And this is week 52! Just the table decoration my husband bought us today. He has been ill again and today was the first day he felt good enough to go out for a little walk. I think I have said it before it was great to see all the very different entrees for this challenge and it was nice to have an ongoing project. Thank you all very much for the comments and inspiration. If we are going to do something again I tend to a fortnightly one, or another A-Z one.2 points

This was adapted from a small 8.5 x 11 page I made to thank my neighbor for some chili. It was a challenge to figure out shadows and other things starting with a small page. I have learned one lesson, don't start with that small (pixel wise) page for anything like this. Oh well Cassel will have to forgive me for it not being a well done page.2 points

One project I need to do that I'm putting off is documenting my vintage cameras/accessories, so I think the P52 would fit the bill. I like the idea of the fortnightly one, but wonder if a person could pick their own theme. that way I could tackle some of those photo ideas that are floating around my head and I would finally take the time needed in the studio. it seems weird (probably) to others, that I don't document my life that much, who wants to bore the hair off their head when all I have to show is work and cats. OMG!...just now, a piece of hair fell out of my head. aaaaahhh.2 points

thank you so much Corrie. I don't think I could have done it without everyone else posting (graphics or comments). I think this format gave me the discipline (accountability) to make sure I didn't give up. I know I wouldn't tackle this type of project on my own....because I have projects like that in my head but it's so daunting that I haven't started them. Being in group setting seems to get me going more.2 points

My last week will come later today, but now I just have time to answer the question of going on or change this format before I have to cook my courgette soup. Being almost at the end of this P52 challenge I already asked myself if I would like to continue in 2025. I gave you in 52 weeks and impression of my life and it doesn't appeal to me to repeat that because there would be many things that are going to be the same. Also I only want to do something where I can use my own photos, this is a personal choice of course. Being somewhat stuck in the place where I live without a car and with my husband not able to travel anymore a theme about travel, places, nature etc will give me not enough photos to use either. In the A - Z challenge I already used the place where I live and have a printed album as well. Of course I travel to California to visit my family and hopefully I can go in 2025, but that are just a couple of weeks. However I did love this P52 challenge and most of all doing it with you all, but I tend to go with some of Rene's ideas for a monthly challenge. However I'm open for new ideas as well.2 points

The theme for November is CEMETERY. Did you visit a cemetary for Veteran's Day? Or to honor an ancestor? Or a recently deceased friend or relative? Remember that you can also share older layouts you already made. You don't have to create a brand new one! Let's go! Post your project in the gallery.1 point

My canvas was 3600x1900 b/c the photo was horizontal. I am using aA's supplies a lot b/c I can't help myself! I got more of her art with a recent sale she had.1 point

I love this layout as well as the story. I too left photography for holidays only when I quit working in the photo business (as a photo lab supervisor), it was too expensive. It wasnt until I was doing warm/hot glass work and silversmithing that I needed to get a record of what I was doing that it revived. And then I really found my passion when i joined the Campus and needed to have photos for layouts.1 point

I was going to go with a mask, but saw that you had already created a gorgeous birthday card using a mask. Creating these frames are ever so easy. Saying that the more corners, and overlaps you have the more work it involves. Yet worth it in my opinion.1 point

It was enjoying itself sitting in the water. Having the bird bath to itself. It was quite happy to sit there, posing for many shots. Which gave me immense pleasure, for a short while.1 point

You're fortunate to have good (simple) backups. I wonder what we would do here (Canada) if other sources of power went down.1 point

Make sure to adjust the kerning. It looks like it might be negative. Set it to 0 to see if it is even more ligible.1 point

This challenge has had great success in the past so we can continue to have it on a regular basis, donโt you think? Just like those โsome assembly requiredโ kits that you can buy for a shelf, a chair, or a picnic table, I am including a 3600ร3600 pixels canvas with some shapes. You HAVE to use the shapes in the size and proportions they are. You can move them, rotate them, flip them, and rearrange the layering if you want but you cannot resize them. You need to use ALL the pieces but you can add more if you want. So it is like all the pieces to build a DIY shelf: you cannot change the size of the pieces but you can use them creatively. Obviously, you will want to recolor them or replace them with papers, photos, etc. We just need to be able to recognize the initial shapes. Here is a preview of the shapes involved. The hearts will need to stay hearts. You will have lots of strips of papers OR ribbons. The leaves should stay as is (you can only rotate and color them). Remember that you CANNOT replace them. They are NOT placeholders. Click here to download the layered template. Post your projects in the gallery.1 point

