  1. Here is the layout. I had to start from zero, as I got the message "Unable to open file" as I was almost finishing it in PSP 2023... I think it has to do with the text tool, but not sure...So I recreated it in PSP 2019 just to be sure. Credits: (1) Template: SwL_AroundtheWorldTemplate2 (2) Heart ps_janet-scott_33385_be-mine-brown-crochet-heart_cu.png (3) Carole: Basic background paper following the Lab5-09 Text paper tutorial, and a paper from the internet... Also used the Custom Coin script.

  2. I have done Boot Camp before, but I haven't been doing much lately so I thought I would do B C again to hopefully get me in the mood to do more.

  3. I should have given some details on my Mother's Day pic, but I was sad and missing my mom. Anyway, Cristina and Suzy: I used one of Cassel's edge punches for this project. I absolutely adore all of her punches, but the edge punches are so versatile. I had a bunch of layers as I had to do a bunch of cutouts. Thanks for all the positive feedback. ❤️

  4. Wow! Just wow! That is really great! ALLL those pictures in alll those little not-squares! I am so sorry you had to redo the effort because to my mind it was Herculean! The gradient metal on the meridian is such a nice detail, too.

  5. I'll possibly be using this photo on one of my layouts. The wisteria is blooming at my daughter's farm in Mendocino.

  7. J= Jumped to my defence....when I was a toddler in the backyard and a garter snake was in the vicinity. She armed herself with a shovel and tucked me under her arm and was ready to go to war. ? (side note: I love snakes and probably would have being quite happy to "pet" the snake, my mom however was terrified of them).

  8. Here is a photo I think I will use. I am going to limit myself to ONE photo date (November 20, 2011) on a visit to the pond at Sardis Park near where I lived in Chilliwack, BC. A very small pond that takes only 10 minutes to walk all the way around. It is on a flight path of waterfowl; mostly Canada Geese. It was only a 10 minute walk from my house and part of my "rehab" after spinal fusion surgery in May of that year. As soon as I could carry my camera and walk for 10 minutes that's where I went. Looking forward to the bootcamp and looking at all the photo's and layouts from all the registrants.

  9. Hi, I tried a tag, using preset shapes, a rope tubea texture, and a couple of brushes. Didn't do a great job on the shadowing, but first attempt at it. Oh I also used the pen tool to round my top.

  10. First of all, come and say HI once you register for this Bootcamp. We want to know who else will be there, on our side to cheer everyone up. Everyone started as a beginner, so don't ever compare yourself to others. You will learn one tool at a time, one concept at a time and you will create one project at a time. Everyone will have different photos and possibly different supplies so every project will be different. Once the Bootcamp is started, on May 15th, 2023, you can post your projects in here. Remember to resize your images to about 600 pixels AND saving in jpg format, before uploading them to the gallery (check this tutorial to upload to the gallery) so it won't slow down the site when we have lots of your masterpieces. Try to follow the tutorials at least enough so that we can recognize what lesson you completed. Now, let's get ready! If you missed the registration link or if you found this thread before I announce it (some people are very observant), HERE it is. Share it around if you want. Although this Bootcamp is mostly meant to help beginners, we won't exclude anyone for "excess experience". Some participants are back for a second (or third) round. You are always welcome. Remember that it will be the exact same tutorials so don't be surprised. I am sure you will now do something slightly different than the previous time. Since anyone can follow the whole Bootcamp using the trial version of PaintShop Pro, this is a perfect opportunity for anyone to give it a try and see how they like the program, so share with your friends who MIGHT consider using PaintShop Pro. The 7 tutorials will be spaced out over almost 2 weeks. This should make it easier for participants to follow without feeling stressed (it should never be stressful!).

