Week two

I am back! My first PSP pages in almost 8 weeks. I'm currently upside down and inside out, so much do in order to get back on track to settle back into my routine. The first two weeks are older photos. ( Local landscape, Sharp Tailed Grouse). This monring's sunrise.

This week there was nothing interesting happening and although making photos of housekeeping are ok 🤔 I want to show a photo that my daughter send to me. We had to laugh seeing one of the dogs as a driver and she remarked that she is training an assistance driver to come and get me at the airport if needed! This is such a cute dog and a bit naughty too. When I'm visiting them he is my friend and looks after me as long as I'm willing to play with him when the rest of the family is at work or at school.

I had a good laugh when I opened this post. What a cutie. And more attentive at the wheel than some humans!

I have trouble with it saying I am logged in at the top of the page, but it won't let me post until I go to the sign in page, (that does say I am signed in) and back to where I wanted to comment. I will try the refreshing the page next time to see if that works for me too.. PS It just did it again when trying to post this and the refresh page worked.

I also get the inability to react. In that case, I tend to just refresh the page. I am not sure if the site forgets you are logged in after X number of hours of idle.

Welcome back Sue! that was a long time, we all missed you !

Sue welcome back, like the others I have missed you here. I hope you had a great trip and have made more memories for the grandchildren, as well as for yourself to sustain you until you can get visit again. I know that feeling of getting back into one's normal routine all to well; it takes some time to settle in but at the bright side is the opportunity to be at the computer and be creative!

I had a post it with all the steps on the edge of my monitor😎

I wrote them down too as well as did the screen shots. then I had a point form very short cheat sheet that I used. Then i just tried it by memory and missed a step. Seeing the step I missed made me remember that particular step. Now I can do it without referring to the notes. That is only the one style of making a mask. this year I want to to commit to memory another style that we learn in the workshop. I remember Sue T. telling to do one thing over and and over until I can have it memorized. Good advice because that is what I did. making the mistakes was really what helped me to learn the order of the steps.

I went one step farther, I did screenshots of each step and put them in order on a letter size paper and saved it to my desktop and printed it too.

Lab 12 Mod 1. Requirements: Scallops 2: saved it as a pspimage for the pattern and then made the background paper from it. Colored Tape: it’s holding down the tape I created sometime ago; Hand drawn frame: Well I did make it but did not distress it; I made it as if it was a regular photo frame and even shadowed it on the inside as if it was thick and made a mat for the photo. I made the little circle paper in the bottom right corner and placed the spaceman sticker and the 3 journal stickers on the side and made the Space Camp sticker at the bottom. I used “Polar Cordinates” Distortion Effects on my star ribbon to outline the paper. The spaceman and the 3 journal stickers are from Pixel Scrapper – Sheila Reid. The Alphabet is one of a set I made in a Lab. The font used in the title is Segoe UI Black. The star scatter is also from Sheila Reid.

I am just getting done in time for the end of January for my first attempt at my Hook trees project. I saw people using the 2023 review template so thought I would give it a go for the trees although I will still work on some other designs in due course. This one shows my photos with their respective dates and the central photo shows the tree in situ in the field. Adjustments to the template included: - resetting the dates as the white text on the raster text layer supplied did not show up on my chosen background. - changing the grey squares to an oak leaf design paper from Digital Scrapbook.com. In order to select a different part of the pattern for each mat for the sake of interest, my process was to save the oak leaf paper as a layer. Then for each grey Mat in turn made a selection and then on the oak leaf paper layer promoted the selection to a layer and positioned it above the Mat layer. - adding a fine outline to the main letter characters as some of the photos did not contrast well with the background. As each character was a raster layer my process was to duplicate the character layer and move it above its group. Then use the Magic Wand on the new outline layer. Selection/Modify/Contract by 3 pixels and then delete and de-select.

On the last day of January 24: I recently found this behind the curtain in my dentist's waiting room. I was frightened and thought to myself, is this supposed to allay children's fear of treatment when adults are already frightened by it? Credits: Most from Creative Fabrica Photo by me.

As most of you know, I love gnomes. These cuties are from CF (I have a subscription so I have a lot of their stuff). The font is Bestop Glistening, also from the Absolute Font Bundle. For any newbies to the Campus, I often create frames like this. I increase the canvas size, magic select around the bottom layer, add a new layer and fill the selection (in this case I used the same gold sequin pattern that I used for the text). Then I apply an inner bevel. It's a quick, easy way to dress up a layout.
