  1. Dear Ladies /Carole and Cristina/ I used PSP 2023. I found there SHAPE CUTTER and used this tool. A heart-shape was in PSP-SHAPE-PRESETS, Jacek's shot was in my folder PHOTOS. Do you need more explanation?

  2. Each of us has a system for keeping everything we have collected over the years. Most of my stash consists of freebies, but when I see something I like and that I could never create myself, I get it, but ONLY when it is on sale. The Lilypad site offers a 50% discount on some items chosen by the designers every Wednesday. It could be a kit or just papers, elements, borders, etc. I've found some interesting stuff this way. They also offer it on Fridays, but then it is only 20%. Usually, I unzip the files and keep the folder intact. But I separate some of the folders by theme, like Christmas, Summer, Halloween, and Fall. Recently, I have created a folder called "Artsy Designers" with subfolders that include the designers who create in an artsy way, like Lynn Grieveson, Katie Portiert, Rachel Jefferies, and Anna Aspnes. The type of layout I'll create will depend on the photo (person). Designing for preteens will be different than creating something about our trips, for example. Before, I would have only to please the moms; now, the children have grown older and have their own taste! 😄

  3. Corrie, that is a lovely card! I can only imagine how comforting it was for her to receive your weekly card, expressing that you were thinking of her and sending positive thoughts. The psychological side plays a big role in recovering. I like the title very much and love this technique of adding confetti inside a Text that Carole showed us in a Text Workshop a couple of years ago.

  4. Beautiful, Julie! The beaded-string title is just lovely. Sue has also created great layouts with them in the past, and Carole has some Alpha-beads scripts in case someone doesn't want to create them themselves; I have two of them.

  5. Your persistence paid off, Mary. It came out great, and like Julie, I love the Mardi Gras colors, too.

  6. Thank you, Corrie. Julie showed us the way to this precious freebie, and thanks to her, Anna Aspnes probably gained many new subscribers to her newsletter!

  7. Mostly I use categories to store my stash, as Michele and Corrie said they do, but for some designers, I simply create a folder for their names and then keep the files in their original folders, but I add more info to the folder names to identify them better. e.g. [Katie Pertiet] > Artsy Stroke Lines or Filmstrip Edges, etc.

  8. kasany, I like very much how you used a photo as the background. Did you use a Blend Mode or other technique to make it look like this? I also love the other photos, especially the sunset ones (or sunrise?). No matter how often we see it, I think sunrise and sunset are magical. Cassel's Alpha fits the theme perfectly; I have used it a few times. She has tons of beautiful Alphas as freebies.

  9. Thanks and I had two layers for each balloon with the 80 in it and shadowed the back layer with a very light shadow almost but not quite a reverse shadow with a low opacity. Balloons, at least mine are translucent and that means to me they will cast only a very light shadow. But to be honest I was surprised to see the result I got because it worked as well on the confetti balloons which only had 1 layer. You just have to give it a try and think what kind of shadow balloons will give in the real world 🎈

  10. Thanks Michele and I have my own system of storing the goodies I collect and for most of them it is quite easy to categorize them, but in this whole lot there are some that don't belong to any of my categories. I'll have to make a new one but I'll do that after I have looked into them and see where I can put them.

  11. Autumn magic. Font is today's free one from Creative fabrica . (Fire-Boys-28596705). The background is from CF - Watercolor Mega Halloween Midnight Blue Bundle from last year I think. The campfire is from Watercolor-Campfire-clipart-63727433. I liked it better without the shadows on anything for this one.

  12. Oh Ann, that brings back such memories for me. I too was usually seen wearing cowboy gear and rarely dresses. And my mother was an extraordinary seamstress who kitted out my dolls instead of me. I don't have any of those things anymore, but I sure remember them. Thanks for the memory! And I do recall Margaret O'Brien. Perfect layout for the theme.

  13. These are just stock photos, but they do showcase The Dress. My mother complained that I would never wear a dress. (I was usually outfitted in a cowboy outfit.) Then I saw the movie "Meet Me in St. Louis" and Margaret O'Brien, who was a huge child star at the time (she actually won an Oscar for this) wearing what I deemed a beautiful dress. Well, my mother immediately jumped on the idea and voila, I had the dress. The template is from Lab 14-04, the title is Corlita Sans, the heart is from Melo Vrighof and the washi tape is from Jessica Dunn.

  14. Let's continue this new challenge. We might be the ones taking pictures but we are not the feature of our layouts, so let's change that since we ARE important and have lots to say. Every month or so, the layout will be about YOU, and a prompt will be given. If you have taken the Story Week Challenge, you will find some similarities but it won't be the same. For the October layout, tell us something about a specific piece of clothing that you had as a child. What is it? How did you get it? Was it for a particular event or occasion? If you happen to have a photo, that is even better! Let's share. It might be a trip down memory lane for most of us! Remember that if you want to create pages for previous prompts, those threads will stay open. There is no right or wrong order to share about you.

  15. Hi all, I have been "missing in action" for a while now. Hope you are all ok. 🙂 I have so many hobbies and that's why. I bought myself a sublimation printer, so with my Cricut cutting machine, I'm busy with that now. And card making also with my Cricut 🙂 Looking forward to the calendar workshop, I will be more around then. Will have a look at what you guys made with PSP later on 🙂

  16. Too many hobbies, well can one ever have too many?........ I missed you here but noticed on FB that you were doing ok! It will be nice to see what kind of calendar you are going to do this year.

