  1. Day 2 - This is my 3-year-old great-niece Amelia. It looks like she borrowed gloves from her dad. The papers are from a collection by Marisa Lerin called Winter Arabesque. The snow-capped font is Winter Vibes from Creative Fabrica.

I've also attached screenshot of a recent problem with wrapping text. Even after clicking the checkmark for ACCEPT, any change, e.g., moving, changing size, or duplicating the layer, removes the constraint of the selection. This is a recent phenomenon.

    My PSP 2023 version is 25.2.0.58 x64.

  2. Ann - That is a beautiful story. You and your mom made a good call.

Back when Facebook was still fun, distant cousins started to reach out and connect. A common thread was music, from the professional performers and educators, to the church musician, to the guitar picker, to the parent who didn't play an instrument but supported her children who did.

Music was an integral part of our family. Attached is a picture of "The Landreth Brothers Quartet" (1938). My dad is the tall one in the tan suit. The other picture is of me at the piano flanked by the "Jim and Gene Quartet" comprised of my uncles Jim and Gene from the original quartet, and Uncle Genes fraternal twin sons, Jim and Gene.

  3. I do a lot of decorating. Since I moved back to Alabama to care for my mom, it grew each year.

Even though she had a bad childhood, she still loved Christmas. I did my best to bring as much magic to it as I could to help make up for lost Christmases.

She passed away earlier this year. Since it is just me and the cats, I considered keeping it to a minimum if I did anything at all. After pondering a bit, I decided to go ahead, starting with the 9-ft. tree in the living room.

On the subject of fonts, which font managers does everyone use? I desperately need one. I currently add the different categories to the zip filenames. It's a terrible method as it simply brings up the zip files which don't show the fonts. I'm sure (?) I would download fewer fonts if I could organize them better.

I use Fontbase. There is a free version which is fully functional. The paid version is $39 a year, which is what I use. It has features that let me sync fonts between my two laptops. The viewer does a good job of giving access to the glyphs.

Hi I am a little late to the party. Here is my project for New. When I saved it 600x600 the forum told me my file was too big. I don't what I did wrong. I resaved it 500x500.

In the "Save As" dialog box, there is a slider to adjust the compression.

  6. The papers and elements are from a kit by Jessica Dunn, Into the Wild. The font is Summer Fun from Creative Fabrica.

I recently found out that Noah, the older brother, is doing commercials and ads. I just thought he was a cute kid. Little did I know ...

  7. Project 3

I used elements from the Best Mom Ever kit. I swapped out the papers at the last minute and forgot to make of note of the details.

These are pictures of my mom and Amelia, who has recently been deposed as the reigning "Baby of the Family." She was always fussy until she was in her great-grandmother's arms.

Later, Amelia stayed close to her when they were together, even guiding her walker and eating cake.

NOTE: I forgot to credit the quote. It is from that wise sage, Anonymous. Sorry for the oversight.

Wonderful layout, Gerry. Can you tell me what fonts you used? They are different and quite interesting.

Thank you. The font for the title was La Bamba LET. I don't remember where I got it, but it's available on DaFont and other sites. The "scrawl" on the side of the photo is Book Signature and came from Creative Fabrica.

  9. The picture is the front of our house. I tried Carole's tutorial on creating a spooky look. It's hard to see, but there is a ghost in the window. I experimented with having him on the porch, but that got tooooo spooky.

The clipart and font (Butcherman) are from Creative Fabrica.

  10. I'm playing catch-up.

My setup is basic. I may play with colors and themes, but I always come back to basics. I use a couple of bound scripts a lot, but nothing special after that.

I'm pretty plain with my sandwiches, too. However, I do like a nice tablecloth.

  11. My mother wanted oak trees in the front yard. However, realizing that time was growing increasingly short, I talked her into two fast-growing maple trees. In their third year, these rich colors confirmed that fall was at hand.

During my time living on the North Shore of Massachusettes, color exploded all around. Although there is no comparison, these beautiful leaves say, "I'm home."

  12. Day 6

Downtown Athens is like going back in time. One of the cornerstones of nostalgia is U.G. White Mercantile, a general store where shoppers can get housewares, hardware, and candy by the pound. Prices have increased since its founding in 1917, but the old charm remains.

  13. Day 4

The little farm stand is only a few minutes away. Canning and freezing were my mother's hobbies, so we were there several times a week to see what had come in from the fields. The owner even called us when she knew my mother wanted something specific.

  14. My cover features the historic Limestone County Courthouse in Athens, Alabama. It was built in 1919 in a Neoclassical style with Palladian influences.

I have no idea what that means. They had me "historic."

Located in the heart of town, it is the anchor for Athens Square, a lively entertainment district hosting seasonal activities that attract hundreds of residents from Athens and surrounding areas.

  15. Day 6.

No more Carmen Sandiego adventures - for now.

Stumbling on these photos triggered some fun memories. My dad would plot elaborate routes from Alabama to Minnesota, but Gooseberry Falls was always on the list.

The elephant picture reminded me of the many times when I felt inadequate in my quest to be The Favorite Uncle but fell short. They always had a good time, which was what it was all about.

@SuzyThe templates are there for inspiration and of course, there is no way for me to know exactly what kind of templates and photos one will want to use. If you don't use those templates, they will be stored for another project. I wanted the DIAMOND members to get something more for future use if it is not for this time around. That page with all the stamps look very interesting.

@Corrie KinkelNice variety of datestamps! And yes, the scripting course will wait and you should easily catch up.

@Susan EwartThat could be a way to go too. Since various elements are taught throughout the 7 days, one can combine them into one page. I just wanted to add something exclusive to the DIAMOND members.

@Ann Seeber There are different styles of scrapbooking: some will include lots of embellishments, some with none, and some with anything in-between. If an element fits, it will fit, but if the images are showcased enough, that is ok too.

@Rene Marker That is exactly what I keep saying: templates are a starting point. From there, you can go in any direction!

@Bonnie Ballentine Scripts are tools too. Why not use them!? Eventually, you might put everything together.

@Anita Wyatt It is very tempting to fit the photo to the space, but it is better to crop some edges than to squish the photos. It is like fitting a round peg in a square hole: to make it fit, one will be larger than the other. No way around it. Check this article on resizing photos.

@Gerry Landreth Oh no! She is caught already? What will happen to the rest of the workshop? Unless she escapes?

@fiona cook If you have small details to show, you can size a double page to 1000 pixels OR split them in two too! (oops I now see you did exactly that!)

@kasany Can you share a little bit of context for your project? I am unclear why the baby feet.

@Michele I am sure you will find occasions to retry the tutorial so you can figure out how you did it correctly.

@Donna SilliaA great idea to attach the tags to a suitcase!

@bina greene Even if the shape of the map is not obvious to outsiders, you will include that information somewhere else in the layout or album so it is not an issue and the texture makes it unique too.

Keep it up. The lessons will stay available until next Sunday so you still have a week to catch up if you need to, or that long to change your mind (which happens often!).

    Great work everybody.

These Carmen adventures are only five episodes. They have others, but I steered clear. It's too addictive. I forgot to include the clues that got us from Dubai to Sydney.

    • She wanted to know if a platypus is a mammal.
    • She was headed to Earth's smallest continent.
    • A suspicious person left in a speedboat flying a flag with white stars.

  17. Day 5.

The thief has been apprehended, and the jewels safely returned. Good work gumshoes!

And thus ends another chapter of Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego.

All of the pictures came from Pixabay. The Carmen and Tigress images came from DeviantArt. Red, white, and blue are the official colors of Australia. However, green and gold are the adopted colors for their sports teams.
