  1. I resized this to 1200 pixels and it was still too big...so here it is at 1000 pixels.

  2. I'm not finished but here is what I have created so far. I decided to use my basketball group as my theme. It has been harder than anticipated as good photos are hard to find. NOVA United celebrates its 20th anniversary this September. This page features some play and places we have played and other projects we participated in. Does not come close to represent everything. I decided to use the open book script...just because.

  3. I used the script from Carole again (scattered photo's) Font is latishine and the swirl is from Maria Lerin if I remember correctly. The text says: shopping in the past and on the right side "a supermerket didn't excist so you had to go from shop to shop.

  4. I finally came up with a sixth layout but it's not the style of that assignment. I used the scattered photos script, the open book script and the title style from last month's title workshop #1. Not real happy with the title but it'll do. The photos are from my daughter in California of her flowering trees in the midst of the redwoods so I went to Pixabay and found a shot of the Redwood National Forest as a background which I treated to a Multiply over a white background and that removed all the color. I liked the effect as the flowering tree photos were more visible. The title font is Cooper Black with Vector Tube effect with rope.

  5. Being the resident fontaholic, I would be remiss if I didn't participate in this challenge. I took the pic I made for my gaming group today and adapted it to this challenge. The Honeycomb font and clip art are from CF. The font on my original is Abongia which was in the Absolute Font Collection bundle from CF, too. I believe it might still be available for the next day or so.

  12. Couldn't find where to post so I'll post here. Carole, I hope you had a simply marvelous, happy birthday. You are so special to all of us in the campus. Hobbits give gifts on their birthdays, but I know you are not a Hobbit. Thank you for your gift. My favorite script of the ones I purchased on your birthday is the folded flower one. I will post my flowers.

  13. By mistake I had downloaded a 3D flower mandela with 6 layers, colored and in png format. I had now clue what to do with it but decided to "assemble" the flower to give it a try before deleting it. The normal shadows didn't give a good result so I tried shadows without an offset and a blur and opacity from 100% on the backlayer to 40% on the toplayer and the little heart has a slight bevel to let it stand out a bit better. I choose a frame from the frames inside PSP and used the Flora Garden font with different colors. At least I had fun making it!

  14. My scripts were a mess when I transferred everything to a new computer. I had purchased scripts that I never downloaded. I now download all my scripts onto the desktop. After I have opened them and placed them in the 2023 scripts folder, I then save both the zipped and unzipped into a folder on my external hard drive specifically for scripts. That way if one is missing in 2023 or other version, I can recopy them. Because of this thread, I discovered that I had the script raster to mask and had never used it. I have been playing with it, and I love it!

  16. I'm still playing with the scripts that I purchased. A new one is cass-scatterbrush which I love. I made a heart pattern and used it to fill a border on an 11by14 image for my grandson's engagement that I would like to have printed on canvas. If there are any suggestions for improvement, please let me know.

  18. Day 1 I have managed to get some work done this week (between the computer and an external drive) in spite of my full disc. I plan on continuing to work on some more of the lessons this week! I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the fabulous creative work that has been posted during the workshop. My pages were Sunflowers from 2022, they are dwarf Sunflowers that I grew in containers on a tabletop. I live in a woodland setting with spots of sunshine, but I have always loved Sunflowers. I have read that you can't grow them under trees, but I think this proves them wrong! If you don't have much space to garden, I would highly recommend giving dwarf Sunflowers a try it is very rewarding!

  20. I'm almost glad Mary is also late with her projects. Had a busy week last week and when I finally sat down ,nothing was to my liking. But here's day 1? My project will be about a museum in the North of the Netherlands. I used Carole's Cut out phrase script for the text, Arial is the font and also Book antiqua, one other font I don't know. I think the template came from pixelscrapper

  22. Me too. Unzipped stuff, and me thinking, that's where that went. I usually have a specific spot the zip and readme folder goes once I'm loaded it into My PSP Resources folders, sometimes I forget to do that. We need a script to catalogue our scripts/store purchases...but where would that script go? hahaha

  23. I am also organizing the purchased folders I created ages ago. While doing this, I noticed I had scripts in 3 different folders; some were unzipped!! This mess explains why I was getting "You already have this script" while trying to buy it again. In the future, when I create a layout, I'll make a point of using at least one script, brush, and tube, as some I use more often than others... A few I never used. ?

