What are you working on (in May 2021)?

I love it Sue, beautifully showcased my friend. What pretty little birds those tree swallows are. Do you make the nests for the birds yourself? I have a little woven nest that I have just purchased and I need to find someplace to hang it ... out of harms way from cats etcetera. Not sure what type of bird it will attract but hopefully something will find it suitable. ;)

Annie,  you have the Australian  Tree Martin, which is a Swallow. The Tree Swallow and wren houses were made for me by an elderly gentleman.  He likes  making bird houses,  he's very good at woodwork.  He would come and cut down dead trees down for his log stove. In return he has given  me all of the  bird houses that I have. I go to jumble sales looking for tiny to medium sized teapots, and old working boots, which I have dotted around amongst the trees and hedges, making sure that they are well hidden with foliage. They attract many birds, from  the small  wrens sparrows and warblers, to the blackbirds and Robins.  Thank you for your kind comment on  the Swallow page.   You create wonderful pages.

Simple quick frame. I enjoy creating frames. For the frame I chose colours of the new green foliage, for the background paper and Carole's lace tube I used colours from the bird, branches and dead leaf litter.  All native sparrows are very small, and have the most beautiful songs.

Thanks for all the surfer love, ladies. <3

Cristina, what a lovely page to show how they've grown.

Love your swallows and sparrow, Sue. I enjoy how you combine various elements and techniques in a single l/o.

That's a great result you got, Lynda. You should show it to the person who made the tutorial.

Sue, lovely layouts and they do highlight those beautiful photos.

Lynda, really wonderful work.

Annie, I had to laugh at your comment about the layout..." What is this all about?" to "I know what this is all about!"... LOL... It fits the photos perfectly! Thank you, my dear friend!

Michele, thank you! They sure grew, and this was back in 2018!

I'm struggling to keep up with all the wonderfully  inspirational, artistic,  creative pages being posted daily.  The camps is an absolute hive  of activity.  I won't say roll on winter when I can spend more time on the laptop.  At the moment I am seizing every moment of the  lovely weather and everything else  Spring  is offering.  I  kayaked yesterday for the first time since last October.  The water was icy cold, never the less it was lovely to be out on the water. I have to make the most of riding too, before the  hoards of  parasitic insects emerge, and plague the horses, which will  make it  unpleasable to ride for both of us.  Winter does have some advantages. :-)

I take this opportunity to thank all those who have  commented on my pages, they  mean a great deal to me.   It means a lot me, that my photography is  much appreciated, especially my macro shots of insects. The insects are  slowly emerging for another short lived  season.  Combining the art of nature photography and the art of showcasing them gives me great pleasure, and always a challenge, which is a big part of the enjoyment.

I have to give credit to Carole for all that she has taught me over the years through the vast information  she has in the campus, and to those who have inspired me with  their posts, and quite often  instruction.

Lovely to hear that you have a friend who makes the birdhouses Sue. You will have to take a pick sometime to show us one in use. I love this sparrow page ... beautiful showcasing my friend. Now sparrows I am very familiar with, we have heaps of them in Queensland. I love all birds ... in fact, I love all wildlife. I could sit with a cuppa and watch them all day. ;D

Annie,  Here are a few pics of  some of the designs of houses I have. The size of the entrance hole is specific to  each species.  The Wrens having the  smallest hole.  For the Swallows, their hole is larger, but  not to big to allow the sparrows to get in, but not all sparrows are bigger than  the Swallows.  I have only ever opened the lid on 2 houses, while being occupied.  One Swallow and an a Wren.  These are nestling Tree Swallows. The houses are showing their age externally.  Every year, once the inhabitants have left,  I clean every one out, and plug the holes,   ready for another season.

Okay, sorry I have been a bit absent, as has Val. We have both been working 40+ hours a week and now I am finally back on my regular schedule. Now on to ....

Annie: Loving the books you have made from the scripts. I think I bought the notebook script; but I don't recall the open book script. Going to have to check it out. You are really knocking the scripts out of the park...Great grab bag and now I'm thinking I need it.

Corrie: Your layout is awesome. I really like how you used various pictures of the flowers, made the clipart of tulips in the national colors and sthe smae with the country name. "Lente" is a gorgeous layout and useing the colors in your photo for the background papers is a great idea. You did an outstanding job using your "birthday" goodies. Your Mother's Day layout is stunning. The colors are beautiful and really make the photo stand out. Thank you for the information about the flowers being the symbol of Alzheimers. My MIL died from its effects and I miss her sorely. Great job on the Switzerland layout. You really did well on making your own country template.

