Day 7 - Project 3
Three of my great-nieces sneaked into this exercise. As I scrolled through stock photos of colored leaves, I remembered these pictures from a couple of years ago. The eldest is Maggie, named after my mom and her grandmother, with Amelia and Ansley.
@Cassel I had forgotten about scary finger puppets! I think all puppets were scary until The Muppets came along and had us counting and eating cookies.
This is my Bingo and I choose bottom row: Translucent Tape, Glitters, Plaid Paper, Buttonhole and Rusted Background. After making all the elements I didn't felt very creative and used a template from Carole that I never used before while I have it for years. I choose a row that gave me the opportunity to make some elements that I never did before, the buttonhole and the rusted background. I'm not happy with that rusted paper, it is too overpowering. I'll have to try with other other papers/overlays and see what I get. This was difficult to combine in such a way that it made sense. But it was fun to do and I learned something as well.
@Cassel The snapping to guides didn't work right for me. I ended up placing a second guide to adjust the height. I didn't catch from the video where in affinity you adjust snapping properties. Could you please explain where those options are?
You created a beautiful layout. Typical of your style. It's my belief that there isn't a formal expectation to follow the tutorials meticulously. Saying that, in my opionion, the bingo is designed to either refresh forgotten techniques, or learn new ones, inspire and even encourage creativity. For me it gives me the opportunity to use elements, which I have created in a layout, which I wouldn't normally do. It pays dividends sometimes to work outside one's comfort zone. More importantly it is fun to participate.
