Here's my effort, I really liked the way the shadow made some parts of the string look as though they were curling further from the page than others

So here goes with my number 2 I did something different, filling the areas on the template with promoted selections from the card, which I used inner belvel and drop shadow on. I then put a show all mask over the main layer and with the airbrish and one of the watercolour brushes I have sprayed some black in areas under the elements which reduced the visibility of the main picture making the promoted elements stand out more. I didn't feel like it needed any words

Playing catchup, here's my number 1, I did several different versions of this for all the sizes of card blanks I have. This is the one I decided to share. I am making christmas cards for next year featuring my own christmas photos, hopefully it will stir family members memories as it stirs mine. This one I am showing I took the ribbon out and replaced it with the text

No I rotated the lace first then added the shadow so no idea why it looks that way. The butterfly font not a layered font I added an inner bevel because on the whole I prefer my titles to have some body.

Well here's my day 5, I used the ink splatter paint brush for the mask and the font is Agreloy. I went for a pretty monochrome design with this one.

The bird works just perfectly with your photos

Here's my lesson 4, 2 photos, 2 masks, made the background with a selection from the girls dress, applied balls and bubbles and seamless tile and used as a fill, then put a beige layer on top with an opacity of 50 to tone it down a little. The font is Eyeballs. Then just a couple of scatters and a ribbon to finish it off. .

Continuing with the theme of grandchildren, not all grandchildren are directly descended from your own flesh and blood that doesn't make them any the less important. The title font is Snap ITC, and the journalling font is Magneto. I used a free mask from Jessica Dunn's nesting mask kit. https://www.digitalscrapbook.com/jessica-dunn/kits/nesting-masks-kit-baby-birds-precious-love-black

Here is my day 2. I addded blend mode of dissolve for the plaid because I thought the texture looked good for these photos. I also used a darker colour to make the text stand out as I was using white. I kept the paint spatters from the template and turned them red, just for fun. The fonts are Jokerman and Poemione. I seem to be building up a collection of what I consider are playful fonts.

If it helps any you need to use the black shape to make a selection so you need to use a show all mask so that the shape shows on it. you float the selection so that you have it to place on the mask layer. You need to be on the original shape layer and make your mask from that if you do it on the selection it will promote it to a layer and you will get a totally white mask layer with no black shape to flatten down onto it. You pull the selection into the mask group on top of the mask and defloat the selection so that it becomes a black shape on the white mask layer. At this point the center is blocked and the outside shows through the opposite of what you want. On show all masks white creates a hole for what is underneath to show through and black lets nothing through. So you invert the mask layer and now your photo can show through in the middle of the mask.. I hope that helped. Cassell can probarbly explain it better Forgot to say you did a great job showcasing those smiling babies

Here's my day 1, I used a paper from the kit you linked too and colorised it and the font is Poemiore for the title and good old Arial for the journalling. I did the making the picture subject clearer a little differently as it was not the middle of the picture I wanted to make clear but rather their faces which were closer to the edge so I used a large paintbrush and set the hardness to about 30 and the size to approx 1500 and painted in white directly onto the mask. I tend to like the appearance of an outer frame so promoted a selection of about 50pixels round the border to a new layer and used an inner bevel on it. Promoted to a new layer in case I want to change the edge at any time. Great lesson I often forget how to make those templates into masks.

Day 6. I think this is my favourite so far, I added a little extra to the texture layer once I had merged it by adding another raster layer on top, Using a picture tube to add 2 spiders then using the luminance blend mode.

Day 5 done, I decided for this one just to focus on one seed, the Melon that I threw in just for fun and didn't expect to sprout. For just a few days it's doing really well. The font is Holiween one that I really like, all the elements are melon flowers hopefully I will get to see some one day and I added a tiny spider, just because. I used techniques from one of the earlier lessons to add a frame. I didn't like the ricrac so added a second ribbon instead.

So here goes my day 4, the harder seedlings are just starting to sprout, and much to my surprise so are the melon seeds that I threw in just for fun. The bigger picture is the neglected mess of a garden that we cleared ready for our vegetable garden. If I remember next time I will include a picture of how it stands now waiting for the seedlings to be sturdy enough to plant out.

So here is my day 3, can't wait to get the day 4 email. One of the paper boxes I put a photo of the light for this set of hydroponics it seemed to fit well instead of using a paper.
