I didn't go for a school theme as well. This font is so easy to read that I probably am going to use it often. Besides the frame by Carole I made the rest from scratch with a lot of different blend modes and reduced opacities. Both my photos are from the same wild carrot in the small meadow where I often pass by. When the plant dies down it makes a tight ball over the seeds in the flowerhead which give it its nickname "vogelnestje" (in Dutch) and that translates to birdnest.7 points

I listened to that podcast as well and like Marie-Claire enjoyed it very much. When you explained and told your story it was as if I was listening at a masterclass without seeing you.😉 I have never heard of a Radio Bingo over here. There are bingo's held in community centers, pubs, retirement homes etc. Many years ago, before the mobile phone, there was a radio show that called a randomly selected phone number and when answered asked if you were listening to the show or if you could turn the radio on. Then the presenter asked a question on the show and if you knew the answer you could win a prize. It was my lucky day because out of all the phone numbers I was called! To this day I don't remember what that specific question was but the prize was 2 tickets for the show of Cirque du Soleil that was playing in Amsterdam and we had very good seats too to see all the acrobatic acts.2 points

I'm completely agree. You used a very good word to describe this not good for the fonts background.2 points

I listened to the podcast, very good!! Really explained so well what you can do with Paintshop Pro, and what you can find and learn in the Scrapbook Campus and in the store. So so much! I enjoyed listening to it. Everything clearly explained, as always, as we are used to from you Carole 👏2 points

Kasany I agree this font won't look good on a layout with a busy background but on an almost one color background it is easy to read. For instance I'm thinking of journaling on a label etc.2 points

Thank you and somehow the photos just "asked" for that color. When I had them on a lighter background it didn't work. This way the photos blend in with the background and I had to reduce the opacity on Carole's frame because it was bright orange. I spend most of the time playing with the settings for the background; the photos with the masks were easy. The wild carrot actually produces a white carrot, but to us it isn't very tastefully. The seeds are mostly used in a meadow mix or sown on their own in a garden for ornamental purposes because the plant is very decorative and it is a sturdy plant, circa 60-70 cm high.2 points

First of all, come and say HI once you register for this Bootcamp. We want to know who else will be there, on our side to cheer everyone up. Everyone started as a beginner, so don't ever compare yourself to others. You will learn one tool at a time, one concept at a time and you will create one project at a time. Everyone will have different photos and possibly different supplies so every project will be different. Once the Bootcamp is started, on September 16th, 2024, you can post your projects in here. Remember to resize your images to about 600 pixels AND save them in jpg format, before uploading them to the gallery (check this tutorial to upload to the gallery) so it won't slow down the site when we have lots of your masterpieces. Try to follow the tutorials at least enough so that we can recognize what lesson you completed. Now, let's get ready! If you missed the registration link or if you found this thread before I announced it (some people are very observant), HERE it is. Share it around if you want. Although this Bootcamp is mostly meant to help beginners, we won't exclude anyone for "excess experience". Some participants are back for a second (or third) round. You are always welcome. Remember that it will be the exact same tutorials so don't be surprised. I am sure you will now do something slightly different than the previous time. Since anyone can follow the whole Bootcamp using the trial version of PaintShop Pro, this is a perfect opportunity for anyone to give it a try and see how they like the program, so share with your friends who MIGHT consider using PaintShop Pro. The 7 tutorials will be spaced out over almost 2 weeks. This should make it easier for participants to follow without feeling stressed (it should never be stressful!).1 point

Although I have taken this class several times, it still seems as if I learn something new or am reminded of some clever trick that I had forgotten.❤️1 point

Hi, Ann you beat me to the line-up! I have taken this bootcamp a couple of times before and always try to do so once a year. It is a great rehearsal of the basic techniques! I started my scrapbooking journey in 2020 with a bootcamp and I have no regrets whatsoever doing so. A warm welcome to the newcomers and don't be intimidated by us regulars because we vividly remember our first steps into scrapbooking. Who knows maybe you inspire us with your input and it is always nice to welcome new scrapbook enthousiasts! See you soon.1 point

Radio Bingo? How does that work? Is it over the radio or at a physical location that they sponsored? When I was in my twenties my friends and I would go to Bingo. Whenever my friend, Mark, would win, he would jump up and yell, "Bingo, Bango, Bongo!" The old ladies loved him.1 point

First in Line and ready for school. I take this class probably twice a year when offered because it's a familiar friend and the layouts inspire me by their spare design. I think I'm in my 4th year here, since 2021. Now I'm off to see what photos I can feature this go-round. Welcome all newcomers! I love it when you ask questions that I can actually answer! LOL1 point

I have never heard of radio bingo but this sounds awesome for me and my blind friends that like to play bingo but there is not enough interest in a central location. Yes, it is easy to find all braille or print braille bingo cards and player pieces.1 point

I love the colors in this layout. Does this plant actually produce a carrot? It's amazing to see that it can go into such a tight ball. It's a pretty flower with the pink ring.1 point

That is so nice. Is that black walnut on the edges? that's going to be a very unique brand on her boards, a little extra art for the recipient..1 point

Most current project. My wife is a Feng Shui Master (studied with Joseph Yu in Toronto) and at some point about 25 years ago, she commissioned an artist to design a logo for her. The artist came up with two and she chose and mostly has used one of them over the years. She is now into woodworking and is making kitchen cutting boards. She wanted to turn her logo into a branding iron (type "branding iron for wood" into amazon.c o m). I am turning her logo into a preset shape outline that can be used to make the branding iron. Obviously it won't have the yin/yang COLOR scheme but I can make the outline so it is definitely HER logo and can be turned into a "one-dimensional" (?) tool to "sign" her woodwork. Here is the logo I'm starting with.1 point

Didn’t go for the school theme but used the font for a quote layout. “If your dreams do not scare you, they are not big enough” is a quote from Ellen Johnson Sirleaf who was president of Liberia from 2006 to 2018. She was the first elected female head of state in Africa. The background is one of my photos of clouds.1 point

I love monoline fonts like this one. They look great with inner bevels. The elements are from my older stash so I can't give the proper credit.1 point

Thanks, I will, I just thought it was supposed to look like that. LOL1 point
