We have already had Mothering Sunday here in the UK back in March. However, like many people I get tangled up in Family History and have some photo's of my ancestors on Ancestry. I did something with my Mum's photo over this past weekend to make it a bit more interesting. I used one of Carole's corner brushes that i bought a few weeks ago, joined it up with straight lines, then used Carole's Bronzit script which makes a fab and unique frame befitting of my lovely mother. I also added a corner tube and used the Top Left Mirror Simple plugin to get it all aligned. I love how it turned out and is a tribute to my long deceased Mum who I miss more than ever. Love to all the Mothers here and all that can, have a fab and loving day.3 points

I experience the same lack of inspiration and I find going back to the Bootcamp to be helpful to me. I can help the newcomers and try to come up with something original for the familiar layouts. Helping others is the key for me.3 points

Thank you, Corrie! ❤️ I think we all have ups and downs, which also applies to creativity... Just mine lack of it is taking too long for my taste. ?... At least in the meantime, I was doing something I enjoyed very much: Scripting Course and Build-A-Kit Workshop. Good that Carole has something for everybody!3 points

I combined Carole's flowery spring frame with the flora font, added my great-grand Magic with a little linoleum as a background and two corner brushes and came up with this. I sort of thought the font would look a little puffy on its own but mine didn't so I helped it along with one of our title lessons from March.3 points

Playing further. I got some freebies, I think from CF, they are from "T" and the picture for them showed them as metal outlines. Well, when I got them, they were just outlines! So, I've been playing around with 2 alpha creation tutorials that were here last month, but were old. Well, one was to create an alpha metallic, so I used it to apply to my freebie. This is the result.1 point

I finally did the 1 2 3. The background pic and the Osprey pic are from the Hog Island Osprey nest. the frame if from this week's FreeDigitalMinikit. the folded ribbon is from CreativeFabrica the buttons are from (I don't have a clue) The folds in the background image were created from "Folded-paper-textures-collection-27671119" downloaded from C F.1 point

If you are referring to the Abstract Curve plugin, it is simply easier when you work on a project to add those decorative lines directly onto your project. To me, it is simply fewer clicks. And even if you don't use it often, at that price, it is worth it! ?1 point

Carole - what is the advantage of having that as a plugin? I already have FilterForge and don't use it as often as I probably should - need to investigate it more, I guess. I have your script to create enamel elements and have been playing with the various scripts I have bought, not just on your birthday, but through the years. I'm going to post the best of the enamel elements I made. The ones I made with a flat element with no contours didn't come out except as a sort of tray, but they are nice too, so I guess I'll post them also.1 point

I have it as a PSP plugin. It shows in my list of plugins after I set the File Location to it.1 point

Thank you, Cristina. I fight against the lack of creativity all the time. That's one of the reasons I'm making more of an effort. It took me many hours between searching my few original pics and getting inspiration from looking at templates.1 point

Cristina good to hear that you are on your way back and I think all of us have encountered those dreadful moments or months when you can't make anything decent how hard you may try. Take your time!!!1 point

I also used NoteTab when learning to code webpages but I did get the paid version. I did several websites 25 years ago and did the coding from scratch. I haven't had those websites for years but I am thankful for the classes I took on learning HTML coding and CSS coding. I can actually look at the coding of a page and see where/why they are issues. Sadly I no longer have the program since I've had multiple computers since then. I never thought to move it to the next computer since I wasn't using it... But coding of webpages is so far advanced of what it was in the 90's.1 point

Back in the day when I was learning to make webpages I acquired Note Tab Plus as an alternative to the Windows Notepad. Note Tab numbers the lines so you can find your place in the code. It also has little scripts of its own to automate repetitive tasks which made things easier. I still use Note Tab. It's a Swiss product and I always had the free version. I don't code any more. Left it behind when I transitioned to Dreamweaver for webpages. Honestly don't miss it. Not my favorite thing.1 point

Yes, I’ve opened it in Notepad, but then I panic when I see all the symbols. YIKES! HOWEVER, I have written a script myself, and it is one I bound and use every single time I open PSP. (I wrote it by performing the steps and having PSP record it).1 point

The $75.00 price tag is what stops me from purchasing the class, well that and the non-English, non-actual words in a script. It’s a decision….Diamond member or Scripting class? More and more and more finished useable scripts by Cassel or Scripting class? So far, Scripting class has lost out, LOL!1 point

Cristina, I'm so glad you are back at it. I know about a creative slump. It is my norm to start any creative project and go through phases of liking and hating it. Often having to set it aside for days (months and years too). it's frustrating to sit down to create and there is nothing. When I do photography (if I'n not in a current project) it takes me a while shooting to get warmed up. My creative juices arent like tap I can just turn on, more like a slow leak that takes time to become a bigger leak. Often doing something as far removed from photography and layouts gives me inspiration...as does the campus (in a big way). Want some really cool ways to make paper, I just watched the master class A Beautiful Mess. It's really good and it just has you playing around with effects/techniques. I highly recommend it. Sometimes creating with nothing in mind is a good place to get inspired1 point

