  6. I am submitting black and white photos that are part of my father's collection. They were taken in the 1920s-1930s. I did not try to fix these, except for blemishes that would have been distracting.

  8. Here is my great-grand Magic who is 3 with a brand-new baby brother, Raja Blue. She is thrilled and Mama Lucy has trouble getting him back to nurse him. The papers are all from true heart digitals, one of the kits Cassel offered with the lesson. The title font is Snap with a paper showing woodgrain as the fill and the journaling font is Tempus Sans. The frame is from AHA Somewhere in Time. The clip is labeled PSBT_Songbird_Element from one of the other kits.

  9. Thanks Ann! That's exactly what I did for this project. I had it set way up to the best quality, and I didn't realize it! It is nice to be back in PSP land. I haven't done any layouts in a while, so I have forgotten a lot. We traveled out west last winter and enjoyed every minute of our time in California, Arizona, and New Mexico!

  11. We love visiting White Sands National Park, located in New Mexico. The white dunes are incredible, and even on a warm day outside, the sand is still cool because it is made up of gypsum. Have you ever been to this National Park?

  13. Sunset Cliffs is one of my favorite sights in San Diego, CA, because I love the waves crashing into the cliffs. I didn't realize there would be days when we would appreciate having a winter coat!! Even when it's a bit cool outside, I thoroughly enjoy the ocean.

  14. Day 9 took longer than I thought, because I had some tradesman installing a new water heater. Anyway now completed. I have definitely learnt new ideas from you Carole. One especially is by using Ctl Y, which makes it easier to add the effects on many of my objects. Thank you for that tip.

  15. Hi I am a little late to the party. Here is my project for New. When I saved it 600x600 the forum told me my file was too big. I don't what I did wrong. I resaved it 500x500.

  16. Hi, It was a lot of fun, no problems arose this time, and I figured out a few things myself (I like to sharpen straight away when I reduce it). I just wish I had known where you can bend text, for example into a semicircle. The "Peak-Blues" kit is from Tiny Turtle, the photo is mine and the fonts are Oliver and Orlando Samuel.

  17. Hi, now part 4 is also finished. This time I had the problem, that the tool options bar was not docked at the top. It was freely movable and had to be expanded with a small arrow on the right. I looked at the docking options, but there were ticks everywhere, including the tool options. How can I fix this important bar? And yes Carole, I managed to do that with the fill options.

  18. I've made a lot myself: such as background from colors out of the pics and a texture. But also the scratches. The ornament is from a font named Azalea ornaments. The photos I gathered from the internet. I had fun making this I hope you have fun watching it. 😆 Carole I had some trouble with the edge, the eraser didn't do the correct remove although I had all the good numbers. It's visible in the right corner down that I had to go over several times. And at the bottom of the big scratch, it's not all removed.

  20. Now we'll see more of your winter pix of the critters around you. Winter photography is often more beautiful than summertime. It captures the "weather vibe" more clearly.

  21. O, Yes. Your name was not familiar to me but now I know you. These feelings you are having are quite normal. Are these your first footsteps in scrapbooking? You will learn a lot here. The possibilities are legion in PSP. Seeing your work you have a good feeling for colors. That is the halve work already. Good luck further with this trajectory. I hope to see more of you. If you are stuck once there are a lot of helpers here.

  28. Carole, I quite agree about the shadow on the flower stamp. When working on it, I kept lowering the number on the shadow, and it still didn't look right. I'll go back and take it off completely. Thank you!

  29. I found this kit on Gingersnaps and couldn't resist using it with a Halloween theme for the Bootcamp. Meet the Creepy Family that's coming for Halloween! Everything on the layout came from that one kit, called ID-Face in the Photograph. The kit has 11 folders filled with embellishments and 3 of papers but none of the extras like alphas or journal cards. The papers are a little odd as they are divided into texture, outdoor and indoor shots. There is very little color in this kit. The font for the title is Before the Rainbow enhanced by the Ripple Distortion Effect.

  31. Should you ever get the opportunity, take it. For more detailed info on shooting, use the widest lens you have.(for better colour) For crisper shots of the sky, focus on something in the foreground, in manual. I have trees, or buildings around the yard. Use the lowest aperture number you have. For more crisp shots use 3-15 seconds shutter speed. It's important to remember that the night sky is moving at a fast rate, which the naked eye can not see. Keep your ISO as low as possible, by adjusting it. Adjust the settings to suit your camera. At this time of year, and on into winter, the sky has less debris, producing sharper images. I also recommend you wrap up warm, take extra batteries, as the cold weather drains batteries quickly, especially when it's 20 or 30 below. PS. Woke to a blanket of snow this morning. -8c Winter has arrived!

