Here are my projects from days 2, 3 and 4 with "Affinity". Although the "Look" is very similar to those made with PSP, I admit that Affinity offers useful tools (Place, move a photo on a mask, etc.). It's a shame that Corel no longer makes modifications to PSP 😞

When I first saw the photo I felt that it wasn't real. Unlike Albino birds which are caused by a genetic mutation. In other words albios are lacking in melanin, the pigment resposible for dark colours. Many colours, such as orange hues in plumage can come from pigments in the food that they eat. Not the case in the Snowy Owl, as their diet soley consists of mice, voles, rabbits and the like. Snowy Owls have very little melanin.Which mean they can not change colour. The Snowy Owls white plumage, with barring is a natural camouflage for their habitat. I doubt this colouring is the result of genetics, in my opinion humans have played a part somehow. I finally decided to try Affinity. Since my 90-day trial had expired, I opted to participate in the Beta. I downloaded this version and used the same code as for the 90-day trial. Here I am with a 90-day Beta version (2.6.3.3273). Papers used: - PS_JanetScott_SD_Ddls - PS_JanetScott_SD_DropsPpr - PS_JanetScott_SD_PnkChev - PS_JanetScott_SD_PnkChev @CasselI was unable to change the color of the "Texture" layer.

Day 7 Template using Affinity Photo 2.6 Just made the deadline, photos are my own the photo with the two plant pots are lettuce seed and a re-potted cabbage plant (just in case your wondering I have more cabbages) the photo below is one of many climbing beans which will be ready to plant out at the end of May. Papers, gloves and tree in a pot are all from Digital Scrapbooking. The watering can is from Free Pik and the font is Back to Vintage, thank you Carole I have enjoyed this task and learned so much more.

Happy May - I've adapted my typical wild cat calendar to be wild nature this time, featuring a bird instead of a cat. And it is a very special and unusual bird. A snowy owl is typically white; to blend with snowy landscapes but this individual has beautiful orange coloring and was photographed by Julie Maggert. Here's a link to My Modern Met with the story of “Creamsicle,” as the photographer called her. I will post a full-size image for printing in the Files area of our Facebook group Scrapbooking with PSP and Affinity. The May title is in Bananas Pancakes font and the journaling is Banditas. The calendar template is from our workshop last October with Cassel.

I posted this in April. Thanks for pointing that out friends. Early May...is there a sweeter, more lovely, time of year? At least here in my part of the world. The flowering trees are spectacular and colour is back in the world. Grabbed a few quick shots while I was out today to capture the beauty of it all. (Except the Forsythia, which I got online.) Used PSE 2024 (my Affinity has expired and I can't afford to get back into it) and a template from Anna Aspnes. Some papers from a kit I won from ET Designs. The metal bee is also AA. I will be looking at this next winter.

I read that the colors are not normal for the species; rather like melanistic (black) or albino (white) variations in other animals. Around here we get the occasional jet black (gray) squirrel, for example.

Template 3 extra Affinity Photo 2.6 and PSPx8 I tried and tried to work out how to export and maintain the aspect ratio, and couldn't find anything helpful, so I used PSP to resize. I found this ram in a paddock in Waipiata, he was wild and woolly, he had lived in the hills for years, so wouldn't have been shorn for a long time. The kit used is Winter Repose from Jessica Dunn. The font is Smith Family Script Bold from CreativeFabrica.

Jacques, I would download the others as well, you may not use them, but you could have a play, at least. Some scrapbookers use Designer rather than Photo. I admit I am using Photo and have yet to try the others. I'm like Susan, not enough time in the day, I probably need 48/7 instead of 24/7, or, as Susan said, to live to 150!

With the beta version, I was able to download all three modules (for all environments) but I only installed Affinity Photo for Windows

Do we know if there is a 90 day trial for designer at all.

Sue, perhaps you missed the link to the article about the snowy owl. It has several speculations about the unusual color, though nothing alluding to foul play (or even fowl play 😉 ). Here's the link to the article in My Modern Met

That is a great way to work around the limitation, but I thought you had to have purchased it to be allowed as a beta-tester???

