Here is my great-grand Magic who is 3 with a brand-new baby brother, Raja Blue. She is thrilled and Mama Lucy has trouble getting him back to nurse him. The papers are all from true heart digitals, one of the kits Cassel offered with the lesson. The title font is Snap with a paper showing woodgrain as the fill and the journaling font is Tempus Sans. The frame is from AHA Somewhere in Time. The clip is labeled PSBT_Songbird_Element from one of the other kits.5 points

Thanks Ann! That's exactly what I did for this project. I had it set way up to the best quality, and I didn't realize it! It is nice to be back in PSP land. I haven't done any layouts in a while, so I have forgotten a lot. We traveled out west last winter and enjoyed every minute of our time in California, Arizona, and New Mexico!5 points

Day 9 took longer than I thought, because I had some tradesman installing a new water heater. Anyway now completed. I have definitely learnt new ideas from you Carole. One especially is by using Ctl Y, which makes it easier to add the effects on many of my objects. Thank you for that tip.4 points

Hi, It was a lot of fun, no problems arose this time, and I figured out a few things myself (I like to sharpen straight away when I reduce it). I just wish I had known where you can bend text, for example into a semicircle. The "Peak-Blues" kit is from Tiny Turtle, the photo is mine and the fonts are Oliver and Orlando Samuel.3 points

Hi, now part 4 is also finished. This time I had the problem, that the tool options bar was not docked at the top. It was freely movable and had to be expanded with a small arrow on the right. I looked at the docking options, but there were ticks everywhere, including the tool options. How can I fix this important bar? And yes Carole, I managed to do that with the fill options.3 points

I've made a lot myself: such as background from colors out of the pics and a texture. But also the scratches. The ornament is from a font named Azalea ornaments. The photos I gathered from the internet. I had fun making this I hope you have fun watching it. 😆 Carole I had some trouble with the edge, the eraser didn't do the correct remove although I had all the good numbers. It's visible in the right corner down that I had to go over several times. And at the bottom of the big scratch, it's not all removed.3 points

Day 11 Thank you, Carole, for a fun bootcamp! You rock! A cat will always find an empty box and then...fill it...as Poppy is demonstrating in this photo...in January, 2012. Fonts are Brush Script MT and Monotype Corsiva. Brad in title: Sheila Reid, Furry Friends Kit, elements. Metal pawprint brad. Digital Scrapbooking. Paw print: Christina C, Cattitude Kit, paw print 1. Now we'll see more of your winter pix of the critters around you. Winter photography is often more beautiful than summertime. It captures the "weather vibe" more clearly.2 points

O, Yes. Your name was not familiar to me but now I know you. These feelings you are having are quite normal. Are these your first footsteps in scrapbooking? You will learn a lot here. The possibilities are legion in PSP. Seeing your work you have a good feeling for colors. That is the halve work already. Good luck further with this trajectory. I hope to see more of you. If you are stuck once there are a lot of helpers here.2 points

Thank you Jannette! I am also a "newbie/" I move between having fun and being frustrated--but by project 4, it was more fun than frustration, so that's improvement!2 points

After I used pics from this cam Cassel suggested I share the link. Right now there are no Osprey there as the winter in South America and should be back in early April . Explore has many wonderful live cams and some of them are active all year round. https://explore.org/livecams/ospreys/audubon-boat-house-osprey-nest Here is one that is live now. https://explore.org/livecams/african-wildlife/tau .1 point

Carole, I quite agree about the shadow on the flower stamp. When working on it, I kept lowering the number on the shadow, and it still didn't look right. I'll go back and take it off completely. Thank you!1 point

I found this kit on Gingersnaps and couldn't resist using it with a Halloween theme for the Bootcamp. Meet the Creepy Family that's coming for Halloween! Everything on the layout came from that one kit, called ID-Face in the Photograph. The kit has 11 folders filled with embellishments and 3 of papers but none of the extras like alphas or journal cards. The papers are a little odd as they are divided into texture, outdoor and indoor shots. There is very little color in this kit. The font for the title is Before the Rainbow enhanced by the Ripple Distortion Effect.1 point