  17. I missed the aurora on Thursday night! All my friends in Ohio were posting photos they took but I was in Massachusetts on Cape Cod with lots of light pollution. My friend and I decided not to go outside and see if we could see anything. We were both tired from our sightseeing that day on Martha's Vineyard. The museum here in town got some awesome shots with it in the background. And, the NWS (national weather service) office in Wilmington, Ohio (located not too far from Cincinnati) got some awesome shots as well. I follow a guy that does the weather on a Dayton TV station (will graduate with a degree in meteorology in December) on Facebook and he always lets people know when they might be viewable in our area. Hopefully there will be another time when I'm home that it happens! Trip was a great time and I have lots of photos to scrap!

  19. This is simply fabulous! I love everything about it. I'm impressed with how you were able to add shadows to the transparent balloons. I end up adding a shadow and erasing the part that's under the transparent part. How did you do it?

  20. I stopped spending money a long time ago; there are too many freebies available, especially in the blog trains. I've stopped myself from downloading anything new (well, I've slowed down anyway). I have literally thousands of zip files I have yet to open and organize. To organize my supplies I have different folders in a main folder I call Creations. It includes folders for Backgrounds, Textures and Overlays, Clip Art, Templates, etc. I make sure the names of the files include the source and include a preview pic (if there is one) in the folders. If I find something I want to use, I can do a search in Creations for all the items included in that kit. I don't know if this makes sense to anyone else but it works for me.

  22. Something totally different and not what I make often. This card is for my very dear friend who will be turning 80 in a couple of weeks. It is just a miracle she is still among us and I have sent her a card every week when she had chemo with a lot of complications in the early days of the covid pandemic. She is doing well but has a lot of side effects from the ongoing treatment. She always loves birthdays with all that comes with it like pendants, flags, garlands around her chair, balloons and so on. Of course I could have made a nice card with some flowers but I have sent so many like that to her that I wanted something different this time. I have a couple of balloons in my stash and changed the colors to my liking for this card. Duplicated each of the recolored ones, put 80 between the two layers and reduced the opacity of the top balloon. In my stash are some translucent balloons with confetti in them, so I made confetti with cass-ConfettiMaker script also round and in the same colors. That confetti in a smaller size is inside the text too. It will be a double card with my logo on the back, probably with a small balloon as well. My birthday wishes will be handwritten inside. I sincerely hope she will like it.....

  24. I have the same "problem" and have accumulated so much that I sometimes forget what I have or where it could be stored. Most of the time that is straightforward but with a some of these goodies there isn't a logical place to put them. I still have them all together as well and will look into it after a couple of weeks. October is always the busiest month for me due to many birthdays and appointments. But I'll survive.......

  27. I have to stop downloading and buying too! I couldn't possibly use what I have accumulated in a decade or more! But freebies? That's a different kettle of fish.

  29. I watched the three videos, they were great. I joined the VIP email list too. hahaha, the first time I've being a VIP in my life! I'm gonna make my husband clean the the bathrooms today! After all, a VIP wouldnt do that, am I right? I'm still buying kits till the end of the year and then hopefully stopping and using only what I have. I see she has some pretty great deals coming too.

  30. Just playing around with pieces from the Anna Aspnes freebies. And wishing my fellow PSPers a Happy Thanksgiving (well, the Canadian ones anyway). The only bit I "created" was the beaded string effect. It's an idea taken right from AA. I used her strings and the alpha beads come from Marisa Lerin (I started making my own and then gave up!). Oh, and the text is something I made some time ago, just added the Canadian flag to it.

  32. And it seems to be the gift that keeps on giving. You'll get emails about more freebies to come! Gotta love that. I'm still watching her videos and trying to use the techniques that she has developed for such unique layouts.

  33. Lab 13 Mod 5. did'nt really want to do this, but finally tried out the fringe paper. Made several of them - three in Mardi Gras colors (which I used for this layout), two in Halloween colors and two in Valentine colors? The picture was taken by my daughter and is actually after Mardi Gras but in February. The font is from Creative Fabrica (where all my specialty fonts are from) and is called Adventure Island ScriptRough. The mask I got sometime back and might have been from CF or NicePng.

  38. Corrie, I hope so too, that you will get to experience the aurora at least once in your lifetime. Night before last my daughter who lives in Haverfordwest West Wales, made a trip to the top of Preseli mountain in Pembrokeshire with others, and captured some awesome shots on her phone. The very first time she had ever seen them. Being a KP7 index and higher, the viewing of them dancing can be seen much further south. They are giving another high index for tonight, providing the sky is clear, go out after 10pm to see if you can see them. Being on the same latitude you should see something. Don't only look north. Yes, Susan, although I am fortunate to see the auroras dancing on a regular basis over counless years, this weeks' displays have outranked all the others I have seen. Unreal how the skies were dancing this week, well into the early hours and longer. I have never seen anything like it. I am contantly in awe of the lady (mother nature) dancing the night away. Last night I went to bed early, getting up at 3am this morning, to watch her still dancing. I'm like Carole, I have a basic phone, so I have to resort to my camera. The slower the shutter speed the more colour I am able to capture.
