A VERY big thank you to Ann, I am now able to at least share a bit of what I created! ❥ Day 1 I haven't been outside of the farm in ages. So I chose a vacation that I have dreamed of since I was a little girl, Fashion Week in Paris! I spent countless hours with my Auntie, watching all the fashion shows & cutting favorites from magazines, to save in a box for future inspiration. We would frequent our most treasured fabric store to touch and feel the newest trends, all the while dreaming it was me that was to model in those lovely dresses and my Auntie and I that would sew them. I was no more the model than a couture seamstress, so instead, I clung to my roots and farmed instead! HaHaHa I am so used to making my projects at 3600X3600 and though resizing, not having to watch the actual file size. I went just a little too far on this first day, that I had to lower the quality by quite a bit. I added the original to my Photobucket HERE , if you would like to see the original size & quality. (I will place all my regular sized files in this folder from the Campus, so please feel free to take peeks as you wish). * I have been using challenges and now these workshops as well, for compiling some of my better pieces, to show in my new shop. This allows me to get 2 tasks done at the same time, and in it, saving much time. Fonts used are: AdornS Condensed Sans & P22 Typewriter7 points

Here is my Day One map/trip project featuring a jaunt my daughter and granddaughter took from Pennsylvania, USA, to Toronto, CA, last week. Their route goes from Matamoras, PA, to Newark Airport in NJ by car, and from there the flight to Toronto. I started out with the template but ended up paring it down a lot. I like playing with maps!7 points

Day 1. I'm a little late starting mine but am focusing on a holiday to southern Turkey this year. Should have used the same map for my background and to make my Turkey overlay as they are slightly different in perspective. The examples shown so far from you all look inspiring. I have used a gradient fill for my main shape and added the shadow.6 points

Back to my gaming group now. I've had the illustration for years so I don't remember where it came from; I used a mask to frame it. In order to balance it out, one of Cassel's corner punches came in handy. The font is 11S01 Black Tuesday Offset; I got it free from somewhere about ten years ago. I didn't have a system for saving information about the fonts, etc. back then. I'm doing a better job now. lol6 points

Lesson 1 Travel Tale:: When I went to Germany in 2011 on one if my annual visits to Mom, I was asked by my Red Hat friends and members to take our red hat along for the trip. My task was to to place the hat in various spots and take lots of pictures. So, I did and Mom, the hat and I had lots of fun finding interesting places the hat would approve of. So, stay tuned for the Red Hat's Travel tales. I used Google Map for this. The drop shadows for the countries did not want to play nice, so I gave up on those.5 points

Here's my Day 1. I had absolutely no inspiration so it's pretty boring. LOL4 points

Here's a card I made for an old friend. I used a mini kit from Gina Jones at PS. The musical element is a nod to how we met years ago...Concerts at Jones Beach Theatre. The font is Blaster and it's in my system fonts.4 points

Most of the elements are from a template by AnnieC included in the March 2021 ALFLT Blog Train. There was a lot of improvising to fit it into FB's new pic size. I had the opportunity to add a paper fold I made in the Creative Scrap tutorials; it helped balance the l/o. The font is About Loving from CF. Hope my cousins liked the card.4 points

I'm a bit late but I'm doing this workshop (or the former challenge) for the 3 time now and I used knowing what is coming to make day1 and 2 before I submitted my layout. Now I haven't have to come back to it later to add some more things like the route we took. I used the template from day one but changed it for my needs. As embellishments I used the state flags, colors, seals, flowers and birds, which I already had downloaded for my album about my journey to America earlier this year. I will use my photos and I'll try to pick different ones then in my album. As usual I won't use photos from my family, I don't like to blur their faces.3 points

Before I go to the Travel Challenge Workshop, I finished my work with Lab 11 Mod 6. Stitched Shape, Double Scallop Rectangle (I really wanted to make one as a circle, but wasn't able to manage it), surfboard (I did 3). All done. I used the title from one of the Vector Workshop layouts, the sun sticker from another lab. The background water paper was one I made in my Chattanooga album. The picture was taken by Laurie.3 points

Michele, Although every page you create is uniquely different, your style resinates through. Whether it's a greeting card, scrapbook page a Diva page, or whatever. You can turn your hand to creating anything.3 points

If it would help you at all, don't adjust the size, use them as stated.I use the guides, and zoom right in to get them precisely aligned. Like Michele, I like to get every detail right.I have also done templates of all of them. I agree with you Michele, the more you use them the easier it gets. You have to be constantly repetitive to master most tools in PSP to become proficient. So don't give up Suzzy, as those punches are an invaluable asset to any project.3 points

@Michele This is a change of pace for your Divas! Nice to see they can "let down their hair" on vacation! ?3 points

