Day 9 This time, the steamer, TSS Earnslaw, steaming her way to the wharf at Walter Peak High Country Farm. I used Jessica Dunn's Classy papers and elements, again, colourising the scatters to resemble water droplets...well, I can pretend they are, anyway I am actually enjoying the challenge of using one kit throughout.5 points

I also love Origami. Some time ago, I received an Origami calendar: 365 different models. Today's page had a model that could be made into an Origami. I never used these sheets because I wanted to keep them as models. I made them all and put them in a box at my office where I worked. One day, my boss came with her daughter to show her my work and as she hesitated to choose one, I gave her the whole box. You should have seen her expression!!! For me, once done, an Origami is in the past that I can do again. This happened several years ago but the one I remember most is making a "balloon"4 points

Sorry for not having done all my "homework" for this "Scrap Bootcamp". I received several photos of my 3rd grandson and since my first "hobby" is to make a "painting" of him, I did not have time to complete the homework for this scrap bootcamp but I looked at you all and really appreciated what you did. See you next time..4 points

Ann sorry to hear you got the same problem with the wrapped text as a lot of us have with 2023 ๐ญ3 points

A nostalgia moment for me; first with my family, then with school friends and even with my daughters when they were small. It was supremely corny but I did finally venture onto the rollercoaster with my friends! I felt so brave!! The poster is from the Facebook group Peter Gray's Magazine Covers and Posters which I follow. The title font is Century Schoolbook and the papers and accessories are from rae-BT-summer vacation. The information about the park was generated by MS Copilot AI. I probably should report my PSP2023 acted up with the journaling font that I had in a bounding box; as soon as I duplicated and rasterized it, it flew off to the right in a straight horizontal line. ๐ This was just with the raster version! I finally ended up converting the vector text to curves as a single shape to stabilize it.3 points

I've won the Easter brushes and just made a very quick lay-out with them. ๐ Made it in just a few minutes and the project looks nice already. Wonder how it wil work out when I take more time for a "real" Easter lay-out. We're preparing for a trip to Scotland (Outlander country!) next week, not much hobby time, but after that I will take more time for a project. ๐2 points

Alas that never happened to me, it still doesn't work and I don't use that wrapped text any longer in 2023. Only for that I go to 2022 or to Affinity.2 points

Thank you, Corrie. I was working on a new calendar for April today and tried the wrapped text again and it was fine. ๐คทโโ๏ธ Go figure!2 points

I love what you've done on this one and I'm really impressed that you've worked with one kit throughout the bootcamp - wish I'd thought to do that!2 points

Thank you, Sharla. It hasn't been easy, yet deciding to do so creates more of a challenge for me, and I love challenges.1 point

I'm sad to see you go Doska. And I glad to have been able to see your creative work. I wish you the best going forward and will look for you on DS. Hope to see you back, even just to check in and see what we are up to. This layout is beautiful.1 point

Day 9 - border selections. I am following the instructions to floodfill my borders white, but nothing is happening. Any ideas please? Think I solved it. I changed the match mode to opacity on the floodfill, and it worked!1 point

I loved it as a kid as well but had trouble following the instructions. These days it's so much easier with you tube videos!1 point

Thank you very much, Carole๐ฅฐ for your generosity. I'll keep the account active and visit you from time to time. I have a new password now. I'm really sorry, but I need to be more focused with my resources.1 point

Don't worry about storage. Your projects are always welcome here. And if you ever need or want to do something with PSP, since you already have it, we are always here to help you and answer any question you have.1 point

Hello dear campus members, I finally managed to log in with the new password. I've been thinking for a long time about whether I want to continue with PSP or look for something else. I only use it to quickly reduce the size of large files; otherwise, the handling mostly frustrates me. For individual scraping techniques that I need that PI doesn't have, I still have the tutorials I translated. As long as my PI still runs on this operating system, I'll continue to use it, but then I'll switch to free online programs. In any case, thank you Carole and all for your help and support, and I hope you continue to have fun here. Some of you are also in the DS forum. @ Carole: If my work takes up too much storage space for you, feel free to delete it, but leaving it is also okay ๐ Tschรผร, Ciao and Goodbye Doska St. /Doro1 point

