  1. Here's my take on my animal visitors earlier in the week. The font (top and bottom) is Fredericka the Great that Carole sent earlier. The background photo was taken in Pine Island, near me; it's technically part of Warwick. The frame is from my stash, the camera is a watercolor from my Animal kit and the photo was conjured up by Adobe Express.

  2. Hi, I am really looking forward to this. I have used the preset shapes but this basically it. Thanks for the workshop.

  3. Hi everyone. Glad to meet everyone. This is my first workshop so I hope to learn something new in PaintShop I have been sorta using when it was put out by Jasc my first one PaintShop Pro 7 and have just been upgrading to all the new ones that have out there. I mainly use it to design my paper for making paper beads so this will really help me understand how to use vectors.

  4. Hi Everybody! Looking forward to another one of Carole's awesome workshops. I am not very adept at PSP or any other software for that matter, but I keep trying!

  5. I wonder if it compares to when I had technical issues in the live classes and sounded like Minnie Mouse!

  6. This weekend my town hosted their annual SunSplash summer 3-day festival with the usual activities and events. The weather, however, did not cooperate and it was more RainFest yesterday. Something new on the schedule was a Rubber Duck Race on the river leading into Lake St. Clair. The first three numbered ducks to make the finish line had cash prizes attached to them. The proceeds from the ticket sales were for Windsor Hospice. The local fire department hoisted a long ladder over the river and released 4000 rubber duckies to float in the current. I don't know whose tickets were the winners. I used a template from Merisa Lerin and hacked it up quite a bit. I didn't add frames to the photos b/c I think the layout is busy enough.

  7. Looking forward to refreshing my knowledge of vectors in PSP. I'm also trying to learn InkScape, to create more complex vector graphics.

  8. I am in too and looking forward to this workshop.

  9. I don't print all of them but have printed some and put them in a 3-ring binder in those plastic sleeves. Most of the ones I printed were about shadowing. I have also printed some of the creative scrap and lab tutorials which are not as many pages. Those are the ones that I do make notes on. I actually find that it is easier for me to follow along from a printed copy instead of a pdf copy on my computer.

  12. Are you guys making notes on a .pdf file? How? OR are you printing them, and making notes on paper? I ask because I’m not printing out a telephone book (the size of which all of Cassel’s .pdfs combined would be) but if I can make notes on a .pdf ….edit a .pdf…without buying renting more software, I’m super interested!

  14. I have actually considered compiling SOME Master classes' written instructions and making them into a printed book. That would obviously be for non-members (selling it on Amazon), but I wonder if it would appeal to "outsiders". And if so, which Master Classes? What do you think?

  15. I probably won't post much, but I'm excited to learn how to use vectors in Paintshop Pro. Although I now have the latest version, it's more different from 2019 than I expected. And vectors was never my strong point. Hope to see you all tomorrow.

  16. Yeah, I printed one or two and never looked at them! ? I've now become pretty adept at having PSP and the PDF open at the same time. My monitor is 30" wide so that helps.

  17. No I don't print them for the same reason as you, way to much paperwork! If I'm correct I did make notes on the pdf files in Word, but I haven't done so lately because I always forget that I did and on which ones ?

  18. I have 2 monitors so when I watch a video, I just use the 2nd monitor. But when I'm doing something I don't always want to pull up the video again so that is when the paper work is used. With my hearing issues I have a hard enough time with videos on regular speed, 2X would be like the Charlie Brown cartoons... wah, wah, wah! That's why paper is best for me!

  19. The contrasting photo and background work great. They are such cuties and the sign is hilarious.

  20. I use my iPad (to see the videos) and sing play along on my desktop. Then I turn and stop the iPad because I can’t go fast enough. BUT I already have a desk full of paper a foot high in most places, so printed .pdfs are out of the question. Have you ever listened to the tutorials on 2x speed? Carole sounds a little different! ? but they go nice and fast! ?

  23. Well I do download the pdf files and make notes on them, but most of the time I forget to look there, silly I know.....?

  24. I can no longer click on my bookmark for the Diamond area and have it show me as logged in. When I do login again, sometimes it sticks, other times it doesn't and sends me in a loop to constantly having to login. Sometimes I can get to the various areas in the membership and stay logged in, but most of the time I can't. I keep getting pages that tell me to log in if I'm a member or join if I'm not. Geesh... I hit submit replay on this post several hours ago and it wasn't showing when I came back. 2nd time this has happened to me.

  28. This afternoon everything was fine and now I have the same problem as yesterday. As you probably have seen I can comment in the forum, but as soon as I go to the Diamond section I'm asked to login and that I can join the Diamond membership if I wish so. At this point I don't see my photo and Howdie Corrie any longer. It seems my Diamond membership isn't recognized somehow. So the problem isn't solved yet and I'm still not able to follow the Vector Masterclasses!

