  1. I've finished another layout. Thank goodness it didn't take that long like the previous one... Some pages come easily, others not so much. 2. Here is the updated version. The pen tool gave me a lot of grief earlier, until Carole suggested using a high tracking. I didn't know where to put it so I stuck it in the corner.

  3. My hand is getting to shakey to do a decent job drawing with the pen tool using a mouse these days. Athough I used a cass rope, It looks more like string, and hides the shakiness. I went with a goldy metalic title. Created the curly streamer, placing it under the flowers. I will remove the flowers, streamer and knots to make room for some info at a later date. I have only ever photographed 2 birds with their uropygial gland exposed. Also known as the preen gland. It secretes an oily fluid which the bird uses in preening its feathers.

  4. Flippin' knot gave me grief. Now I can go outside and star gaze. The milky way, and hopefully another Aurora tonight.

  5. Here is the shot of a female Robin sunbathing on the 30 July, with the preening gland exposed, opening dorsally at the base of the tail feathers. For those that are interested, I will post the photo on facebook for better viewing.

  6. When you use the Pen tool, what value does the Tracking have? I find that if you start with a value around 60, the shakiness is not "captured" by the program as much as if the Tracking is much lower.

  7. HI. My name is Michele and I'm a Font-a-Holic! 🤣

  8. Wow, I never knew this. How cool and interesting. Thank you. Must not be an easy thing to capture. Those little LBJs are so fast as everything they do.

  9. That will expalin the shakiness then. I checked the tracking and it was set 8. Usually it's set at 40. Don't know why it was as low as 8. I know I have a steady hand for everything else I do. I will redo the knots, using a tracking of 60 plus. Thank you. I didn't notice that the tracking was that low, and that the tracking would effect the shakiness. I thought, blimey I'm deteriorating quickly! lol

  10. Annie is one of my favorite template designers. I've gotten some beautiful ones on the ALFLT Blog Train.

  11. Sue, some templates I can replicate, but others can be tricky.🙂 Sometimes, I prefer to work with templates; other times, I am up to create my own... Not to mention scraplifting. 😄 It's like using scripts: I love to know how to do it myself, but sometimes, I want the comfort and speed that a script gives. Not to mention, I could never create such beautiful bows as Carole does!

  12. Thankfully I can now. I rarely draw with the pen tool, my pen work is done using the nodes. 🙂

  14. I have no fear of small spaces but over-crowded situations is something I always try to avoid. 11 Hours in a completely full airplane isn't my idea of relaxed travel but if I want to see my family in California it can't be avoided! I must say that my last trip was way better, on my outward bound flight I almost had 6 rows to myself and a steward to pamper me and give me all kinds of extra treats and he opened all the water bottles for me because I couldn't. The home flight had more passengers but it still had enough spaces left where everybody could make him/her self comfortable. I wish it could be this way every time.

  15. Michele I'm so happy for you that you were able to finish this workshop despite you being so ill at the beginning! You finished on a high and with something we all could do to make this world a beter place.

  16. Lab 13 Mod 1. I did choose the dolphin stencil. The other elements and background paper are mine and all came from my Beach kit except the mask which was one from the mask workshop - I use that mask a lot.

  17. Two Peas In A Pod...another ACD template. I asked for 2, 5, 0. I've done 2 and 5. Waiting for 0. The font is by 2 Peas and is called Rubber Ducky.

  18. I'm playing with labs. Lab 13 Mod 1 has just one element - stencil. I haven't decided what will be the theme of my layout, but I made several stencils and 1 as an "enamel" element. Unfortunately, I made the background layer white and all of the outlines of the stencils are white!

  19. My latest: font is apple cider from CF. I am not sure I care for how this font looks.

  20. Thank you so much, Mary I love playing with the different fonts. I hope it will save me time on making titles. I have used layer styles so that I have the option of deleting the style, converting to raster and using the raster effects. If anyone wants to use my alphas, let me know.

  21. I really think that I need to go to rehab for a font addiction. I can't stop downloading them from CF. I have been working on letter templates using patterns and different fonts. This font is called Mrs. Beasly which is a thick, free font. The pattern is from a dingbat font called Seamless patterns. I made the pattern for the letters using cass seamless pattern script, the cass script element stacker to make the layers and then the cass script text creator for the title. I used layer styles for the bevel and saved as a vector so that I could later change the pattern, colors, etc.

  23. How time has flown, developing our own unique styles in that time, whilst having fun and learning lots. I will reiterate again by saying, use the 'from vector shape' tool rather than the magic wand to maintain sharp clear curves. Before converting to masks if you want to use the shapes for adding photos. Cristina, I don't think, I know you can replicate those templates.