@Jeni Simpson It is a great idea to keep some similarities from one layout to the next as it could become the start of a whole album or at least a section of an album. @Krystyna Nicholls Is grandpa a chocolatier? I can just imagine how much fun it is for a child to write in chocolate! Great story to capture! Although it was not mentioned in the tutorials, you might want to consider adding "reverse shadows" to your papers to give them even more "volume". You can read more about it in this article. @SharlaYour page is nicely balanced and the colors are great for your photos. @Susan Ewart Those mittens make me smile. I think that my daughter had those mittens that she might have gotten during the Canada Winter Games, held in 2003 right here, in Bathurst. We all served as volunteers for that event. @Ann Seeber That is quite a colorful page, and it goes well with colorful flowers too! Another project will be in your inbox tomorrow!1 point

I will give it a try, but maybe it has to wait until I'm back from my trip. It is starting to get a bit hectic and I have promised my husband we will do a couple of things before I go.1 point

I stopped at crocus because I didn't know the plural...and I was in a hurry and had no time to look it up. Now I know what it is.1 point

Always a pleasure my dear. I was hoping they may inspire you. I have every confidence that once you have chosen a phone icon, you will be able to create your unique watermark. Of course mine had be the camera. There are many techniques which can be used. You could create a vector shape of your image, which can then be manipulated to your liking. As always, the possibilities are endless.1 point

Thank you for sharing how you did it, both are fantastic and for me maybe an idea to follow.1 point

Don't you just love Gill Sans Ultra Bold. It is one of my most favorite fonts. Such pretty crocus (did I get that right?)1 point

Talking about watermarks, there was a time when I would watermark all of my work. I haven't done so for some time now. Here are the two I created from a jpeg I found on line years ago. You will notice that I used the same font, I always use and to this day to sign and date polaroid images in layouts. Which is called Stanley. I used the date stamp technique in the first one. Selecting the text, then hit the delete key on the camera image. I edited the camera image, to suit what I was looking for. Deleting and tapering the edges.1 point

Thank you and I think I'm going to emboss that icon with my initials added. I have been looking for something to put on my layouts that is not too obvious and this might do the trick. If time allows I'll give it a try. Dear Annie Tobin had a nice sign on het layouts and I have been searching on and off for something without copying hers that is.1 point

I love this time of the year when everything is so colorful after a long winterโalthough not as long as before! It comes with my pollen allergy, but it doesn't take the beauty of it. Magnolias are also blooming here, and I don't get tired of admiring this tree.1 point

Congratulations, Sue, on the birth of your new granddaughter, Gwen! I wish the family a lifetime of happiness! ๐1 point

You delivered! You have now set your bar even higher, as I knew you would, as you delivered a beautifully execuated page. The phone is a lovely touch. Cornwall is ablaze with Magnolias, primrises, daffs, wild garlic, and many other Spring flowers. I'm home again for a while, spending time with the latested arrival, granddaughter Gwen. You too will soon be on your way across the pond.1 point

So pretty. I like the uneven lines in the background. the photo is beautiful, I love magnolias. What a cool icon that is. Nice touch to add your initials and the date.1 point

This challenge became a kind of rollercoaster. At first I started in Affinity, but it didn't worked out well. The photo I choose was not suitable for what I had in mind, I had won the cass-Uneven Lines script and wanted to incorporate that in my layout but found it for this layout a bit too busy. In the end I duplicated the layer with the lines and rotated it 90 degrees and used it as a background under the part of the layout that I already had done. I wanted something to write the date and used an icon with a handheld phone. Afterall that is how I take my photos.๐1 point

I too call it Yingyang. It makes for a nice different way to write text. I made a double page, mirroring this page. You do surprise me. I didn't think that there may be a flower you didn't like. These are native anemones, quite different to the hybrid ones. I look forward to seeing what you create, which will be beautifully executed.1 point
-
You are quick! I just see this challenge now and will have to see what I can come up with. I love the "ying/yang" circles, at least we call them that way. The photos of the Anemones are lovely, but I probably am one the very few persons that doesn't like them. So now you have met that person albeit digital and you know how much I like flowers. โน๏ธ1 point