  33. I have been to Rotterdam, only the once, over 40 yrs ago. I suspect it has change a lot since then. From what I can remember it's a beautiful city. I have also flown over the Netherlands countless times, at various times of year, to land at Schiphol airport, to catch the sky hopper for Caerdydd airport. My favourite time of year is when the rows and rows of every colour imaginable of Tulips are in flower, waiting to be harvested. It's certainly a spectacular splash of colour, looking down from above. I think I may be just a little to far north for you to pop in for a cuppa, when you are over next. We shall never say never will we meet in person one day.

  34. Did someone mention Northern Lights!!!!!!! September and October is the best time of year to see the Northern lights, although they dance throughout the year. At this time of year they are overhead in my area. Only last night, I was out watching the lights. They weren't green, but white, still a mesmerizing sight to behold. Prior to moving here, I had only ever seen them on the telly. Photo taken 20th September , looking north, out back amongst the trees. It's a good idea to take shots with something in the foreground. Manual, F2.8, aperture mode, shutter speed varies, 1000 plus. It is imperative that you use a sturdy tripod, with weights, to maintain absolute stillness. Taking loads of shots, to get one half tidy one. Sounds like you live in a lovely area Michele, and happy where you are.

  36. Project 3 We love the ruby throated hummingbird, which is the only one we see here in Georgia. We put up feeders all around the house, and in with some of our flowers. They become adjusted to us, and will hover near us "checking us out." They're very curious birds. They also have incredible memories and will remember what flowers and feeders they've been to in previous years, and return again the following years. 37. Ladies you make me so envious; to have all that nature at your doorstep. I live in the Netherlands and we are a small country where it is impossible to find a spot without light pollution. Noise is another issue because we have roads and railways almost everywhere and our nature is more like a big park. Of course it isn't all bad and I can hear the little birds sing early in a spring morning. And the sparrows have their evening coming together for spending the night in the trees. I was born and spend my youth in Rotterdam, a big city. Nowadays I live in a nice enough village with the possibility to go for a walk outside in a bit more rural setting of farmland and a small woodland park. But it isn't advisable to go there on your own as soon as it is getting dark or in the twilight. I have been to visit my family in the States 3 times now and while there we did a couple of short roadtrips that at least have given me a glimpse of the vastness, when you are riding for hours without seeing very few cars, only grassland and some farmbuildings in the distance. Hopefully next year I can go there again and if I come somewhere near one of you it would be great to meet in person. At the moment I don't have concrete plans, it depends on my daughter when it will be a good moment to come over and my home situation must allow it too. In the meantime I enjoy all the stories, the photos and layouts that are posted here.

  38. BOOTCAMP 7-SANCTUARY -The title font is Belisha treated to a Chisel effect. The text font is Franklin Gothic Semi. The background is a photo of a local field treated with the Luminance layer effect. The bird is from "cpjess-tomorrow" kit and the top and bottom elements are from "ID-Face in the Photograph" kit. A bit of explanation about the center photo: It was taken by my security camera which is mounted on a pole at the corner of the porch. You can see the pole's shadow on the left of the photo. Those stray cats are very skittish and hard to photograph.

  40. I haven't got a clue what it is like to live in a city, or any built up area. All I know is that I couldn't live in any urban area. I regard myself as being very lucky, that I was born into farming, married a farmer, and finally ended up here on a prairie farm. Both my children were born into farming, and still live in rural areas. My granddaughters were born into farming too. It's a wonderful lifestyle. It doesn't suit everyone though, thankfully we are all different.

  41. This is NOT a political statement. It is a heartfelt (simplistic?) desire for peace...wherever there is open conflict. I kept thinking of the song and made a layout to clear it out of my head. The message in 1969 is one we can still use today.

  46. Still working on it. I guess this is about midway in the total trip. We are now in Wyoming and will be there for a couple of days. The campground is 7000 feet, and with my COPD, it is pretty tough breathing at first. Second day I felt better and went with Joe and Laurie to some of the places they went to on this day. The flag and seal for Wyoming is from the web and the curvy road sign is from Pixel Scrapper (also the 2 rv's on the concrete road).