  24. I already have a violet! But the begonia might be something to look into.

  26. Thanks so much. That flower script is always making me smile as it is one of my very early scripts. I was still pretty new to scripting when I coded that one. One thing is that I can recognize that flower anywhere! ?

  27. Yep. Like you I would forget to use it since I had to go through the start menu to find it.

  28. Good information Rene. Thank you. that is just my problem. Some have instructions you need to follow and i want to have access to them. I do have all the README files in one folder, but want a visual as well. then I can do a search say for BOWS and get all the ones that have bows, then I can see which one I want to use and how big the ribbon needs to be etc. This is year I get organized....hahaha, just like every year! Really, I mean it this time. Oh oh, that's another fib. Did you put One Note on the bottom bar (task bar?) I have to go diving for mine as I never use it, but seems like lots of people do so it might be worth looking at that one as well.

  29. OK, Project 3. I've used photos with less opacity before, but this is the first time using one on 2 separate layouts and combining them in a double page. As you may see, this wasn't really done well, but as they say, it's good enough for government work LOL. I'm not going to redo it. The subject matter is dear to me. I discovered this monument when Laurie, Joe and I took our RV trip out west to visit family and extended family members after the Covid lockdown; it is located in South Dakota. I love history and am fascinated by the desire to link various areas of the country by highways. There is another highway out east that I discovered on a trip with a friend many years ago. The monument to the road developed from Washington DC to Springfield, IL is located in Zanesville, Ohio. It is located in a building and the monument is a beautifully done series of dioramas showing its development as time went on. And then, of course, we now have Interstate 90 which links New York to Seattle, Washington. Interstate 40 is a very busy highway also and goes from near the eastern seaboard almost to the western seaboard in California. As I love to travel by car, the history of roads really appeals to me.

  30. I know, I keep chatting and showing off those miniature plants. I still have room for a few more. Do you have recommendations? Green plants are nice, but adding some colors could be interesting too. Let's chat.

  31. The question is not whether the scatters need a shadow but what shadow to add. Anything that might be made of paper or such would require a shadow, but when you are talking about translucent elements, that is trickier. Maybe you can get some details in the Shadow Challenges Master Class. However, you are probably on the right direction with reducing the opacity. Remember that the more translucent something is, the less shadow it casts since the light goes through more.

  34. I am very much enjoying your work with miniature plants. They look so cute! I don't know if they can be replicated on this tiny scale, but as you mentioned adding colors, I thought of those two: violet and begonia...

  36. How about a Bird of Paradise plant (Strelitzia) because it's quite sculptural.

  37. Ann, have you tried to lower the opacity of the background page, so that you can see the title more or change the colour of the edge of the title? The layout is wonderful!?

  40. I am not too familiar with flowers but searching online, it seems like the one I made. Do you have an image?

  41. Or maybe some kind of flowering tree, like a cherry tree with blossoms or a pretty maple in the fall. You know how you can buy them when they are small, and they are in big pots. I know a bonsai would be hard to do. If anyone can pull it off, it's you. of course it's spring so a little long rectangular planter box of tulips would be nice too.

  44. Rene, after seeing your comment, I added this script, Merge Group Rename, to my Wish List. Ann and Bonnie, like both of you, I also got the Open Book Script. ? I am sure this script was a hit this time, thanks to Gerry Landreth posting layouts with it... At least, it was the reason I purchased it!

  49. One result of the Carole's Birthday Shopping Spree: I got the Word Slats Script I wanted especially for this photo of Magic saying "CHEESE." I used a pastel shiny paper background and added two PSP Frames, one with translucent edges and one with texture. Added shadows and voilà!
