months gestation so we may catch it in time. My Brandy was in the same boat. I'm not sure about Beauty as he/she appears to be a full adult and even someone's lost pet since he/she wants to get in the house and be petted*. Definitely not a fearful feral. I have put him/her out to the local Lost Pet website. We'll see what happens. *My 3 indoor cats would object to a visitor.

Template 5 Diamond Affinity 2.6 A couple of years back, I stayed at a lovely cottage near the coast. The decor interested me, and I managed to snap a few photographs of items that appealed. Kit is Jessica Dunn's Coastal Spring papers with her Nantucket Feeling elements. The paper strips were colourised using colours from the striped paper. Fonts are Castella and Billie Olivia

So Pretty @Donna Sillia ! I especially 💖the iris. I used to live in an apartment next to a lady who was an iris breeder and planted her lovely unique iris around the parameter of our building. Ones like this:

Sue I agree with you and I can see myself using it more than psp, it makes one’s workflow so easy and fast. Although I shall use much of the things I made before and import them as needed. I have all my abr brushes imported in Affinity too; I always keep the zipfiles.

Hi! I am working in Affinity now. Have started the lessons over. papers: cpjess-dandelionwishespaper, THD-WeddingBouque(Feb25DESBT) recolored background paper and text letters to match blue in jacket I felt like Affinity was working better for me.

Day 5. I have messed with this one a lot, and I'm still not quite happy with it, but here it is. Trax is my baby, he's 15 now. He had some issues thru the years and he is deaf now. Some days he drives me crazy, but he's still my baby! The butterfly is from MarisaL pretty things kit. The papers are all from CF and the font is Cat Paw that MoniqueN suggested (Thank You MoniqueN!, I love it).

Thank you, Julian. The Iris is one of my favorites, especially the dark purple one. I love the one you posted and am going to look for a bulb or one similar. Do you know the name? I have a friend that works at a garden center and will ask her.

I used Carole's template and papers. Changed the colors with Adjust/Hue and saturation. The book pngs came from Freepik https://www.freepik.com/free-photos-vectors/book-png This is a very old high school still, in service. The Jimmy Hendrix quote is on a rock by the school

Day 6, Diamond template. Ann and Maryann came to the beach with friends where they spent the entire weekend being royalty. During our weekend, they were pickleball queens.

Day 7 - About 8 hours north of Perth, Western Australia is the Shark Bay World Heritage area and the beach is made up of billions and billions of tiny shells up to 10 metres deep and extends up to 100 kms long. Not one grain of sand can be found there. Photos are mine and resized do not do it justice as the beach is massive. The background paper I created with a grunge overlay some time ago and the disk paper is actually a lino paper we made in another workshop and recoloured. The sea gulls were in my collection and the font Carrington Posh. Shell Beach is one of only a handful of places on earth where shells replace beach sand in such a dramatic and picturesque way. The beach stretches for more around 100 kilometres with shells between seven and ten metres deep. the beach is made up of shells from just one type of animal, making it truly unique. These shells are the remains of the Shark Bay cockle, a mollusk that thrives in the hypersaline waters of the area. In years gone by, the shells were hard packed, cut into blocks and used to construct a number of historic buildings in the nearby town of Denham. Thank you Carole for this Workshop, and for the suggestions you have made on my projects. I am now going back to revisit and make corrections. The layouts have all been amazing and I have enjoyed looking at the photos, reading the stories and being amazed at what has been produced. I have tried several times to quote a response to comments on my pages but it freezes up my pc for some reason, so my apologies for that.

Template 6 diamond Affinity 2.6 This photograph was taken one evening in the hills overlooking my area. I have used Janet Kemp's Elegant Autumn kit and the fonts used are Mocha Cherry and Mocha Cherry Inline.

With so many wonderful posts in this thread (nearly 400!), I have not been able to keep up. I couldn't participate this time. But I'm getting back (slowly) to a more normal pace of life. So many things going on with family issues, all rather time-consuming and exhausting (and completely beyond my control). I somehow have held the opinion that layouts need to be happy and upbeat (flowers, butterflies, unicorns, etc.) to celebrate all the big things in life. But I see layouts on many sites and, while many are like that, others are more mundane, and some are quite sad or soulful as they express darker emotions which are part of daily life too. Everyone who has posted in this Workshop has done a great job. You've sure kept Carole busy keeping up!

Wow, that takes me back to my trips down the shore in Jersey. I always loved the coastal decor! Beautiful! ❤️

It is the same here in California and I didn’t expected it to be this cold. I am told by many people that last week it was the coldest spell they had for a very long time. I definitely have not enough clothes with me for this type of weather and am wearing many layers with some borrowed sweaters from my daughter. Luckily it is getting warmer for the rest of this week.

That's what I plan to do as well... work through all the lessons in Affinity

Carole, our feral cats get food and a nice shelter. I can't pet any of them, but at least they don't usually run from us. For ferals, they are spoiled!

Frame is what I thought of too, but also a pattern for a paper. What does it look like with a bevel. Or debossed (sorry, I forget the graphic term for that look -recessed into the paper). It's a superb and 50's -ish look to it that I love. I have one I want to replicate from the handles on the freezers in the grocery store. Funny where the places you get inspiration.

Today, the site loaded quickly after so many days of being slow.

It is but you would get all the updates that makes it 2.6.2 I'm pretty sure that is how it works. There should be a chat you can ask about that on Corel's site. Mine still says 2.0 but I have all the updates to what is current.

I went to the affinity web site and i see they they have 3 products - designer 2, photo editor, and publisher. It's Designer 2 that everyone's using, right?

Day 4 using affinity2.6 Photos are birthday cards I have made for Family Members over the years, paper pixabay, I changed the colour .

Template 4 Diamond Back at Gethsemene Gardens, where we see the Ark, and some of the animals on the Ark. I wasn't sure how to deal with the brush in this one, and knew I would probably use it as a mask, and using the blend mode of Pin Light. The kit is Jessica Dunn's Autumn Bramble from Curio Pantry. Fonts are Believe in Yourself and Beauty Sabila Script

Day 6 using Affinity Photo 2. More photos of my friend's trip. These are of South Australia seeing the Paddle Boat of the Murray River and a beautiful sunset at Burra.
