Cassel Posted August 29, 2022 Author Posted August 29, 2022 Petra (#81900), don't worry about being behind. You can always continue. Gerry (#81908), friendship through the years! Lynda (#81912), I guess it is a good thing that it was just a one-time event. Jannette (#81915), you might want to make a double-page with the photo you are talking about. You can check today's blog post HERE. Bonnie (#81917), can I get a piece? I am hungry now! (#81922) That was nice. Too bad she could no longer continue playing with you! Corrie (#81924), that story of Koko made me smile. I can just visualize the scene. Harmony (#81927), even if it is not a childhood story, it is still a meaningful one. During this Workshop, I really felt like we were all sitting around the living room, each telling stories all night long. Doesn't that feel like that to you? Let's keep going. All those stories can be more pages for you to make in the future. 1
Susan Ewart Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 Wow Harmony, you are braver soul than I ever could be. My stomach is turned just seeing you hanging off that building. Here is my Day 7. The image is the poster for the show. It looks great on my screen but it's a small image so doesn't look to good here. I would translate if I could but I don't read French. the funny thing was the director of the gallery wanted me to bring stuff in for sale in the gallery shop. I needed to be a member and all I needed to qualify as "French" is I had to be able to recite 7 sentences in French... I'm still working on it. It is a French gallery in the French Quarter of Edmonton, Alberta. Carole: on the shadowing of the swirl look at the skinny parts. Is that shadowing okay or should I have pushed it up so it touches the swirl? 1
Harmony Birch Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 Thank you Susan. So here's my day 7, something that is important to me, doing my bit, walking the walk. The world only changes when we get off our behinds and act. I was torn here wether to do a story about protest and activism or vollunteering, in the end I went for volunteering. The photo for the record is a general homeless shelter phot from the internet, not one of the CCHP guests as for privacy purposes we do not photograph the guests. 1
Harmony Birch Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 Ok I'm finished when does the next course start :) 1
Lynda DiGregor Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 I guess I used the wrong word. I was referring to your tag. " Forget what hurt you, Never forget what taught you" Lynda 1
Ann Seeber Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 Finally got going on #7 - Good Deed. This was my activism for many years. And of course, I still vote. :-)
Susan Ewart Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 Ann, wow! Reading that little black tag on your layout gave me goosebumps. 1
Jannette Nieuwboer Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 Lynda, Don't worry about it. I understand now better. ?Although I found it from an English site of sayings. That little tag was so inviting me to fill it.?Better talk about it than little misunderstandings. ? 1
Lynda DiGregor Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 Ann, Your women's rights (NOW) layout is very inspiring. I'm with you all the way and I always vote too. Seems you have lived a good life and continue to do so. Lynda 1
Lynda DiGregor Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 Jannette, Thanks for the "Everything" tip. It finds things much faster than a file search. It finds "Everything" no matter where it's hiding. Lynda 1
Jannette Nieuwboer Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 Your welcome Lynda, I'm glad that at least one person has benefited from it. Especially for those who want to work faster. 'Everything' is a real "time-saver". 1
Ann Seeber Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 Here is my Story Time 6b-FEAR. I confronted one of my biggest fears: HEIGHTS. Though it's odd I don't mind flying. After playing with this design, I find it has been quite therapeutic! ;-) 1
cindy harris Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 Love Everyone's but Harmony and Ann Wow Your all so good, I liked the submissions, the chat Ann on the Ver and tig clear and O back double vision wow Harmony I wasn't as Smart or Brave as you, Especially when I had children it was worst then. Your all so Great Diamond members why can I anyone Know, give stars I want to give 5 Stars to everyone but they highlight and let me? thanks 1
Corrie Kinkel Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 Ann, I have no fear of heights but seeing your layout, it almost makes me dizzy. It's quite powerfull in a slightly strange way. I see why you find it therapeutic! 1
Gerry Landreth Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 Ann - I love the Vertigo layout. Although, I'm more of a High Anxiety fan. I can see Mel Brooks and Madeline Kahn falling from frame to frame to frame, spinning out of control. 1
Marie-Claire Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 Just an update. I have one of my external drives that suddenly stopped working. The drive I work on and my data is on it. Luckily I still have a backup. That's why I couldn't continue after day 3. Now busy with new disk and backup ! 1
Susan Ewart Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 Marie-Claire, that's my worst fear. Thank goodness you had a backup. What a hassle for you. Sometimes I wonder if I should back up my back up. 1
Cassel Posted September 1, 2022 Author Posted September 1, 2022 Speaking of backup, have a look at this article on the blog. I also have continuous backup and really, it is not expensive to save you the headache of losing valuable files. 1
Rene Marker Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 I posted on your blog post about my experience. So I'll just say that I use multiple EHD's for my backups. As far as Day 7, I didn't feel comfortable doing a layout to post on the internet for this subject so I didn't do it. 1
Marie-Claire Posted September 5, 2022 Posted September 5, 2022 And here I am ? Yes Susan, I've already thought about making a backup of my backup. ? I wanted to finish the workshop anyway, and this is Day 4 DigitalScrapbook.com : Marisa Lerin - Tangible hope kit, with my own photo, me and my Dad 1