Michele, this is so nice and colorful. I like it very much. Even if you've been posting less, I saw many interesting and nice layouts... For a long time, I've not been active in any of the challenges due to a lack of creativity... Hopefully, this will change.1 point

Susan, It's so good when we have a happy accident, isn't it? So many times, I struggled to get something I liked, so I stopped creating layouts... I haven't done it anymore, as whatever I'd created was not to my liking... Very slowly, I am back to working with them... The Build-A-Kit Workshop helped during the no-creativity layout phase.1 point

I'm making an effort to participate in more challenges and for a change everything is mine. I used cass's brad factory and filigrane scripts. It's my first 1-2-3 challenge so I hope what I did qualifies. Any and all suggestions are welcome.1 point

Many, many thanks Cristina. I suppose being minimalistic, with some fine details, could be my signature.1 point

here I used the curved photo script , the airbrush paper script and the openbook to finish my day 6 project1 point

Scatters can be many things including paper or metal. They can be translucent or not. If I use a scatter there are times I don't even use a shadow. But for the most part I use a very small offset (maybe 1, 2 at the most). The opacity is usually 50 or lower with a blur of no more than 10. But there are times the the scatter item is thicker so the settings would need to be adjusted just like adjusting for different types of flowers or frames.1 point

Corrie, many months ago, did you post a picture of how you organize your scripts and other purchases from the store. It looked like an Excel spreadsheet and it had the preview photo on it as well, and the instructions and other information (what folder to put it in etc). I want to do a similar thing with my scripts, tubes etc. Just having the Name and Instructions in a MSWord document doesnt work for me. Excel has conditional sorting, and other types of sorting that will work better.1 point

Very much. I have a number of them where I did the bargello pattern. Your script is on my wish list for the next sale. My original inspiration was from a glass artist who made complex bargello patterns in fused glass. Soon I as I started where I work now and saw the spines of flyers or paper sections I knew I wanted to do that with paper. The whole project was supposed to be called F & G because that was the sections of the paper that I inserted on those nights. My co-workers thought I was nuts, now they dont even bat an eye when they see me taking bundles home. (these are left over bundles, sometimes there is really cool patterns but that flyer will run out so I dont get them)1 point

My favorite script is cass-alphaseparator which I actually downloaded by accident. I have found this script really helpful in making adjustments to my Titles and words because the script does all the work of separating and formatting for you on the vector letter.1 point

Rene I did bind it to my toolbar too, it's so convenient that way!1 point

I didnt use the template, just made the masks myself. Raster-To-Mask would have saved me a lot of time. On the other hand, I've finally committed to memory how to make the masks. Actually, it really didnt take that much time to make them. I wonder which would be faster to see. Carole making a mask or the script making a mask...my bet is on Carole.1 point

Thanks, Rene. It was the Yin_template 501.psd that I used for the scattered photos for Lesson 4 of the Double Page Workshop. I think two of the photo areas refused to process with the raster-to-mask script so I did them by hand. The script saved a lot of time considering there were 19 photos all told.1 point

I have only ever used it on PSD templates and have had no problems. I'm guessing it was something with the specific template that caused the glitch. I scrapped 4 of my week in review templates yesterday and used the Raster To Mask and Merge Group Rename on all of them. Worked so well, I did bind them to my custom toolbar!1 point
-
It is my favorite, also, and I use it all the time, though I think I've encountered a glitch when working on a template that started as a PSD. One of the photo areas would not turn to a mask and went all white.?? I ended up doing the mask by hand (had to drag out my written instructions...the script has got me spoiled!)1 point

I got one called Confetti Maker and one called Punched Confetti. I couldnt decide, so I got both. The Build A Kit workshop really taught me that I want to make more of my own elements/papers etc, So I bought things with that in mind. That workshop had a big impact on me. And now I see the value in the Double Page layout too. Love the workshops.1 point

My favorite script is not a fancy one with which you can make great layout but the humble "Raster to Mask" script. It is such a time saver but I did buy it on another occasion. From this sale it has to be the "Custom Confetti" and I only gave it a quick try, because this weekend we had visitors and I wanted to finish the Double Page Workshop first. But I like that it makes confetti from any image design or shape, so it will always match the project I'm doing.1 point

hahaha, you crack me up. Not sure if you remember that abstract spines of the flyers I was taking pictures of. It's those. I keep saying to myself I"m not going to bring home any more flyers. But I see some with a cool color combo or design and I end up at home wth copious bundles of flyers. I'll post a few, but right now I'm late leaving for work. Work is such a hassle when it cuts into my creative time.? PS. they are quite dead (if dead means "stale dated").1 point
