  3. Here is March and April. I'm not sure what type of background I want to do, I'm trying a desaturated hue and using the fading foreground with white. If I stay with this idea I'll add some kind of texture to it as well. I have not decided on a font yet.

  4. After many years of creating my own calendars, even before I joined the campus, that in my view I like layouts to be consistent with legible text throughout, as you never know who is going to view them. I have created several different shaped date boxes, personally I like the one that fills the lower half of the page, with rounded corners. Even though calendars are functional, I still like to make sure that the images maintian the main focus on each page. Wonderful pages submitted, each one a great source of inspiration.

  10. And we are grateful for Sue's eyesight! Saved my butt many times. Not to worry, there are several people in the campus with eagle eyes.

  11. Jan and Feb Thanks for the info on the line. I got one on the Feb calendar too. I don't even know how I fixed it, but I did. I'm just happy I had some time tonight to work on this.

  13. I didn't like the background for February 2, so I created a gradient with pale yellow and pale purple and used it for the background.

  16. I’m loving looking at all the wonderful calendar pages being produced – they are truly beautiful and imaginative. Hopefully I’ll get my first two pages posted later today.

  17. I like the idea of using the fading white gradient. Like you I will choose to use a subtle texture later on the background. Your photos are great.

  20. Sorry Carole, I didn't post the calendar with the fonts yet. I actually finished Jan using your Calendar script. The side picture is from Adobe Express. I added a mask to it.

  21. Here is February. I'm going to draw your attention to some minor pieces that have been left in the making of some of these templates, which require you to remove. They are small details, and can be overlooked. Donna and Jacques, I notice that there is line down in the bottom left hand corner which needs to be removed. Also Jacques you have a line going from top to bottom on the right hand side. I suspect you will need to activate the eraser tool, and one of the layers, possibly a layer in the mask to remove it. I'm speculating the photo you used. O Great work Donna and Jacques.

  22. Here is my march after days 1 2 3 I went with font am-intex for the first letter and Lucida Calligraphy italic (that I plan to make more italic but forgot to do that before saving it) for the rest. I also see I need to extend by lavender background a bit, or I assume that is why the left side is not right.

  23. A riding is an electoral district, also called a constituency. I presume the Canadians adopted this word from the British, more specifically from the English.

  26. Cheers! It's a sunset. Although I have and do use the calendar script, it's quite quick and easy to create my own dates/boxes. Carole demonstrate creating calendar date boxes and more in her Corel you tube video. I remember it because Carole uses some of my photos to demonstrate different layouts.

  27. I've had the same experience as Rene. I voted early and it was so much better than going on voting day then rushing to work or going after work when I just want to go home. It seems like the days of long line ups are over, but I do remember waiting in a long line up. I also worked at an election years ago. It was an interesting experience and paid very well too.

  28. We have early voting in Ohio and I went today to cast my ballot. I had to give them my ID, they verified that all information was still the same which I had to sign that it was on an electronic tablet. Then my ballot was sent to be printed on a printer across the room. I went there and was given my ballot to fill out (both sides). When done I was to put it in the counting machine where it showed on screen that my vote was counted. There was no line to sign in and several people were at the voting tables when I got there. I had 19 positions to vote for which included the 3 federal level government. The rest were state and county level positions. 12 of the state positions had no opponent, made it easy to choose! I also had a couple of local tax levies. It didn't take me long to make these choices. There was one state issue to make a change to the state constitution that I read through very carefully before making my choice. It took me maybe 10 minutes for the whole process. Glad I went when I did, there were people coming in the door when I left and a line was starting. Then I came home and got my mail which was election propaganda... which is every day! My recycle bin is getting full. I have voted early for quite a few years. The County Board of Elections is in my town and about a 5 minute drive to get there. Since I'm retired I can go anytime during the day and avoid the rush. I always hated standing in line on election day. At one time the election place for my precinct was in a township building which didn't have a large area for the poll workers and the line was always outside. Miserable if the weather was bad. It has been moved to another location which has more space but I've never voted there since I do the early voting. I honestly don't know how the signing in works on election day anymore. They used to have a great big book with computer printouts that they would mark your name off. You also had to go to a specific table (my township had several different precincts at that time, now it is 2) where they would have the specific ballot you needed.