I am with @Mary Solaas on that one. I too would greatly appreciate others pointing out any spelling errors I make.3 points

Thank you so much, @Sue Thomas. I try to challenge myself as I am not intuitively creative. I get so much inspiration from everyone here.2 points

These are such great layouts "youall"! You are giving me a jolt of creativity to get started on my trip. I've wanted to do a photo book on the trip Joe, Laurie and I took in 2021 in the RV. I'm not a big fan of RV travel, but it has its advantages. It was north and west from Memphis, TN and while I've used a google map for the background on previous travel workshops, your inspirational use of maps are giving me food for thought. I'm late in getting started as things have kind of piled up on me at home, but I'll get busy.2 points

Looking forward to your Red Hat stories, Anita. I've heard of the group but don't know the background so please enlighten me. ?2 points

@Suzy You're probably being too hard on yourself. I understand that as I agonize over almost every detail of my projects. I've had a tough time with the border punches, but the more I use them, the easier it gets. When you have time, just play with them. That will give you more confidence as you'll be learning while you play.2 points

I had an error in one of my layouts in the spelling and I appreciated it being pointed out to me. If one is going to have their layouts printed, I am sure we appreciate proofreading by knowledgeable people.2 points

First of all, come and say HI if once you register for this workshop. We want to know who else will be there, on our side to inspire us. Remember that it is NOT a contest. Once the workshop is started, on August 21st, you can post your pages, and your stories (if it is too small to read, you can always copy and paste the text, if you want). Remember to resize your image to about 600 pixels before uploading it so it won't slow down the site when we have lots of your masterpieces. If you are using double pages, it might be better to split them in half and post both halves separately, otherwise they will be too small to really see. Now, pack your bag and grab your ticket. Take off will be soon. In case you see this post before it is announced elsewhere, congratulations, you are very observant. If you want to register, here is where you can reserve your seat.1 point

My grandson sent me many pictures of his Southeast Asia 3 month vacation. The map is from Google with two pictures merged. The plane is a Preset shape, the palm tree is AI, the escape circle is from Marisa Lerin as well as the location markers. The paper materials and the plaid are my own. The suitcase is from an LSJ kit.1 point

Really great layout. I had heard of the red hat group before, but enlighten us with your experience with the group. This is another really great way to show your travels. That red hat "travelling" is such a good idea. Way to go!1 point

I love it - using pastels for the state shapes is great - it has a light and airy feel to it. Why in the world was the trip terrible?????1 point

Thanks...pretty exciting. We've been in the same house in Crystal Lake for 34 years. Time to get rid of stairs and be closer to our son.1 point

This was a quick easy one, once I found photos that had similar colours to the Palette. The norm for me is firstly choosing photos, and not the other way round. the B7b44e was used in the bottom element, where I used a photo, overlay soft light, luckily it retained most of the colour in the palette. The frames around the photos and the text paper is dce6e7. Decorative frame is 9bc0de. Background papers are 40524b and 618a84. Out of bounds, inner bevel on decorative frame, a little noise on the background papers to give a little texture. The little female in the middle photo, (I think she is a juvenile) is in a state of torpor, all fluffed up. I put their feeders out at 5.45am, as I fetch them indoors at night, as the evenings can get quite chilly, and the last thing they want is chilled feed. I gently picked her up, warmed her in my hands for a couple of minutes, placed her back on the perch, next to the feeder. She was fine, ready to start the day after a long feed of sugar water. I don't scimp on the sugar either. Every year the hummers arrive by the 3rd August, they stay for the whole of August before embarking on their long journey south. The feeders stay out until mid September just in case stragglers pass through. They are truly flying gems, with amazing powers of flight and often glittering iridescent colours. To me when they arrive, I know that Autumn is quite literally around the corner.1 point

Although it was not announced previously, I finally finished extra templates for our DIAMOND members. Stay tuned!1 point

This is such a beautiful layout, Ann! This proves that even without traveling, one can create great pages.1 point

Just signed in to say Hi. I saw the new workshop a few hours ago. Hope again, I will be able to participate and pull through the WS, because next week "Scripting Study Group" is beginning....May be I' m too optimistic and daring right now ?. Actually I try to do at least one little exercise every evening after work to get more practice again. By the way, Ann, you look smart with your hat ?!1 point

I'm in. I have enjoyed doing a Travel Tale in the past and once I had exhausted my personal travels I decided to make fantasy travel pages. Last time I "went" to Botswana, in Southern Africa, because I'm a fan of the book series The No 1 Ladies Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith which is set in that country and I always wanted to experience it IRL. I need to decide where I'm traveling to next but there's still time between now and Aug 21. Here is an example of my work:1 point