  11. Hai, Jannette here. I knock on this door to inform you about my absence. Sinds begin in January I had pc trouble. It seemed my Windows password was out of date, indeed it was one from the start of Windows. Another era, another requirement in those days. I have changed a lot of passwords from Microsoft etc. but the windows must have slipped my mind. It was horrible, I couldn't place anything. I saw some of what you made but not even a mark from my side was possible. And even mail from Cassel came in but I couldn't respond to the clicks. Since I fixed that passwords slowly get back to normal Internet traffic. Not everything was down, and my Campus password was recently renewed. So I did not understand at all. I hope now I have them all renewed. I also got warnings that this site possibly is not a safe one. I had to give permission to enter with an extra warning. I discovered too late that there is here a place to introduce myself. so I do now. I'm Jannette Nieuwboer. The last name is translated: Newfarmer. Nieuw is nearby pronounced as the English 'new', and Boer: the b and r are the same as the English but the OE: is pronounced as the "U" in the word 'TOO', I do not hope this puzzle is too difficult. I'm in my 74th year. I live alone, my husband is suffering from Louis's Body Dimension and lives in a care home. I visit him every day so do not have as much time for PSP as I want. In the past iv done a lot of PSP. I work in the 2020 edition as I'm fond of plugins. For now, I will keep this edition. I have a metabolic disorder myself. I get some meds for it but also have to keep a diet. And have to cook everything myself, even baking bread. I eat 85 - 90 % vegan. (I eat eggs, yogurts, and butter. To get my daily portion of protein I eat a lot of lentils and chickpeas too. I v learned to cook them tasty for example chickpeas muffins. lentil pancakes, and lentil pizzas, and from both burgers. See you on campus.

  13. Well, since I was late signing up, perhaps mine went out separately, whereas the rest were in a group? I don't know the mechanics involved with member's emails. Whatever, I hope the other people on this course are finding this page ok.

  14. Cristina - Really a WOW layout. I'm just playing again. Thought that that Victorian Enamel corner I had created earlier might make a nice touch on a photo. So I created a mask and then used it.

  16. I've illustrated my setup with a little infographic. You'll find there's a Master Class for that, too, though mine here is not the same style. I just clipped a copy of my workspace using MS Office One Note. Cassel - I couldn't use the link to this Forum in today's email. It went back to January, 2023.

  17. This is a beautiful layout, your mom would have been thrilled and proud to receive it. it never gets easier does it. Random moments of sadness for not having my mom or dad to talk to; to make things better when I'm sad or sick and just for being there. I dont like being an orphan.

  19. WOW! this is AWESOME! It looks like a lot of work and to have lost it must have being so defeating. That background is superb. We are all lucky you rallied and remade the layout for us to enjoy.

  20. Sherie, I am not an expert in shadowing, but I think you did great with this tag.

  21. Michele, your card is wonderful -- such attention to detail, and the corners are perfect! (Somehow my eye always goes to the corners on rectangles and to the top center on circles.)

  22. Susan, thank you, the font itself is not transparent, you make that with the cutout effect. It is well explained in the master class. You can use any thick font for that, I used Mongolian Baiti font, I think it's a Windows font.

  23. That song reminds me of my parents and their collection of the Time-Life records they had. It's a great layout. Looking forward to seeing the actual physical book you ge made.

  24. The 2nd page will be that DIY Challenge of the Glen Miller Gardens (a pond in the gardens). It doesn't match my running themes of the trip, so I include it here as the 2nd page which goes with the coloring, etc. of the 1st page.

  25. I've been busy making transparent alphas. With the help of Masterclass Alpha Making 2 I made the full upper and lower case alphabet and the digits, as well as some punctuation marks. Here I have posted some examples.

  27. I have been working on a congratulations for your new home card for my niece. I may have already posted the front. The inside was suggested by my husband since we were gifting them a Home Depot gift card. The tools are from Digital Scrapbook and the ribbons and balloons from Creative Fabrica.

  28. This is fabulous. What a great sign this would make framed and hanging in the house. I wonder what kind of advice my cats would give me. Given their superior and judging stare, maybe I dont want to know.