I'm also running late and haven't started Days 6 and 7 yet. But I watched the videos and saw Carole's tip to add two Outer Shadows, one being used as a "Reverse Shadow". Great tip!

And 2 other layouts from this time period. In 1982, my parents and her sister/husband were going to rent condos in Hilton Head for a 2 week period in June. The first week they had the kids join them. There were 3 of us kids. The 4th one couldn't go as he was attending Boys State for the State of Ohio that week. 2 of the 3 kids were married and 1 of the couples had a 20-month old daughter. The other couple was expecting their first child. I was single. We spent a lot of time on the beach since our condos overlooked the beach and the Atlantic Ocean. One day several of us went to Savannah to do some touristy things. It was my parents and I, my 2 cousins and 1 spouse. Mom's sister and her husband, the grandbaby and the other spouse stayed back in Hilton Head. Kit unknown. These were some of the first pages I did back in 2008.

I'm using ages 24 - 30 for this month, the years 1980 - 1985. At the age of 24 (since I turned 25 later in 1980), I made a trip with my boyfriend and another couple to the Kentucky Derby. We decided to go maybe on Wednesday and plans to get a motor home fell through. So on Friday, after we all got off work, we headed out and hoped to find a motel. Needless to say there were none in the Louisville area and we kept going south on I-64 and ended up finding a room in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. It was also well after midnight. We got up early the next morning and headed back to Louisville. We paid to get in the infield (nothing like it is today). Lots of people and unless you were lucky enough to get a space by the fencing, you really couldn't see much. However, Jim let me sit on his shoulders and Darrell let Jodi sit on his shoulders. But I will admit, I still didn't see much of the race. (Note: I finally got to see the race a few years ago on YouTube!) We had decided to head to Mammoth Cave National Park which was south of Elizabethtown on Sunday, so after the race, we headed south again. Sunday morning we got up and went to the park. After touring there, we headed back home. A side story was this was the year of a filly named "Genuine Risk". I bet a couple $ on the filly to "show" meaning if she placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, I would win money. My other bet was a horse owned by Jack Klugman (the actor) to Place (finish 1st or 2nd). Sadly, that horse finished 3rd. However, Genuine Risk won... I got $18! Jim made fun of me making that bet but he had to eat those words later as he ran out of money on the way home and couldn't buy our dinner... so I did! It is only fitting that I post these this week since the Kentucky Derby is this Saturday, May 3rd. And, wouldn't you know, it was on May 3rd in 1980 as well! Day 7, I finally got finished! This was a bird feeder at one time and then the cats came along. They decided it made a lovely place for an afternoon nap. It's on a pole so they have to jump from the deck railing to get in it. The bottom is screen so they get lots of air and shelter if it happens to be raining. They are Shadow, Whitey (all white except for an all black tail, Eclipse, Patches and Shiner. The font is Harrington, The background and clouds are from CF, the pics in the circles are mine and I made the butterflys in AD. They are actually made with the letter B! Thank You Carole, this was fun to do!

hallo allemaal. Hier even een berichtje van mij. Jullie zullen me wel missen denk ik. Deze week ga ik een weekje met vakantie, eindelijk komt het er een keer van. Daarna hoop ik weer hier terug te komen. Ook wil ik mee gaan doen met de vector workshop. Ik ben recent weer begonnen met PSP. Wat was dat wennen, zoeken zoeken waar doe ik dat nu weer. Ik ben ook veel bezig geweest met de pc. Ik had nog steeds ruzie met Macrosoft en tegenwoordig doet Google precies hetzelfde. Klanten afpikken van elkaar. Restaureer ik mijn email adressen van G dan maakt M ze weer onbruikbaar. En vice versa. M had PSP er helemaal afgegooid, die moest ik weer opnieuw installeren. Ik zal jullie besparen wat ze er allemaal af hebben gehaald, zelfs enige items intern van PSP. Hoe durven ze. Ik had het gevoel dat M mijn pc gehacked had. Af en toe dreig ik met de pc door het raam te gooien en de klandizie op te zeggen. Maar helaas ze hebben op deze manier het monopolie en moet je ze wel aanpakken, dan zijn ze weer een paar weken koest en dan begint dat geblaf weer. Hopelijk tot volgende week. Jannette
