I received a free mini kit from ET Designs (called Graceful). I wanted to use it so I had to come up with an idea since I had no photos that might work. I added elements from Vicki Robinson and Rachel Jefferies which "spoke" to me. It's just about those days when things don't seem to come together very well and not much gets done. I call them my "zip" days.

Well this "zip" day has worked out very well! Nice description of a feeling, I must remember this and say: "oh this is just my zip day as things don't work out as I wish"

I have used Cass edges 2 font, Sweetpea floral digital stamp from Beccys place here in Australia, Flora Free abr brush set, splatters were done with VM Filter Dribble also a watercolor brush to put behind the image.  The April month birthday flower is Sweet pea  and also diamond is the  gemstone  so i did this card for anyone who has a birthday in April.

best wishes to everyone,

Dawn.

I appreciate your reply kasany, but it doesn't mean much to me. I will do a google search  to see if I can figure this out. I don't use many plug-ins so I'm rather stupid about this.

During  yesterday's masterclass, which inspired me. An  idea sprung to mind, well two in fact.   I am going to use this neon  word in a page, as part of the title.  From subtle to shocking.  Where colour enhances the beauty of the natural world, where colour is a language to many  creatures, including birds.  I will probably  break up the word, in order to tilt, and move the odd letter.  At present it is in it's reliminary stage. I can see this technique will have many uses. The other page, would be a night sky page. As I love shooting the  moon, and other planets.Glowinglights.thumb.jpg.cdd8eb6968a5302ab1f6ff44b147406e.jpg

I can already see how nice your page will be.

I watched the replay of the Masterclass and liked it very much—so creative, and so many possibilities to use it.

I am also trying to learn Affinity Designer. I came across a YouTube video by Serif Affinity Designer that shows how to create a Mandala using any of the drawing tools: the Pen, Pencil, or Vector Brush Tools.
She demonstrated it using the Pen Tool, Symbols, etc.  It may sound complicated, but it’s not, although it isn't so well explained like Ally from Affinity Revolution.
By slowing down the video speed, turning on the subtitles, and going back and forth, I could achieve something—not there yet, but at least something.

However, there is a long way ahead of me.

Edit: Now I noticed that the guidelines are showing... See, not there yet! 😄

Yes, I have seen such a tutorial and I am amazed at what it can do in such an easy way!

Very promising, but I think I will pass on Designer because I simply don't have time enough to do everything at the same time. I am going to concentrate on Photo2.

It’s fantastic how Affinity has simplified the ways we work and create things. Of course, there’s a learning curve, but this is the same with every new program. The first time, one might feel overwhelmed, but slowly, we get there.
I don’t have enough time to learn everything I want, but …one day at a time. 😊

And I’m sure, Corrie, you have even less time now that your trip is approaching.

There are many things to consider: the weather, what clothes I should take… and how not to overpack. For sure, lots of preparations.

Thank you, Dawn! 😊
Affinity Designer has many interesting features and is worth looking at.
Also, the programs' interfaces come in handy when creating something. If one app doesn’t have the functionality to do something, we can switch to the other one with just a click.

Many people share their knowledge on YouTube, which is good for beginners like us.
And we are lucky to have Carole, who teaches everything in detail.
Best wishes!

I watched a 6-minute video from Affinity Designer, and I should have viewed this one before creating the Mandala, as it explains more about the Pen and Node Tools.

So, after this, I could tweak the Mandala as shown in the video.

I’m trying to get serious about learning to use Affinity Photo so am going through the lessons that Carole has already done. I’ve started with redoing Bootcamp. I really haven’t got any new photos at the moment so I’m using AI generated images. I’m taking part in a weekly challenge where each week we have a different theme -  as we’re on week 14, I’ve a few images ready to use.

The theme for this image was ‘What Lies Ahead’. The font I used is Zain. The papers and elements are from a bundle by Rachel Martin called ‘Lydia’.

Cristina you are so right! I'm flying coming Monday, so I'm finishing the things I'm working on and concentrate on everything that has to be done here before I go.

Lovely and maybe I should do like you. In between the lessons for the Build A Kit I try to do something in Affinity too, but I have to check frequently those tutorials and workshops from Carole.

This looks so nice, Sharla.

It's a good idea to go through the Bootcamp lessons again, and I should do this too, but I have too many things on my plate already.

I'll wait for the next one. 🙂

Today's freebies from C F inspired this.  The background paper and the middle pic are from today's free downloads.  I did add the Osprey and the splash on the pond. The font is also today's free download called SPLASH.

I have two varieties of daffodils in my flower bed. The daffodils in the circle are pictures that I took of them in various sides. The center cluster is from Adobe Express. The bottom is a photo from my garden that I made into layers and merged in Photoshop, edged with one of Carole's edge brushes. The from is Carole's photo circle script. The side plaid is from an experiment in FF that turned out well. The font is from a CF and called Juicy Snap Solid. I made the daffodils from AE into a tube and created the pattern fill.
