Oh, you Fontaholics. I am a PSPaholic. Can't quit can't quit can't quit can't quit.......... Lab 13 Mod 3. Papers from my beach kit. I didn't like the distressed look, so I didn't do that part of the decorated metal charm. At first I didn't want to do any alphas in it, but I finally relented and did a few letters - enough to do SEA, SUN, FUN -- and I made a heart charm as well as the seahorse. The background paper doesn't show up so well in this size, so (as I took an existing paper and made it black and white) I will show the paper here and the heart charm.6 points

The paper and charm are gorgeous, Mary. had to laugh at PSP-aholic. I looked it up in the dictionary, and there was a picture of YOU! 😂4 points

I suspect Donna had no idea what she would start with her comment "I really think that I need to go to rehab for a font addiction". Also Susan when she created the certificate. Unfortunately they wouldn't let me stay in the program because I have no desire to be "CURED" of mu addiction. LOL The heart and couple are from the dingbat font Valentine dingbats. The signature is Bigtime. The reject is Alphabet tracing. The rejected for is one of the Arials.2 points

Julie a lovely page and I can tell you from experience that the start of such a project takes most time. When you have decided what the overall look and the colors will be it still takes time to get it to the standard you want but it nevertheless will be quicker to make.2 points

Sorry to be the bringer of bad news, but it is not all bad. There is no boss any longer telling you what to do or don't.2 points

What a great cast of characters for the film! Good thinking Susan.2 points

It most certainly is, they have one of the most beautiful of songs. Signaling the arrival of Spring, as they are one of the first birds to arrive in Canada. They are common in grasslands, singing from fence posts.2 points

In situations like that, if I'm understanding you right. I will create shadows on their own layer. Allowing me to shadow promoted selections independently. Even using different shadow settings. Of course you will then have to use the eraser tool to carefully delete unwanted shadowed areas.1 point
-
Unless I'm misunderstanding, try merging the different parts of the knot to one layer. I usually Merge Selected to New Layer then toggle off the visibility of the original layers. Then you can apply the shadow to the merged layer.1 point

I could not let the opportunity slip away and show off. 😁 And Michele was so creative with the wording! 👏1 point

Sorry to burst that bubble, but somehow the time gets filled with lotsa other stuff and there's not enough of it, just like when we're working. ☺️1 point

I have a very good up and download speed. It is so perplexing that it will work on one browser with the same base coding (Chromium) as the other one that it doesn't work on. Believe me I would prefer to use Edge for the webinars but it just doesn't work for me no matter what. Edge uses less resources on my computer than Chrome which is why I switched to it.1 point

This week I visited the Textile Museum in Tilburg with my cousin. The museum is in the original factory from 1870 and most of the more modern looms are in working order and produce cloth for tea-towels, napkins, tablecloth etc. You can see and hear them when they are working; the noise of 1 or 2 machines already is deafening and in those days the workers had no noise protection. It was an interesting day; we learned about the whole process from wool, cotton or silk to the end product. We both had been there 30 to40 years ago with our children but it was nice to see all the new exhibits that has been added over the years. Luckily there was a coffee corner too.1 point

I use Chrome and only clear my cache when PSP say so or works strangely. I have never had any issues and that goes for Edge too. I have installed them and they are good to go. But I know it has also to do with the network you're using and the up- and download speed of that network.1 point
-
I don't know that you could pin down settings for each of those browsers. It doesn't work for me on Edge but for others it does. It works fine for me on Chrome but others have issues. I don't use Firefox so have no idea if it would work for me. Edge and Chrome are built on the same underlying structure (aka Chromium) so why they work or don't work is perplexing.1 point

I would like information on the settings to use on Firefox, Edge and Chrome so that the webinar will work on my computer.1 point

I agree with you, but I personally haven't had any problems to log in, maybe it is in their computer settings or the network they are using. When the internetconnection is overloaded it can give issues too. Here at home we have a superfast connection and all our electricity- and internetcables are underground and we rarely have a fault. My family in California lives in Silicon Valley and there the electricity is frequently down which is a nightmare if you are working from home!1 point

