This year I used gnomes as a theme for my youngest grandsons' Christmas Cards. The backgrounds are from CF and Canva. The front letters are pngs from CF which were stacked using Carole's Alpha Stacking script and then entered into the Text Creator script. The candy cane frame is my own from my Build a kit 2. The purple belt Taekwondo gnome is from Adobe Express AI in honor of Thomas just receiving his purple belt. The inside gnome is from CF, and the candy cane letters are from my alphas in Build a Kit 2. I did not save the name of the inside font but it is from CF.4 points

I'm having good luck with PSP 2022 Ultimate. It is my goto for actual work. I'm glad I got the 2023 only for the Vision FX and that is what I use it for. I know there were features in 2023 that aren't in 2022, but I can do without it seems. I'm not going to fight it - 2022 for me.2 points

I have never thought of you (or anyone else) in that kind of "traditional" garb. My mother and her sister each made their own "kroj" (pronounced kroy) when they were young and wore them in Canada and the US in the 1940s & 50s for special occasions. This photo shows them (mother & sister) as children in their native garb in Moravia). I wish so much I had one of those intricate, lovingly-made dresses to preserve.2 points

Moving a selection In PSP2023, if you have a selection and you want to move it, using the Right-click is wonky. Although it will move, you have no reference point as it will temporarily move the whole image, not the selection. Once you let go of the right button, it will have moved, and the image will be back to normal, but you won't be able to accurately move it like you would on previous versions. Solution: use the Edit selection, move it with the normal Move tool or Pick tool and Edit selection again.2 points

This year has been quite challenging for me. I think I mentioned on here before that I had developed a horrible bout of Vertigo just after the New Year. The dizziness, spinning and double vision subsided by mid March but left me with a fairly common but nasty side effect of feeling wobbly and unstable. There were times I did not want to do anything with PSP, especially if it involved me having to concentrate more than usual. Lately, I am doing more things even if it's quite challenging and giving me a bit of brain fog too. An MRI was clear, my eye health is fine and awaiting an ENT appointment. Sitting down is fine, it is the walking that I am unsteady. Anyway, I did not mean this to be a moan fest, just to say why I have not been as involved with here and PSP in general. However, I have really enjoyed this challenge of changing a dingbat font into a shape (using a script by Susie Shook) and then colouring them in and using all sorts of techniques, as taught by Carole and a fur plugin on the cat. I have put them onto one layer and will use them to compose a Christmas greeting for those friends and family I don't see through out the year. I notice I have used a different Dingbat font than the one Carole suggests. Told you I had brain fog. Anyway, hope you like them. x Forgot to say the Dingbat font was called Fox Christmas Doodle.2 points

We have concluded that PSP2023 will be the last version developed by Corel/Alludo. Unfortunately, it also means that the existing bugs might not be fixed. Let's make a list of the bugs you have experienced so far. As a beta-tester, I saw several reports of bugs but not all of them are consistent or affecting everyone. To start, make sure you have the latest patch for it, and the number is 25.2.0.58. If you happen to have version 25.1.0.28, you will HAVE to uninstall your PSP and reinstall it from scratch as that particular version will NOT upgrade to the correct version; it is kind of "stuck" there. Don't report bugs for that older version: they are very serious and were fixed in the upgrade. To make it easier to read and refer to, indicate, in bold, a name for the tool/effect/function, then describe the issue you are encountering. If they are actual bugs, I will leave them there. If they are just technical issues that should be troubleshoot, I will remove them from the thread into their own thread so we can address them separately.1 point

I know it is controversial these days but from when I was a little girl we always celebrated Sinterklaas and I have the most happy memories about those 3 weeks in the year. The big department stores had made great displays in their shop-windows and the children could visit Sinterklaas there just as it is with Santa now. My grandparents always came to our house to take part. Most kids lost their faith in Sinterklaas when they were between 6 and 8 years of age and you were wondering how it was possible that Sinterklaas was in 2 different locations on the same time and wasn't looking like it was the same person. Sometimes you recognized the person playing the role of Sinterklaas was someone you knew, or you wondered how the presents arrived through the chimney when you lived in an apartment building. But after the shock of finding out, the great fun started, because you were considered old enough to start making surprise gifts for the rest of the family. Most of the time we draw lots with the name of one of the family members for whom you had to buy a present and transform it into a surprise gift which had to be accompanied with a poem. In the poem you could make fun of that person, or comment on something that had happened and you weren't happy with. But never nasty! Later we kept this tradition with our own children until our daughter moved to Switzerland where they don't know this tradition and our son didn't want to go on without his sister and my parents were to old to come because they didn't lived in the neighborhood.1 point

Once Moravia was known for its intricate patterns and I suspect now it still is in use for tourists too. I have seen beautiful shawls, I think when I visited Austria many years ago, but I never bought one because they were way over my budget in those days.1 point

Carol can you mention about that we can't right click and move a selection and how to work around that. I dont have good words to say it right. Thank you.1 point

Before the patch when I selected just one layer it would actually select the one above the one I selected(and highlighted) in the layers palette. The patch fixed that and I dont have that problem anymore.1 point

Selecting multiple layers If you select multiple layers in the Layers palette, holding the Ctrl key, sometimes, additional layers will get selected and not just the ones you want.1 point

Wrapped text gets unwrapped It might not always happen but once you have added wrapped text into a selection, when you edit the text afterward, it might loose its "wrapping" and go back to a straight text with no way to put it back in its shape.1 point

The weather is still miserable here and I think I haven't seen the sun in 10 days or so. We call this period the dark days before Christmas and this year it really is appropriate. Outside it is gloomy and often wet as well and I haven't found anything to take a photo of. I would have liked to go to our local woodland park to see if there was anything worthwhile, but since we haven't a car any longer I have to go by bike and that wasn't appealing at all. We have a tall vase standing in a dark corner of our living; normally with a nice colorful artificial bouquet of flowers and greenery. At this time of the year I put small electric lights in it with some silvery leaves, not really a Xmas decoration but I'll leave it there until the days are lengthening. Without anything else to take photos I experimented with it and this is the result I like best. But hopefully next week I can go to our market square when it is almost dark to see the decorations and lights.1 point

Today I started to decorate and opened the boxes with all the decorations. I always put all the smaller things on the dinner table to have a look what I want to use and see if anything is broken. The next thing is to remove my normal deco and dust the cabinets on with my garlands etc are coming. When I had them all opened I missed a big garland and I must be getting old because at first I couldn't even remember that last year we discarded it because it was so very tatty and the lights didn't worked any longer too. But here there is a small part displayed on the table and luckily nothing was broken.1 point

Week 49 The photo is of some strawberry plants I have in a planter that lives outside. I’m always amazed at how hardy the plants are. I always overwinter some cuttings in my tiny greenhouse just in case the weather does its worst but, so far, they have survived everything which means each year I land up with even more strawberry plants! At this time of the year the leaves are a variety of colours through green, yellow and brown.1 point