Project 4 I have more flower beds than I can keep up with, but the flowers I plant are for the purpose of attracting and feeding butterflies, bees and hummingbirds--and most of them have to be perennials. : ) The 3 butterflies shown here (top: yellow eastern tiger swallowtail, bottom right: American painted lady, bottom left: common buckeye) are only a part of what we have fluttering around our yard, but I thought more than 3 photos would be too much. I did not include the narrow "ribbon" as I thought there was enough color already. Should you ever get the opportunity, take it. For more detailed info on shooting, use the widest lens you have.(for better colour) For crisper shots of the sky, focus on something in the foreground, in manual. I have trees, or buildings around the yard. Use the lowest aperture number you have. For more crisp shots use 3-15 seconds shutter speed. It's important to remember that the night sky is moving at a fast rate, which the naked eye can not see. Keep your ISO as low as possible, by adjusting it. Adjust the settings to suit your camera. At this time of year, and on into winter, the sky has less debris, producing sharper images. I also recommend you wrap up warm, take extra batteries, as the cold weather drains batteries quickly, especially when it's 20 or 30 below. PS. Woke to a blanket of snow this morning. -8c Winter has arrived!1 point

Did someone mention Northern Lights!!!!!!! September and October is the best time of year to see the Northern lights, although they dance throughout the year. At this time of year they are overhead in my area. Only last night, I was out watching the lights. They weren't green, but white, still a mesmerizing sight to behold. Prior to moving here, I had only ever seen them on the telly. Photo taken 20th September , looking north, out back amongst the trees. It's a good idea to take shots with something in the foreground. Manual, F2.8, aperture mode, shutter speed varies, 1000 plus. It is imperative that you use a sturdy tripod, with weights, to maintain absolute stillness. Taking loads of shots, to get one half tidy one. Sounds like you live in a lovely area Michele, and happy where you are.1 point

Project 3 I used elements from the Best Mom Ever kit. I swapped out the papers at the last minute and forgot to make of note of the details. These are pictures of my mom and Amelia, who has recently been deposed as the reigning "Baby of the Family." She was always fussy until she was in her great-grandmother's arms. Later, Amelia stayed close to her when they were together, even guiding her walker and eating cake. NOTE: I forgot to credit the quote. It is from that wise sage, Anonymous. Sorry for the oversight.1 point

Project 3 We love the ruby throated hummingbird, which is the only one we see here in Georgia. We put up feeders all around the house, and in with some of our flowers. They become adjusted to us, and will hover near us "checking us out." They're very curious birds. They also have incredible memories and will remember what flowers and feeders they've been to in previous years, and return again the following years. Papers came from THD-SweetSummer-Aug23-DSSS-CC Also ps_marisa-lerin-245722-the-good-life-june-2020 THD- BestMomEver-May23 ( flowers) ChineseOrientGlitter Kit (glitter)1 point

Ladies you make me so envious; to have all that nature at your doorstep. I live in the Netherlands and we are a small country where it is impossible to find a spot without light pollution. Noise is another issue because we have roads and railways almost everywhere and our nature is more like a big park. Of course it isn't all bad and I can hear the little birds sing early in a spring morning. And the sparrows have their evening coming together for spending the night in the trees. I was born and spend my youth in Rotterdam, a big city. Nowadays I live in a nice enough village with the possibility to go for a walk outside in a bit more rural setting of farmland and a small woodland park. But it isn't advisable to go there on your own as soon as it is getting dark or in the twilight. I have been to visit my family in the States 3 times now and while there we did a couple of short roadtrips that at least have given me a glimpse of the vastness, when you are riding for hours without seeing very few cars, only grassland and some farmbuildings in the distance. Hopefully next year I can go there again and if I come somewhere near one of you it would be great to meet in person. At the moment I don't have concrete plans, it depends on my daughter when it will be a good moment to come over and my home situation must allow it too. In the meantime I enjoy all the stories, the photos and layouts that are posted here.1 point

I recently watched a PBS program call "World on Fire" which was about WWII and decided to try to replicate an image that I made several years ago. No matter what I tried, I couldn't remember what I had done, so I made a new one using Balls and Bubbles effect. The earth is from CF Spark. I tried to use it as a Bump map which didn't work and ended up using it for the surface.1 point

Thank you Julie. Not in my wildest dreams did I ever think of leaving my homeland, and the life I had. Although my heart is still in Wales, I have adapted well here. If it wasn't for the local ranches that introduced me to their way of life, which revolves around horses, and cattle. I wouldn't still be here. Within my first 6 months here, I had the pick of any horse that I had schooled. The rest is history. Here are 2 photos, which I took trailing cows home for the winter. There is always a lead cow, that has made the trip several time prior. They move well, especially when they are strung out, with the wind in the faces, to keep them cool. Making the riders job easy, just along for the ride. I rode to the top of a hill, to take the first shot, looking down on the cows, and the vast expanse of the landscape. Once they had a drink, I rode on in front to open the gate. (one of my all time favourite landscape shots) As seen through Meg's ears, and I added Nell. Extracted her head, overlay.1 point