I have only 1 screen on my big laptop and I can connect a separate screen but on my desk in our "computer room" as we call it, there is no space for a 2nd screen. Besides that, with my bad eyesight it probably won't work for me because when a screen gets bigger I can't see it as a whole and miss the overview. I use my Ipad if I want to follow a tutorial and work on my laptop. For me that's okay.1 point

WEEK 30 = SUN AUG 4 for me. I'm just catching up here! Still delving into the ancestry of my father's family in Ulster County. The original 1698 Bevier house on Huguenot Street in New Paltz became a general store and the Bevier's purchased farmland in nearby Marbletown. This home was quite an upgrade from the New Paltz original. This 1740 Bevier house is now a museum.1 point

Thank you Sue and there is a tutorial in the recent Lab14-5 that I had on my list of tuts to do. I'm so glad with your praise for that knotted rope but as usual when it gives me trouble to make the next ones will be way easier because I already made all the mistakes 😉1 point

Oh man, I was pinning my hopes on all this time opening up for me. Guess I better get better at managing it now.1 point

Susan I'm retired and I can tell you that it didn't gave me more time as such! Somehow my time always fills with so many things to do and this don't include housekeeping.1 point

Wow, knowing how long you worked on your album is reassuring. It might not take me that long (not as many pages), but I will be diligent.1 point

They refer to it as "plaquing". I try to use unveiling, but I don't even like that much. There doesn't seem to be a catchier or more pleasant sounding way to describe it. As you say, the word has the yucky meaning of stuff stuck on our teeth which the hygienist has to scrape off. 😬1 point

I see that you've changed your profile pic, Cristina. That's a good one!!!! 😄1 point

This is beautiful. Yes, it takes some time to do the project well. It actually took me 2 years to finish my Alphabet Soup album. So just stick with it. You have lovely ideas that come through in your layouts.1 point

Is the day called "Heritage Plaque Day". I know what you mean by Plaque...but I think of teeth and the dentist and that weird candy looking drop we got as kids that colored our teeth to show us where the plaque was. could you call it, "Unveiling our Heritage"? ... or something to that effect.1 point

AWESOME! It's better than I could have imagined! Great job and a big THANK YOU for all your work and your continued collecting of the Whole-y Font (PS...it's a religion, but I spelled it different so as to not step on any other religious toes) (PS2 'Whole-y' as in ALL the fonts in the world).1 point

Is their song beautiful? We don't have larks around here, and I recall from Shakespeare that they sing in the morning and that upset Juliet.1 point

OK, so I started with an idea (a bit of a scraplift). When I wasn't satisfied with what I was getting, i switched to something more traditional and used the white, blue, green that are colours associated with the group who sponsor the plaque project. I need something clean and quite simple to create other pages for the "scrapbook" I will be doing. But man, this is gonna take me some time if this first layout is any indication. BTW, I'm not fond of the word "plaque"; it resembles too closely "plague". Some elements I made, some came from a freebie from Annie C Digitals and some from Kate Hadfield Designs. The lady in yellow is 90 years old and enjoyed seeing her family name on the plaque. I know I need the Shadows Workshop.1 point

This is for all my fellow font-a-holics. Fill in your name, frame the certificate, and proudly hang it above your computer. Sorry it took so long, but I decided to start with a blank page. Several days, many errors, a bunch of restarts later et voilà! If you want the full-size jpg or pspimage, just let me know. 🙂 Hope you don't mind that I borrowed your logo, @Cassel. Some of you might recognize Cassel's Lace Edge 6 font on the outer layer of the frame; it can be used for more than just lace.1 point

Beautiful as usual.. Like a lot of others have said, I suspect I have the same addiction. However going to rehab would not do a lot of good sense I really don't want to kick this addiction.1 point

I do agree. It is the shadow that came with the lifted photo when I ran the script. I wouldn't attempt to do a shadow like this, maybe after the upcoming workshop. I wonder if something happened to it when I grouped it with the card and copy and pasted it into the layout. I will have to take a look at the orginal lifted photo layers. Thank you for the compliments on the T-cups. I had been collecting them for over 25 yrs, because they were so pretty. little pieces of art that I could afford. Now I'm trying to pick only my most favorite ones to keep. It's very hard to do. I managed to get down to about 30, but would like to get down to 12.1 point
