  1. Here are some of my old layouts of the colors of fall. Looks like I've been documenting them since 2011!

  2. A couple more. All layouts were done for challenges at a forum no longer around or for creative team work.

  3. I loved The Wizard of Oz! Since I've been "shrinking" as I've gotten older, I keep telling the kids not to throw water on me as I will then disappear!!! LOL

  4. I still have 2 native Aster plants with some flowers on. The little skipper turned up on the 10th October. I was pleasantly surprised to see, and be able to photograph it. Last night I worked on finishing off creating rectangle, and square frames using Carole's frame punches. Now I have all the punches framed, ready for use. I used one them in this page, also used the wood token 2 tutorial to date the page.

  6. In the spirit of Halloween, to make this goofy creation, I used Carole's "Freaky Filters" masterclass as well as her ghost tubes, with some CF Spark png creations. "I'll get you my pretty"

  8. I like what this plug-in does based on what you showed here. But at the moment I'll have to pass. I'm doing the scripting course which takes much of my time and when I should buy it I need time to play with it. Maybe later and in the mean time I like to see what you make of it.

  9. Nice to see you back Lynda. Hope this isn't a self portrait. ?. How's the new house?

  10. My mother wanted oak trees in the front yard. However, realizing that time was growing increasingly short, I talked her into two fast-growing maple trees. In their third year, these rich colors confirmed that fall was at hand. During my time living on the North Shore of Massachusettes, color exploded all around. Although there is no comparison, these beautiful leaves say, "I'm home."

  11. We also have the four seasons but at the moment it is still mostly green, the first trees are starting to color. Due to the very hot temperatures and dry periods we have had this summer, a lot of trees and shrubs have shed their leaves which were brown, dried and bristle and did so already in July and August. I haven't been able to take new photos yet, so the following are from 2 years ago because last year I just had my hip replacement operation and couldn't go more then around the block where I live and on crutches. Both photos are taken around the neightbourhood along a street and a little square. And I tried to do so without getting parked cars, pavement and traffic in the shots.

  12. Here is a picture of our big maple tree in the backyard, about 30 years ago with my daughter. She was about 3 at the time.

  13. One of my favourite Autumnal shots, take along the shores of Lake Diefenbaker, at Danielson Park. One of my favourite masterclasses is all about paper and element templates. All the papers used were created using those templates. For the frame I used several borders, and a selection of the photo, copied and paste into selection.

  14. Here on the prairies, for long lasting outstanding Autumnal colours, you need to look down, and not up. These are Native roses, which grow low to the ground.

  15. Template 200 by Lady 22, AKA, Bourico Casper. November 1, 2018...visiting my home State. This fellow flew to this spot on the boardwalk and we were standing right there. He (she) stayed a long time and enjoyed posing for photos.

  16. Lately, I'm watching several older series that I missed the first time around: The Good Wife, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Good Omens & Billions. I try to pick out a film for my Saturday night viewing: this week it will be "Spotlight" with Bill Murray as a crusading newspaper editor. It won the Academy Award and I've seen it before but it's so good it'll hold up for a second viewing. I'm also a fan of Endeavor and (the original) Professor T.

  17. Oh my goodness me! The first airing of Poldark, was back in the mid 70's, I remember it well. I was a teenager back them. Robin Ellis and Angharad Rees. I idolized them both. As for Endeavour Morse, They chose the prefect actor to play that part, in Shawn Evans. Also a very fitting role for the journalist, is Abigail Thaw, the daughter of John Thaw. There wasn't a detail left out in the production of Endeavour. John Thaw would have been very proud, had he been alive.

  19. Cristina, you are always so kind. Although the little details are subtle, they do make the page stand out, which is why I like add them. Of course I have Carole to thank for me being able to do such little things, as without the campus (tutorials etc) my pages wouldn't be as interesting for the viewer.