  30. Here is a preliminary version of my January calendar for 2025. I decided to use the Nashville Zoo theme as my granddaughter, Jackie, is now a zookeeper there. She started work in September and she and her husband moved to Nashville, Tennessee. This is her first "real" zoo and she's thrilled! Her previous experience was at Claws n Paws Animal Park in Pennsylvania which can't do the breeding and official zoo activities that they do at this very large facility in Nashville. She has started in the Carnivore House and will rotate through the various habitats until she has experience in all of them. She has sent me lots of photos and some I gleaned from the zoo's website. The font for the month/year title is Aviation Cocktail. I added the days of the week. I had a .png for it I had used in the past for my Botswana wildlife and Downton Abbey calendar workshops. @Cassel these new templates are awesome!

  31. I think I may end up making 2 calendars. This is the January for the 1st set. I've added the year and made a separate image so that I can use it throughout. I also added the days of the week and saved it as a separate image. The Tolkein button I will use on each page changing the color to coordinate with the picture as I love this quote from Lord of the Rings.

  34. Thanks @Sue Thomas for the help. I am not very good at all that terminology. So, here is a summary for Canada (obviously, the names would change in different countries) Riding (or Electoral District): This is the main area or region in which voters elect one candidate to represent them in the provincial legislature. Each riding corresponds to a seat in the Legislative Assembly. Each riding elects one Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA). The provincial map is divided into ridings of about 15000 people, on average. (we have 49 ridings) Polling Division: Each riding is subdivided into polling divisions. These are smaller geographic areas within the riding. A polling division is the smallest electoral unit, and it determines where voters cast their ballots based on where they live. Each polling division has its own assigned polling station (or polling place). In the end, it is all counted in a riding. Polling Station: This is the physical location where voters from a particular polling division go to cast their ballots. There can be several polling stations within a riding, each serving voters from specific polling divisions. Again, it is just a convenient way to allow voters as it is all counted into the same riding total.

  35. I saw that, Monique, but haven't had time to fiddle with the letters. I think it is just the size of the F compared to the J in January. The rest of the word needs to be moved to the left a bit. I was also having trouble with the size of the letters. It seems they only work as pixels, not points this time. @Cassel is there a new issue with font size in PSP2023?

  37. This will be the third election where I voted by mail. Necessary in 2020 because of Covid but I find it more convenient now, anyway. @Cassel I don't know what a "riding" is. Here's what you wrote on your blog: "they would add the numbers for each riding." Is it similar to our city which is divided into Wards?

  38. It's all electronic now. Before then, we had curtained voting booths where we had to turn levers and once we opened the curtain back up, that was it. Voting always makes me feel good. I mailed in my ballot today! I'm getting a little too old and broken down to wait in lines outside in the cold.

  39. Thank you so much. It was fun. I had planned on using Mother Nature's light source (the Sun) this year but it was always so windy when I wasnt working, so in the studio I went and just played around. I have very mickey-mouse light set up, but I make the best of it until the day comes when I can get some good lighting.

  41. Your observation had me curious because I am using that script for my dates as well and I thought: oh my haven't I noticed that..... But strangely/luckily my dates with the script are in their normal places. Have you tried to run the script again, I know it is a lot of work but maybe it was a temporarily hickup! Stranger things with computers have happened 😢

  43. Here's an example of the strange effect from the mask group. I merged the mask/frame group and added a flowery paper as the background, under the group. As you can see, the paper ends up showing on TOP of the frame?? I decided to use a fill instead for May but I've used papers on my other months.

  44. PHOTO HERE simply means to activate that layer to add your photo (which will be pasted just above it). That layer does not contain anything other than black so that you can see the effect of the mask above it. You can change it to any color if you want to see the impact. I could have chosen any other color than black. It is just for "visibility" purpose. I am not sure what you mean by not being able to hide/delete that layer. I know PSP2023 has been a bit picky in that. For the title size, which one are you looking at? Mine show in Pixels. It should be 200 pixels, but you can also adjust that based on the font you will use.

  45. When using the custom calendar script, my day 28 is before day 27. I am using 2023Ultimate, and I also tried it in 2022Ultimate. I also checked my 2024 calendar, and the dates were correct.

  47. Please keep up the banter, it cracks me up. Every time I looked at the forum, and had another discovered mistake I laughed at myself. And when I got home from work and looking at the forum, I thought, how awesome you all have my back and saved me from looking like a fool. It's okay to be a fool, but looking like one, well, that's a whole other story.

  48. I am making a Thailand themed calendar for my grandson and his girlfriend as a remembrance of their summer trip. I made the background from one of my flower pictures modified by FF and a blend mode. The font is "Asian Pacific" from CF. The photo is from David taken in Thailand.