  24. I made this picture for the Maniacs site. It is a picture that my grandson sent to me from Thailand where he and his girl went to play rugby. The ribbon separating was made from a scrap tutorial using a pattern that I downloaded from CF. The font is Asian Pacific, also from CF. I may change the font because the L and the F look more like a P with the pattern and the stroke.

  25. That probably explains my problems and the following dislike of drawing with the Pen tool too. I'll have a look at my settings!

  28. My subjects are rarely cooperative, they are after all wild and free spirited. Which makes photographing wildlife a challenge. Always having to seize the moment, which makes life interesting.

  33. Grandson Tyler had an adventure in July with a singles vacation in Bali, Indonesia. The flight was very long but luxurious hosted by Qatar Airlines. He was delighted to be hooked up with 4 single women for the tours. This is just a template from my stash. The Bali logo is from a search which produced this on a t-shirt, and I added the date. Enjoy!

  34. What a wonderful find, and saving grace that you could find a safe haven for it. I have always adored hedgehogs, and once upon a time, they were in abundance. Now in the UK they are on the endangered list, and protected. I belive I have mentioned on here, that we had a cattle grid at the bottom of our drive. Hedgehogs used to fall into it, and the children would fish them out when they walked home from school. We would feed them raw minced beef, and water, before letting them go in the garden. From there they were safe to roam the garden and fields.

  35. Donna you will be our Alphabet Queen! You do lovely work with all the alphas you create and I'm sure there will be much more to come.

  36. I love them, especially the dolphin stencil, which can be used in any beach layout, including this week's font challenge.

  37. I realized that when I made the seamless pattern, I had a small rim of white around the pattern. I fixed that and made a new pattern that doesn't show the white lines. I found out about the problem when I used the cass alpha sheet separator script.

  39. Week 31 I was taking some photos of allium flowers when this chap landed on one of them. I think it’s a European hornet but I’m not sure – he, or she, has a delightful expression.

  40. When I started here, one of the things I wanted to create was Masks. I had downloaded a few free masks, but I wanted to know how to make my own. Sue was already creating lovely layouts (I think we joined the Campus in the same year - 2016). When I commented about the masks, she answered that they were not difficult to create—and she was right. 🙂 I've learned so much from Carole and other members over the years, and now, looking at some layouts, I think, "I can replicate this".

  41. There's also enochlophobia which is the fear of crowds and cleithrophobia, the fear of being trapped. So many phobias that I don't fully understand. Maybe I have a little bit of everything. LOL

  42. Annie C Digitals...number template. I found the sign on the web. The palm trees are by Marisa Lerin, Felt Palm Tree-Mexico. Nail heads by Brooke Gazarek, Crisp Fall Air Elements Kit.

  44. A birthday ecard for a friend at home. I replaced the birthday greeting with a quote. Duplicated the photo. I used the watercolour mask technique. Changed the duplicated photo to black and white added a texture. Carole's corner punches always come in handy. A photo I took yesterday, specifically for this card. A subject even perched on the branch I had placed amongst the trees. As I didn't want to much depth of field. I wanted some detail. As any bird that perched there would have sufficed, or mammal come to think of it.

  45. Even at a good discount, it's a bit pricey for me too. Don't think I could use the whole alphabet. Maybe I'll buy one or two letters.

  46. I was playing with the July font challenge and though I would post this here too. "I went in a totally different direction with this. I got to playing with some of the dingbat letters to see what they would look like extracted from different papers. Then I decided I would like to know what each letter looked like. One thing led to another. Well you know how that goes. LOL I did not put any shadows on anything, but I did make the page of dingbats darker to show up better. I also posted this pick on the facebook page in a larger file"

  47. Anniedigitals has a new project Numbers and i noticed this one on time! This is the layout I did with the template for number 8. It was the first time I participated in something on her FB site, I started following her recently. I requested the #8 because my dad had something with that number, major things in his live had to do with it, like the month he was born was august, he was the 8th child, lived on #8 and I was born on the 8th of april and so on. All photos are by me and I use the free script Selection to Path that Carole mentioned in the Featured Resource blogpost in June 2024. After using that script I could run the VectorTube script to get a border with flowers around the 8. I love that Selection to Path script, it worked fantastic and I think I will be using this often!

  50. Week thirty one . I can only ever add one image to each post. I've tried editing the post to add another image, but it will not allow me to do so. Anyway, I would like you to meet some of my many seasonal wild friends. Richardson's Ground squirrels. Many come to the call, for a treat. I do not attempt to touch or handle them. I let them come to me. Although they are very teritorial, somtimes they will share a treat. Which is quite rare. As it usually sparks a fight, with the dominant/older one winning seeing off the subordinate. The other image is of a baby, following in the steps of older ones. I'm unable to take shots with the camera as I can't operate it one handed. Using a tripod or monopod doesn't work either, as they won't pose for me in a specific spot. These were taken using my mobile phone.