  29. Playing with layers, cutouts, shadows, and Gaussian blurs. Sometimes creating something in the right dimensions for FB takes some work. The original painting is by Anna Ewa Miarczynska. The font is Black Chancery; I've had it so long that I don't know where it came from, but you can find it for free as it's in the public domain.

  31. Thank you, Susan. I love glitter, too. I made a set of them for my Build a Kit. Definitely look into Adobe Express which is free for now and has so many options. My gem glitters were actually made in Photoshop and converted to PSP. You can change their colors using the blend mode or hue and saturation.

  32. When my FB friends have birthdays, I have been creating files to post on FB. This is the latest one for my niece. All the graphics are downloaded from Adobe Express AI, except for the "fabulous" which is from a Digital Scrapbook kit called "all the princesses" by Melo Vrijlhof. The font is a free font called Moodtype. I am working on a way to convert this file to a quickpage. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  33. I found a wonderful editorial beauty photo shoot that I felt was perfect for the theme; model Kristy Kaurova and photographer Jamie Nelson. The font is Spac3 tech. I had a happy accident while making this. I originally created a frame with the background paper and added a cutout layer. While playing around with the layers, I hid the frame and ended up with this look. I'm probably not the first to use an effect like this, but I learn a lot from my happy accidents. When I find more time, I'm going to experiment with it more.

  36. Lab 6-12 Spinner Template Path Template Token This one is a record for number of layers for me. No, I didnt count (Does PSP have a way of telling me, I'd like to know). the nonsensical game board I made up had so many layers that I merged visible to a new layer and made it a flattened element of the layout. I had the problem of getting all the other elements on the page without covering the text -that I spent a lot of time doing so I wasnt going to cover it all up. The Spinner template and token were really rewarding to do. I will post those elements closer up, especially the token. How cool that tutorial is. Making the path template was easy. I did want the black frame lines and new if I added it on each one that the line between the spaces would be double. So i grouped them once I was done, used the magic wand to select the whole group and added the extra outline to the outside to make them the same thickness. The hardest part with the path was drawing the path itself. I must have done about 30 or more (undo got a real workout) tries before I settled on this one. This layout is a big image so not sure how sharp it will be for you to see. I used Digi Dewi Hocus Pocus Paper Wood-tan from Digital Scrapbook for the picnic table the game is sitting on.

  37. I've been working on Random Tubes from Lab 5, Module 10. The raindrops were generated from Adobe Express beta which is a free program. I'm still tweaking it.

  39. This theme is another rerun from 2016. I had originally found the title back then; I removed the background and tweaked it. The closest I could come to matching that font was, believe it or not, neon machine from Dafont. I was lucky enough to find a watercolor silhouette of Africa from Seekpng that shared the same colors on the background for the dancers.

  40. This is really nice Julie. Great choice of papers and elements. I love blues of any kind. That building is really cool looking, love all those windows. As to the Labs, that's the great thing about so many of them available. You get set your own course through them. Forwards, backwards, from the first, from the last or bouncing around...doing them in any direction (or no direction at all) is all that counts. They are great for getting experience with PSP and they are in nice short tutorials (less overwhelming) so you have success. I get the "no mojo" thing. That's why I got back into the Labs. After the QP workshop, I had no idea what to do, it made me feel quite restless, yet unmotivated. I guess I really am "project driven". And believe me, the ideas for layouts dont come easily. Sometimes I "see" the vision right away (this is rare). Other times it's days trying to make one work and still I abandon the layout. Having a template available is really helpful to get us making/creating layouts despite our lack of creative energy.

  41. Lately, I have tried (and failed) to work on a layout, any layout. I'd spend time on one, look at it again later, and then move on to another. Just no mojo happening. Then, I was thinking of Bonnie's pickleball projects and got to thinking about my aquafit classes which I began in January. For a small rural area, we have an amazing sports complex cum library that has beautiful pools on offer. I planned to start then the lockdown came along.I've never been a water person, but I am loving the classes. I started with a Cassel template (from Lab 12-11) and tweaked and played with it. All the ingredients come from somewhere online. Two pix are of the aquatic area here, and the two with people in the pool are just grabs from elsewhere. I'm not sure we would be able to take pix while using the pools. Now, about those water droplets (splashes)...I was trying to make my own using Lab Mod 12-8, but they ended up looking like amoebas b/c I had so much trouble with the nodes! So these come from Janet Kemp at DS. Bring on the Vector Workshop so I can beat those nodes into submission! P.S. I don't do Lab Modules in order as others do. I skip around and try what catches my fancy.

  42. Anne, LOL! Here is what I've been working on. Florals of my own. I have pages of these, but have only scanned one, and of the flowers on that one, I have only colored and fixed up one. (Thought I'd give Susan a run for her money in the Turtle race.) Now that I have done one, I'm not sure this is the looking I'm going for so I'm going to try to fill with some paper-grain instead.