  20. I like them too, they look so real. And I like that the frame they are tucked under is a little off kilter (crooked) and the photo is a little lifted. It's those little details that elevate the layout. Aren't they a delight to discover?

  22. I started playing with Vision FX. Uses some memory, but gave nice results. One minor thing is, when you choose one out of five, that's the only one you can Save. It is save and close. See screendump. Because you have to close the plugin, I tried it again with same image and prompt, but got other results than the first try. Typical AI programming !!! An dthere is no manual available, but we have the corel forum and there you can find a some explanations about the use of the sliders.

  23. I feel lucky to live in the Mid-Hudson Valley, NY, where our autumn trees are a big draw for the tourist trade. The "leaf-peepers" travel long distances to view our spectacular fall color palette.

  24. Sunrise sometimes creates a beautiful red hue over the landscape. If you aren't quick, you'll miss it, as it only lasts around 30-90 seconds. My trees out back, and my garden shed.

  25. I will start the ball rolling, with a coincidence. I frequent Danielson Provincial Park, to cycle, hike or snow shoe, the trails. The Trans Canada walking trail also runs through the park. Today I went for a bike ride, taking the camera with me to take some colourful shots. Mother Nature didn't disappoint either. The Park is a 20 minute drive away. You can also see Lake Diefenbaker. Where I love to kayak the many isolated bays. This shot is a Panoramic shot.

  26. Well Susan! You saw what I was trying to achieve. Movement! I watch the leaves on the trees and on the ground, as the wind blows them in all directions, until they settle in their final resting places. Like myself, you do more than merely look at a page, you interpret what it's trying to saying.

  27. quote, I changed the font for the main text Heading. As I didn't like the font used for the font challenge. Although it isn't Halloween themed, it is a very seasonal, appropriate page, for this time of year. We must make choices in this hobby as well as in our daily lives. Subject, A theme, Colors, Arrangement. My first choice is always the subject, the most difficult one. Sometimes I use at the same time two windows beside each other and make them different. In all these years I collected thousands and thousands of scrapkits and single pngs. I've all the mushrooms in one file. Leaves in another etc. etc. And on top I've made color files. Then I open the organizer and make a choice. That's my way of working.

  28. Yes, I did it. my first attempt to cut a letter into pieces and fill. For the first time, I just used a gradient in different directions and gave it a bevel.

  30. I love Amazing Race too. They have a Canadian version too which is so much fun when they show places that are familiar. Last year, they even filmed right here, in town, and visited places I am vary familiar with. One pit stop was in Pokeshaw, where this picture was taken. It was right at the bottom of the picture, on the beach. I would drive by there twice a day when going to work. For the other reality shows, I like to see the challenges and such, but I am a bit annoyed with the drama. One show I don't watch is Big Brother. I have had it on, sometimes, while waiting for another show, but I find the drama too much and I don't like their challenges. I am not sure why.

  31. Thanks Susan...and no, she's much better looking! ? While the house is ready to move into, ComEd is not co-operating as they still haven't hooked up the houses in our cul-de-sac. City won't allow closings until the electricity is in and working. Not happy! ?

  32. Juni 10 2023. Or nothing happened. Just silent witnesses. Unbelievable what just one short storm can do.

  33. Photo 1 was taken in the park close to my home today. Unfortunately no color explosion here. Only the chestnut tree turns a bit yellow. Some trees have already been blown dry. Photo 2 was taken on July 5, 2023. The northwest of the Netherlands was hit by storm Poly. In the small town where I live alone, 600 huge trees were blown down. Thousands and thousands in the rest of the area. They broke off like matchsticks. The storm lasted only an hour and a half. Police, fire brigade, people from the local green team as well and volunteers work hard together to get the roads passable again. And to this day, not everything has been cleared up. It was about 10 o'clock in the morning when the storm was at its worst. Our alarm app was blaring loudly. STAY INSIDE IT IS DANGEROUS OUTSIDE was the message. A woman was killed when a tree fell on their car. My neighbors had a solar panel blow-off.
