  1. Hi there I had great fun with my first Bootcamp. I knew very little but with all the help here I learnt a lot so I am looking forward to this one . Not sure what photos to showcase but I think the puppies will have to be there somewhere!

  2. I made a screenshot of my workspace. You'll notice I don't use thumbnails in my layer palette. Also, be sure to UNCHECK TABBED DOCUMENTS in the WINDOW menu at the top. The photo I've included is of a Viking River Cruise in Europe and I'm planning on documenting a Fantasy Travel Layout using their stock photos.

  3. I am not much of a photographer, naturalist, or gardener, but I have always found the colors of some of the plants in our neighborhood to be fascinating.

  4. Hi all, my workspace only offers 'Photography' or 'Essentials' (as I am on PSP 23) - which one should I choose for this bootcamp? I have gone for mid grey with white background for the workspace. My photo is from a recent week in Morocco; not sure what to expect so not sure what other photos I will use, but I took plenty!!!

  5. The screenshot of my workspace is customizedd to include several scripts and other commands that I use a lot on the toolbar. For example, I can just click on deselect button, the repeat button, the pick button, etc. I prefer a black background. I have also saved the workspace so that if somthing happens, I can reload it without having to setting it all up again. I will be using the photos from Riverside Park that I took during my visit to Fredericksburg, VA.

  6. Here is my Week Ten, featuring a Photopolymer Etching by my daughter, Debbie Lennox, of her Big River Farm in Springtime that I converted to Grayscale just to see how that would work. The original is in tones of brown. The font is now Cardigan Script.

  7. I've been hoping to see this technique presented for a while. It was covered in the March 2024 Q&A, so I had to give it a go. I haven't posted anything for some time, just so bloody busy! Too many irons in the fire, as the saying goes. And no inspiration at all! Every layout I have tried, I have deleted as not worth posting. I do work a lot with old photos, not just my family but others' too. This one is a favourite of mine, from 1910, not my family. The styles, the looks on their faces, the general joy of the moment - are just captivating (to me). So what better material to work with than something I have worked with? Not entirely pleased with the result, but I feel I can post without cringing. It's a start with that split frame effect.

  8. Rice pudding, one of my favourite puddings, served either hot or cold. I make a rice pudding once a week. Traditionally made with all milk, and pearle rice, in other words pudding rice. I love the skin, which is flavoured with nutmeg.

  9. Oh, you just gave me a wake-up-call. I ROTATED the photo area! That's why it's wrong. *slaps forehead* 😉

  10. So far so good. Welcome to our new participants @Dave Lebut @bina greene and our returning "bootcampers" @MoniqueN. @Bonnie Ballentine @Ann Seeber and @Corrie Kinkel. Everyone else, don't be shy. Come and say hi! We have over 100 registrants for this Bootcamp. I hope we will get a lot of posters!

  11. The word gloomy comes to mind when I look at your photo. Depicting long, dark, bleak winter days.

  12. Week 10 This photo was taken as the day was coming to an end from an upstairs window. It was taken extending the zoom on my little digital camera as far as it could go to capture trees and a snowy hillside a long way in the distance past chimney tops and roofs. I haven’t altered it in any way because I rather like its bleak moodiness at the end of a grey day.

  13. These photos showed up in The Hudson Valley in Pictures yesterday and I couldn't resist as I'm related to Louis Bevier through my father, Harold Terwilliger. His grandfather was married to Sara Bevier, a great-granddaughter of Louis. I've never been to Huguenot Street but a trip is planned! My "template" was just a .jpg so it took some maneuvering to create the "slipped-in" look. Thank goodness for promoted layers! I had to stick with the plain background because of that so I did a colorization and added a texture. The title font is Belisha. I created the brad from a piece of Huguenot art and one in my stash.

  14. N = Napoleon Cake (a classic Russian cakes, made of very thin and flaky puff pastry cake layers and a smooth, rich and luscious pastry cream)

  15. I have done the bootcamp before and was wanting to do it again and every time there was something preventing me from doing so. I'm not doing the Build A Kit workshop because I haven't time enough. In April I'm going to California for a visit to my daughter and the grandkids and that takes a lot of time in preparations, but the bootcamp will fit in. It isn't that time consuming and I like to have a smaller project besides all the prep stuff.

  17. I LOVE bootcamp! I have been attending for 3 years and it is offered several times a year. The layouts demonstrated are classic with a clean look which is just what I like. Some of my best scrapbook pages have been done in bootcamp and I look forward to more. One of the best parts is meeting new people and hopefully, being a little helpful if they need it. I find I learn things better when explaining them to others.

  18. I didn't sign up for bootcamp this time because of the Build A Kit, but I think I am going to give up on that because my PC has been in the shop for over a week and I am so far behind, I will never catch up. I have my laptop to make some comments but I don't have PSP on it and it is to hard to see that kind of stuff on the small screen. Bummer! Oh well I just hope the computer shop will be able to not loose everything on my old PC because that and a evaluation is all I was wanting. (sorry for all the grumbling)
