I am working on a friend's Canva project and made this table of contents. The light bulb is a black preset shape which was altered with vectors. For some reason the Canva clipboard misaligns the one top text, but it looks good in the presentation. Canva is a whole other learning curve, and I'm not ready to indulge. I am only using it because of my friend's presentation. Thanks Carole for the great vector lessons!4 points

December and January (so far) have been nothing but dreary, dismal, and dull here in SW Ontario (Canada). Days in a row of grey wet weather. I am feeling no inspiration or creativity. Everything (except the green grass) is brown and grey. So the layout is a reflection of that gloominess. Nothing special; picture from the Boston Globe with a frame. Dog walking has been a challenge, and the wet paw prints are a continuous job to clean up.2 points

My contribution for this font challenge. I used the Mona Home font for the title of the poem and the font for the poem itself is Aura also a thin monoline font. Thanks to the extremely mild weather we have had the snowdrops are already in flower. My son showed me a photo of it from his garden, but for this layout I used one I took some years ago because it was better suited, no clutter in the background! The drawing of the fairy comes from DigitalScrapbook.com and I had it for some time in my stash together with the poem. I have taken the liberty to alter the poem a tiny bit. In the poem was written the Fair Maid of February and I changed that to January. I think that's ok I'm not going to sell or publish this layout other than here and maybe in our facebook group.2 points

Whenever you create a project, you will likely want to use some text. In this case, you might be looking for some interesting fonts to showcase titles or dates. This month, I am suggesting a monoline font that is simple and even in thickness. You can get this free font HERE. Although this font does not have any additional glyphs, it has all the accented characters you would want to write in just about any language.1 point

I can understand that. And you are right, the phones are amazing these days. They are almost the price of a camera too. You are so lucky to have IT people in your family. My hubby is really good on the computer side of things, but both of us are terrible with smart phones. Soon my phone wont be supported (it's very low end smart phone - to say it's "smart" is a stretch) anymore and we will be having to navigate the multitude of options and plans. It's the plans that stop us from buying, they are expensive. I pay only $180 a year for unlimited texts, I only pay for phone calls during the day, nights and weekends are free. I see plans that are "starting at" $35/month, that's more than double what I pay. Believe me, I see the value in having data, just can justify the cost of it.1 point

It is kind of the idea, but there is no real REQUIREMENT. It is more like a 'suggestion'. And no, you don't need a script. If you want to add a date to your photo, you can. If you want to have a date/week, that is similar, you CAN use a script to create your own set of overlays, but if you are comfortable with PSP, you can surely reuse the same one and just edit the date/week/color as needed.1 point

Luckily every one can do what feels right to them. I have had and used cameras, but nowadays with phones having acceptable cameras I only use my phone. My children and their partners all work in IT and computers; so phones are always present and topics of the conversation. When I travel to my daughter in the States and I'm traveling on my own (because my hubby can't do that any longer) it is very convenient not to have a camera as well.1 point

Lab 11 Mod 8. Wasn't sure how I was going to do this since it is also about the sea. But I muddled through and actually had fun creating elements. Requirements: abstract fish created and then made into a ribbon; create an arrow and add words on top of it (I didn't create the arrow but used a preset shape and worked with those nodes to get the curve - still a challenge); made a stroke and use it to fill a wave (another wave pattern) - that wave pattern I've worked with several times - 1 to put the words on it and 1 to make shadows on the folds of the strip). i also used the stroke to make circular frames in different colors and as "x"s; and used that same idea to make a ribbon and then to use Carole's scripts to make a curled ribbon and several bows. Lots of fun. The surfboards I made in a previous lab.1 point

It is often called a CHALLENGE, but it should not be a STRUGGLE. I have seen this interpreted in many different ways, and honestly, what if you skip photos even for a few weeks? Unless you are tracking something super specific (ex: weight loss using a particular program, the growth of your flower garden), who would know that you took that picture this week or that week? I am actually planning on joining this and showing Markus in different settings around me, throughout the year. 🙂1 point

My hairdresser's daughter was recently married. I've made several pages...this is the first one ready to be posted. Template is Carole's Multiphoto Frame 3 freebie. The font is Mona Home. The groom restored a Ford pickup truck which is represented as the cake topper. The bride placed the Christmas tree and reindeer in the back...just for fun.1 point

Well, back to the labs. Lab 11 Mod 7. My 2nd attempt at this. I did the fishhook, the bobbin, and the wave pattern. I choose to do the wave pattern in the colors found in the river or lake in which my son and grandson are fishing. I've used this pic several times; it is one of my favorites. The fishing net I designed using cass's fishing net tube and adding a vector ellipse and rectangle with inner bevels. The fish in the net is from the vector workshop - loved that fish and have made it a shape, a tube, a pattern, (reversed the fish for another pattern which you might see in the 2 paper backgrounds). Used my bark texture on the dark green paper. The title is Rock Salt which was a freebie in this lab module. The template I used is in the lab module and modified.1 point