  30. Finally finishing up the April Double-Page Challenge #6. Here is Shadow, one of the star black leopards at The Wildcat Sanctuary in Sandstone, MN. She's quite a gal! I used the Vector Tube script on the title and the font is Ravie. The journaling font is Kleymissky. The background is my own Shiny Paper and the stars are from my Rustic Kit. The paperclip is from Marisa Lerin and I used the Open Book script with a gradient cover.

  31. I havent made a tag yet. An unexpected passing away of my sister-in-law's mother on Sunday had me working on my condolence layout instead. Whew, that goodness I was able to go back to the Build A Kit workshop to the frame section and follow the instructions again. I used Lab 13-1 again for the shape, hearts looked weird inside hearts so i used circles. Frame is using Add borders from the master class Framing 101. My photo, and fonts are Romantic Serif (title), Sea Gardens (words in the template) and Audaciti (journaling). The title does have a bevel to help it stand out a bit, also has a very small shadow. reduced opacity on the title and journaling because black was too contrasty. I used the selection tool to fit my words in on the left side. the right side I just used a right aligment as it looked better that way. Nothing bad to report with PSP 2023. today it outshined me and any issue's I had was my dull brain at work and not paying attention.

  32. I am going over the Tags Masterclasses and just trying to create examples of tags. I haven't had time to apply to any designs. When I made the rectangular selections for the striped effects I used a ‘Feather’ value to blur the edges. My VectorPaint script did not work to start with until I realised, following the first Tags Masterclass, that after drawing the rectangle, I needed to right click on the rectangle image and ‘Convert to Path’. I didn’t see the ‘Convert to Path’ instruction in the latest Masterclass so I wonder whether it could be a difference in the versions of PSP we are running? I am on Ultimate 2021. My F11 key wasn’t working but I looked that up in View/Palettes/Brush Variance or Palettes/Brush Variance. Note to self!

  34. Oh no, that is such a defeating feeling to lose your work. I had the program (2023) crash twice on a layout I was doing yesterday. I had a windows error pop up to tell me PSP stopped working and it was shutting it down. I would rather it have it's compatibility problem then just shut down while I'm waiting for a tool to load. At least the other problem is just changing another setting. I did leave my 2022 version on my computer, initially while I was setting up 2023. I think I will leave it on. It's not like the computer is old or slow, it's got a lot of ram and another SSD so now it's only 1/2 full. I always just asssumed it was something I was doing wrong. Now I'm not so sure, if others are having problems too. It's a bummer no matter what the reason it crashes or misbehaves.

  35. The animal kingdom celebrates Mother's Day, too! Out my patio door I saw what looked like the back end of a gray squirrel with two tails. She appeared to be burrowing under my concrete patio. I opened the slider and tossed out a few peanuts in the shell. She popped out with her baby! So sweet! ? The title font is Oswald Stencil. The tree is a stamp.

  36. My granddaughter did a "photo shoot" when she was pregnant with Logan back in 2021. I only recently got this striking black and white so had to use it! The title font is Droid from the newest Lab. The background is shiny silver from Sheila. The splatter paint is from my own kit as is the star. I embedded the bear top right and used the sculpture texture effect on the frame.

  39. We have already had Mothering Sunday here in the UK back in March. However, like many people I get tangled up in Family History and have some photo's of my ancestors on Ancestry. I did something with my Mum's photo over this past weekend to make it a bit more interesting. I used one of Carole's corner brushes that i bought a few weeks ago, joined it up with straight lines, then used Carole's Bronzit script which makes a fab and unique frame befitting of my lovely mother. I also added a corner tube and used the Top Left Mirror Simple plugin to get it all aligned. I love how it turned out and is a tribute to my long deceased Mum who I miss more than ever. Love to all the Mothers here and all that can, have a fab and loving day.

  41. Day 6 Later, during the making of this project I thought the photo's should of been a bit larger, but it's ok for now. Not all the photo's were suitable for this lay out when I had chosen them. All the papers, elements I had in my stash, most come from pixelscrapper.
