Day 1 I used all the techniques which I have already learnt from the Affinity template workshop, and from the start here with Affinity tutorials to showcase the photo. Its how I learn best, by being consistently repetative, until I have masters techniques. The arrows and hearts were fun to create in Affinity.7 points

Day 1 for Affinity After making my heart and arrow I wanted to show them in a small and simple layout using a flower photo from my trip to California. If I have time enough I will make a layout for each day, in that manner I can repeat what I have learned until now. Repetition is the key to learn a new skill!6 points

@Carolyn Rye It is quite ok to just do the basics in the practice assignments because that is the goal. When you feel more comfortable, that is when you can be more adventurous and do more complicated things. By the way, make sure that you post the Affinity projects in the Affinity thread (and the workshop starts only tomorrow! ;)) I cannot move it myself. @gwen jewitt For the frog shape, if you want your tubes to be evenly spaced, set the Placement mode to Continuous instead of Random. But maybe you want them randomly spaced too. @Sue ThomasIf you want, you can always adjust the settings of the picture tubes before you run the VectorTube script, by changing the step value. @Jannette NieuwboerWhen you create a shape with vectors, make sure the Anti-alias is checked. I see your shapes have pixellated edges so I suspect it is unchecked. The good thing is that you can change that setting in the Vector Properties dialogue window so you don't have to redo anything. @Mary Solaas That is the start. The basics are where you begin and then you will learn with practice. @Donna Sillia Great work with those picture tubes. Aren't they versatile? @Gerry LandrethGrabbing the correct node when you cut is challenging. Thankfully, you can always use Undo if you grab the wrong one! @Susan EwartYes, when you have intersecting paths is a challenge for the picture tubes. And your analysis of the solution is spot on! Good work. @Jacques That is a creative way to go to use different "ropes"! @Sharon Murray Cutting a vector is not something we often do so it is new to many users! Good work. Continue to post your PaintShop Pro projects in this thread.5 points

This is only just part 1 of lesson 7. PSP is overworked. And stopped the vector tube. It did do today but now not anymore. the upper circle is the 72 beeds picture tube, underneath is the single beed irregular placed. I hope to finish this lesson to tomorrow. On top of this the knife was greyed out.4 points

@MoniqueN.I don't think it matters too much Monique after all the lessons are all about doing what feels right for you.4 points

Day 7 - I really wanted to challenge myself using the knife. My husband was a SeaBee during Vietnam so I wanted to honor them. Thankfully, Phil is still with us so I didn't use his photo. I used the poppy tubes and some corners from Carole. I made the rectangles and stripes. The firefly is from a CF dingbat font called Insects. I used my name so that I could have a lot of practice using the knife.4 points

It should be a .psptube file, correct? Then you put it in the Picture tubes folder.3 points

Indeed sometimes I forget one or another. Especially when i have to practise over an over again.3 points

I am the same, Gerry, I have spent most of the day trying to get the second node shifted out of the way, each time I grab that other node, at 800%, it moves the whole letter, so it is not cutting! Weird that!3 points

As Carole always says: "Life happens" and that is so true, enjoy your trip and maybe take some nice photos back to use here.3 points

Lesson 7 Thank you for this workshop Carole. I had some ah-ha moments and a lot of ones I forgot. Today I learned with the ampersand that I should have cut my lines to give space for a bead when it meets the next line (wire). I had to use the eraser tool to take some of the beads away. Some I wanted to take away but it was two bead overlapping and they were on the same layer. Better planning next time. I stop in and see how Affinity works this week. It will be awhile before I have it. I enjoyed reading the forum and seeing how creative everyone is.3 points

Day 7. Thank you for the workshop Carole, it is always fun to participate in the workshops. I know vectors can be daunting whilst learning. Bearing in mind they are very versatile with endless possibilities unlike rasters. In my opinion vectors are well worth the perseverance, same goes for the warp brushes. I'm looking forward to tomorrow and the start of the Affinity vector workshop. After all these years in the campus, I will be a (affinity) newbie once again. These flowers really are incredibly minuscule. I had to run the script 3 times to get the effect I was looking for.3 points

Day 6 enjoyed using the vector script ,thank you Carole for the free script. the frog was a font (EFON) the diamonds around it were from Janet Kemp digital scrapbooking. The font Unicorn Monogram was used for my Initial I used the rope from Carole and changed the colour, finally the flower with Caroles rope tube I made myself.3 points

Monique, a gradient is only an option, what you did is perfectly ok.2 points

@Cassel I succeeded. they are all in. but I had to fill out that swatch wit the calculating of the 8X9=72 beeds as well. And than put in in the right place. It was quitte a puzzle. But I like puzzling. 😍2 points

Hi Carolyn, yes it is possible to add gradients to Affinity. I have posted in the section "Let's talk" - Affinity stuff how to do it and where you can find more gradients. Have a look there and you can let me know if you have questions.2 points

@Cassel Ones you send me a leaflet full of koper colored beads. I had put it in my pc but its gone. I found a copy in my stock. Where and how must I put those 72 beads in PSP???2 points

@Cassel Thanks for letting me know Carole about the Affinity thread. I thought that the workshops had already commenced.2 points

I tried to identify each video per program with the color line and the icon beside each of them.2 points

Looking forward to some more vectors. I think I may, in the end, be getting the hang of them in PSP, and repetition helps, so will keep doing these workshops.2 points

Ann it is a great tool to correct a photo that isn't taken at the right angle! I always try to take my photos so I don't have to correct them but that isn't always possible and the perspective tool is great to do the job if necessary!2 points

Lesson 6 Using PSP. Had a bit of fun with this Not sure how I ended up placing the text onto the frame, but it did happen. Will have to see if I can do it again. I tried to do it on one image and then copy and paste onto the frame of another image, but did have a problem. Eventually it appeared to work. I am sure that there is a much easier way to do this than I did.2 points
