  10. Thank You Donna for getting me started with bevels! I noticed yours have rounded edges. How did you do that? I had a heck of a time learning how to select the boxes to add the bevel. I eventually figured out the boxes needed to be filled with a color in order to put a bevel on them. I tried filling the boxes but it covered up the numbers. I eventually made two copies of the boxes with dates. I filled one copy with color and put the outline with dates on top so I could see both layers. Is there an easier way?

  11. Been working on organizing most of the topics I can think of and adding links to blog posts addressing them. I am surprised to see that almost all the topics ARE covered with a blog post or a few classes! That will make the process faster than having to write from scratch! Here is what I have so far: 1. Digital Scrapbooking Why scrapbooking? Why digital? 2. What is a scrapbook page? Parts of a page Supplies – what and where TOU Photoshop resources PSP resources Scrapbooking styles 3. 17. I'm just back from picking up my Calendar print job from Staples. I'm very pleased with it. The reproduction is outstanding and the price was under $25.00.It is for Jackie and Corey for Christmas and I'm going to add a paperback copy of the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency book by Alexander McCall Smith as that is how I got hooked on Botswana. Here's a photo of the calendar hanging on my wall.

  20. And finally, the answers you’ e been waiting for….it is a bad way to make cards, calendars and scrapbook pages. I think they get their money from printing maybe? Not sure. Everything looks like it was from 10+ years ago, and nothing that doesn’t already come with PSP (say a square, circle, hex shape) or that people on here couldn’t make themselves, after Bootcamp, and it might take a Diamond membership, LOL

  25. Your book is fantastic and it will look so cool when printed. It will be hard to equal this gift and I hope your son-in-law will appreciate it and love it because it holds all those memories to cherish for a very long time. I'll try to remember the idea of using a watercolor background in a photo album for my own future albums!

  30. Well, it was a bit of a saga, but I was happy in the end. I started Saturday placing an order online for my 13 page calendar with coil binding at the top on high gloss paper. After sending the files through, on Sunday, I think it was Susan who mentioned having to lighten them up, and I smacked my forehead and said: Self! Of course, they have to be lightened! I always lighten a print job at home but forgot for Staples! So I called and after a long wait found it was already printed and yes, it was too dark. So, consulting with the nice customer service, my order was cancelled, and I was advised to adjust the files myself and place a totally new order. No charge! So, I did that on Sunday, and it said it would be ready to pick up (only 10 minutes away) Monday at 8:30pm. Instead, I waited until Tuesday noon and went to the store. It wasn't even printed yet! While I waited it was printed and came out all askew, upside down and backwards. 😜 So, they did it again and got it right this time. I'm really pleased with the color quality. I had them add a coil binding at the top so each page could be totally flipped. Total cost was $22 and change. They are really rushed off their feet but very kind. 😊

  33. I just got my print job back from Staples. The camera flash left a bit of a glare. This is my completed calendar from the workshop which is a gift for granddaughter Jackie and her husband, Corey. I'm also including a copy of the book The No 1 Ladies Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith as a companion to the calendar as it inspired me in my research about Botswana. Jackie is a zookeeper and animals from all over the world are her passion. (The apple didn't fall far from the tree; just skipped a generation! 😉 )

  34. Julian, I used the cass custom calendar script which gives you a choice of what type of box that you want. I choose a rounded square preset for the box, rasterized the vector and add a color that I chose from my calendar page. The script adds the calendar boxes and then asks you to choose a text. It then fills the boxes with your chosen text. Whenever I watch a Masterclass or tutorial, I take note of what bevel Carole uses such as for flowers, paper etc. I then label it and save it in my bevels for future use.

  36. The tree was from digital scrapbooking "Christmas-Tree-Bauble-82464322" (it was grey and I turned it green.) The lights were the red button picture tube that I then turned to all white. The buttons are some I downloaded over the years and I did adjust some of them.

  37. What to do with buttons? This image sort of came to mind so has kept me busy tonight. I love to turn Dingbats into shapes and can do this using SS-making preset shape script. I don't know if you can still get this free script. Anyhow, I used preset shapes made from a window font by Kriss and Wildflower font by Muhammad Yafinuha. I suppose you can just use as a font but being as I have sooooo many, it is easier to find them as a shape, especially if I am likely to make good use of them. I coloured and shaded the flowers. I used button balls I made in Filter Forge over time as the flower centers. As I wanted to keep the background transparent, I used the print screen function, cropped it, saved it as a jpg and hopefully will look transparent. TFL

  38. My first idea for this Button Challenge was a Button Tree, but luckily I noticed Sue has already done one and I didn't want to do something similar. As you can see I emptied by button box and made a bauble with some decorations. I mostly used the picture tubes that are inside PSP but changed some of their colors to give it a more christmas feel. Their original colors are more suited for Easter in my opinion at least. The decorations come from my stash and are by Marissa Lerin.

  39. For the button frame I used the blue button picture tubes, which comes with PSP. The colours were to pastel for my liking, so I changed them.

  41. I have to admit, it isn't difficult to create a page containing the word COLD. Here on the Prairies the winters are brutal. There isn't a happy medium between Summer and Winter. It's either plus 35c or minus 35c. The Main top photo was taken on the 18th January of this year. The wind chill was -50c, with wind blowing at 75km. I was going shopping when I took the shot of the blowing snow. The other photos were taken in Jan and Feb of 2021. Embossed metallic element. For the round tag, I used one of Carole's special fonts for the outer decoration, wove the gold under and over for a different effect. Word art sticker I created for a previous page. Used Carole's free stacked wooden alfa again.

  42. I'm not completely satisfied with this one yet but the photo made me keep it down. Because otherwise the wheel and cart would remain hanging in the air. I have the impression that the boy stands in front of the whole rather than in it. So look even better for mock up and photo.

  44. As I have mentioned before, I plan on making a storybook with photos of my son-in-law and grandson as a "home-made" gift exchange this Christmas. I am still collecting photos to have enough for a story, and I have not yet, decided on how to display the photos (as is? with instant effect? extracted?) so I thought of trying another method, which is the OOB, as we saw in the class yesterday.