That is really blue! We had a house shaking thunder and lightening storm this morning . The the skies cleared and it's a blue sky, but not as blue and glorious as yours!1 point

My hand is getting to shakey to do a decent job drawing with the pen tool using a mouse these days. Athough I used a cass rope, It looks more like string, and hides the shakiness. I went with a goldy metalic title. Created the curly streamer, placing it under the flowers. I will remove the flowers, streamer and knots to make room for some info at a later date. I have only ever photographed 2 birds with their uropygial gland exposed. Also known as the preen gland. It secretes an oily fluid which the bird uses in preening its feathers.1 point

I used a photo I took of Ffion one of my granddaughters at the beach when I was home last. They live in Cornwall. I used a mask from one of the calendar challenges. I used the Dolphin and one of the shells from the font to create the tag, and text on a path on the dolphin. I filled the word Cornwall with water, sand and seashells. The bow is Carole's bow 3 script. It's not the easiest of dingbats to work with. Although it is a fun beach font.1 point

I was in one of my book/author groups on Facebook and one member had asked AI to create a portrait for the main character using descriptions from the books. Their attempt was fair so I decided to try. It was rather interesting as I had all the books in my Kindle collection so I could copy/paste descriptions directly from the author. The portrait AI created for me was quite popular in the group so I might even try it again some time. If anyone is familiar with the character Lucas Davenport from John Sandford's "Prey" series, here's the Bing Copilot DalE-3 version. (the scar is too prominent but otherwise the wolverine smile and sparkling eyes are right on)1 point

Is anyone else old enough to remember Patti Playpal? She was about three feet tall and was the perfect companion for a little girl. I used Cass's photo corners script that I won; I love it! The journaling font is Billy Signature and the title font is Lovely Honey. I made the background paper.1 point

Thank you Corrie, photos can speak volumes. Not only about the subject, but also the photographer. The fox cub is one of three out in the crop. I have photos of them playing while mum sits and watches over them. As for the ground squirrels, I wish I could tell them apart but I can't. Choosing a weekly photo is difficult, it would be easier to post them all if it was possible.1 point

I wonder how they got there. I was shocked to see you had pictures of them. They do love the farm fields. When i lived in British Columbia there was farm fields around my house and they spent their nights there. But hey, free fertilizer for the farmers. We used to go the little park with a small pond and counted over 800 one night as they were taking off. When they were up on the grass part of the park you could just walk amongst them. I miss that park, I only see a few geese here and there where I live now. I know the farmers dont feel the same. And I get that it's not good to have an invasive species as it upsets the balance in the areas they shouldn't be in. It's like the starlings that were brought to Canada.1 point

@ Julie, Sue and Bonnie Ladies thank you so much, it means a lot to me, especially because it took me some time to figure out how to use the DIY template without changing all the elements.1 point

Sharla, this is the best advice I've gotten. thank you so much. I do repot into bigger and I agree, it's really expensive. I'll start feeding them and even try to remember to water then now and then (kidding). the rosemary is great because I can neglect it and it just keep growing and even flowers. You are so right about the thyme, mine is woody but I didnt know about cutting it back. they were pretty old too, so I send them over the plant version of the rainbow bridge. Sad to say, I only move the pots around for photo ops and not for the plants sake. I would have being a terrible mother! It's all about me๐. I haven't had very good luck growing food plants in the past. I plant and forget, usually my husband feels bad for the plants and takes over care (another reason I would have been a bad mother, on the other hand, my husband would have been a GREAT mother!). I'm trying two veggies this year; peas and pumpkins. We'll see how that goes. I subscribe to your ways....not following the rules. If it works, great, if it doesn't....I can always buy potted plants to photograph. I appreciate your advice and help. BTW, I would read the back of the package and think, naaa, that doesn't work for me, I'm going to do it this way. And I bought one kind of bulb....the directions say, plant with the "crown" up. I"m thinking, what?! I'm growing a plant not a Princess! I just planted the little green part sticking upwards, hoping it really is a plant since the whole dried up thing looked like the mother-of-all dried up cat hairballs! Plants are weird...so am I, I guess we go together.1 point