Bonnie: Never tire of seeing your pickleball layouts. One of these days you are going to have more than enough to make a large tabletop book out of them. You have really made good use of the Florida template, love the background photo. Virginia, wow, you did an amazing job on your own state template. Who needs to buy when we can call on Bonnie, LOL. Both your MFish template and the starburst script template are awesome. Love, love, love the wren layout and the title is stupendous. The background on "nearest and dearest" is perfect for the pictures.

Mary: What a delightful layout you made for the Lab 5 Module 12 lesson. The gradient background is really nice and I love how you "hung" the pictures.

Sue: The slipped in polaroid photo on the Great Horned Owl layout is awesome. The quotes you used were perfect with it as was the colors of the papers. I got tickled as I read the title of the squirrel layout. It is beautifully done and your bead scatters work so well on it. Your book is just great. I really like how you changed the color of the binding to match the book and the addition of the eyeglasses. Lovely picture of the Brown Thrushers. Swallows is a wonderful layout with beautiful colors and interesting information. Your art gallery is adorable. Enjoyed seeing the pics of your birdhouses.

Anne: Great job on altering the frame. Lovely tribute to your mother on the Mother's Day layout. You did a great job on the backgrounds.

Lynda: Fantastic job on making the Illinois mask. Loving the layout. Illinois is one of those states near and dear to my heart. I graduated from Mascoutah Community High eons ago, LOL. Both of your Mother's Day layouts are gorgeous (I just saw what Ann wrote and had to chuckle. I like the rose colored one best because it made the photos and the flowers pop out more. This just goes to show how we all see things differently.) Buttons is fantastic. You should definitely have it printed out, glue it to thin foam board and cut it out. What a great gift it would make. Pretty Woman is a delightful layout with great coloring to the eyes and lips.

Ann: Fabulous job on using the art media. I need to go rewatch the Master Class. Seems I missed a bit. Oh my, Ann, the photo you chose to go with your art media background couldn't be any more perfect. Then using the curved photo script really made it stand out. Outstanding layout on the "Preaching to the Choir". The plaid you made is superb and I really like the "punch outs". (And, can I say, the title is absolutely perfect.) Nicely done on the trees layout. Lovebirds is so cute. The looks on their faces make for a perfect layout. Congrats to the lovely couple. Waves is a stunning layout from the stripped background to the offset photo from the frame. Great job. Second edition of the wood duck is beautiful.

Cristina: What can I say but, WOW, your lab layout is stupendous. The pictures are so perfect and the googly eyes really draw your eyes to them. "Then & Now" is so fantastic. Love the tree word art and the pictures...

Minka: Love your heading home layout. The rope frames work so well with the layout and the vignette on some of the photos really make them pop. Upbeat is a very excellent layout which should be used throughout media as a reminder that we need to keep vigilant about the mental health of our children.

Shelia: You did an amazing job on the painted rose.

Michelle: Your Mother's Day layout is so beautiful. I love the watercolor flowers on the background and how you framed the mask of your mother. As usual, I so enjoy seeing what you come up with for your gaming group. At the court is so perfect in all ways. Surfers Paradise is absolutely lovely and you did a great job on the masking.

Thanks so much dear Sue ... they are beautiful little birds and the birdhouses are soooo sweet. Looking out for wildlife takes a little time but it is sure worth it. I wish everyone would do their bit even if it is to just let nature take care of it's own. You are a star Sue and I am sure nature applauds you. <3

You are most welcome Annie.  The bird houses are 15 yrs old this year, and are standing up well to the elements. I whole heartedly agree.  We don't need to feed the birds or provide accommodation for them, we do it purely for our own pleasure.  Mother Nature  looks after her own when not interfered with.

Karon, I'm impressed with you, you must have gone through every post diligently.  Thank you for your  kind words on my pages. I'm pleased I made you  smile with the ground squirrel  page.  I congratulate you on  your beautiful page.

Thank you Lynda,

Here’s my take on the Friendship project:  Bootcamp Day7 - The background is a black and white photo of the dandelion seedhead. I created the pattern for the striped paper with a selection from all 3 photos. (I also went ahead and made a plaid, which I also have posted for your downloading pleasure ;-) ) The bees on the flowers are stamps so they don’t have much depth.