I'm trying to find the tutorial or class that shows how to weave in and out like that. I just can't get it right when I do it. And you're so masterful at it!1 point

I maintained the sizes of all the pieces. As for the dashed shapes, I started of by trying to create proper stitching, with holes and all, but they proved to be to small. I opted for creating an embossed effect instead. As for the squiggly line, which I'm not fussed on, I decided to create alpha, weaving the letters through the line. I used two of the pieces for journaling, and the other two, to create a sort of split photo. All the original pieces are clearly recognizable. The framed ivy, is one I created some time ago in gold, all I had to do was to colourize the ivy, and frame. As per usual I used tutorials from the creative scrap on the two journaling tags, to make them less boring. Due to the piece on the top left being a little taller than the other two, I opted to tilt the pieces, so it wasn't obvious. Keeping everything exactly the same size and recognizable is a bit of a challenge, but none the less fun.1 point

I agree with Rene. All that I have on my C drive are the programs which I am currently using, everything else is stored on one of my two 2TB external hard drives. BY doing so, and keeping the C drive just below half full, maintains the speed of the laptop, and the programs running efficienlty. I'm hoping that by dramatically cleaning out your C drive will resolve your issues. As a full C drive is problematic. To be perfectly honest, even though Corel has told you to install PSP on your D Drive, I wouldn't, as it's not the choice of PSP to be installed there, along with all their files. I know some do, and they haven't had any issues in doing so. Unless you are confident in doing so, I would contact Geek Squad, specify what you'd like them to do, explain the problems you are having, and let them clean the laptop for you. There was a time I used to do that myself, but soon learnt that I was only scratching the surface of a deep major clean up. Now Geek Squad does it for me. I watch what they do, they delve into places that I never did. Bu first I would delete programs and files thay you no longer need. Even though you have deleted stuff, there is always something left behind, which is where the knowledge of Geek Squad comes into play. Should you decide to go down the road of a new laptop, I told Best Buy what my primary use was going to be for the laptop. They recommended a gaming laptop, which is what I went with. I haven't had any cause for regret for the choice I made. They transfered everything from the old laptop to the new one. I gave them PSP serials numbers etc. Once I took it home I could sit down and instantly start creating. They even set up a wifi connection for the camera for me, so I could transfer photos directly from the camera to the laptop.1 point

I'm a bit early with my week12 but I don't think it will be getting much better then this. We have lovely Spring days at the moment and there is so much coming into flower. Yesterday we went to the "Heemtuin" in a nearby village where a large natural garden is created which only has wild flowers, trees and shrubs that are native for this area. I was able to take a lot of photos, so in other projects I will use many more. This photo is of a Prunus variety.1 point

I read Corrie's story (and enjoyed it). It reminded me of my own very young childhood. I wasn't a dolly girl (much to my mother's chagrin b/c she loved making outfits for the dolls she bought me). I played with dolls (and later Barbie), but my favourite activity was playing in the open fields in our small village with lots of other kiddies, especially cowboys and Indians (which is not very politically correct anymore.) We all had holsters and fake six-guns and pretended to ride on stalliions and shoot each other! (We all survived and none of us has ever used a gun since.) Back in the 1950s, early 1960s, TV westerns were very popular on TV. I would watch them with my dad, night after night, when we weren't watching hockey or boxing or Ed Sullivan. (I was a tomboy, can you tell?) According to a bit of research, TV westerns on the three major networks (ABC, NBC, CBS) numbered over a 100 for a period of eleven or twelve years. Because most of our TV channels came from the US, we were a captive audience. This layout is my attempt to capture those days of B&W TV when I was a cowgirl, with some of the favourites everyone was watching.1 point

Week 10 This photo was taken as the day was coming to an end from an upstairs window. It was taken extending the zoom on my little digital camera as far as it could go to capture trees and a snowy hillside a long way in the distance past chimney tops and roofs. I havenโt altered it in any way because I rather like its bleak moodiness at the end of a grey day.1 point
