  1. I went back and reworked the saucer. It took me a while to figure out how to do it.
  2. I should have made separate vectors, too. That is probably why my saucer has jagged edges. Thanks for the tip!
  3. I forgot to make the hole for the coffee or tea, but it is getting easier. I had the nodes set to medium and changed them to small, and a lot of problems vanished. I also changed the DPI on my mouse and lowered the speed. The mouse is no longer jumping around so much that the symbols changed so fast that I couldn't grab them. I forgot the second hole, and there are a few things I could change. Since I saved the original vector, I will be able to do that. I am not happy with the jagged edges on the saucer.
  4. It's actually getting easier, but I am not good enough to save a preset yet. The mug has a layer style applied with my own pattern. The smoke is from a brush. I wish that I had added rounder corners to the bottom.
  5. I spent most of the day trying to put lines on my leaves. I finally gave up, although I copied the spine of one my leaf pictures and pasted it on my leaf. It was very straight so I used the Warp noise brush, blend mode, and some gaussian blur. I darkened the middle and used a cloud texture under Effects - Texture. The green is a gradient. I just noticed a little tag left over from a misplaced node and just erased it.
  6. It's hard to follow the lesson when you have to keep stopping to assist a needy husband.? I finally finished. I'm not happy with the leaf. I tried to make a texture from a picture of one of my leaves. I hope you will cover how to make the lines on a leaf and flower. As you can see, my lines were too straight. The starfish texture was generated in Adobe Express. The sunglasses were originally black, but when I created them from my preset shapes, I had the starfish texture and color in my material palette and decided that I liked it. The stroke in the label was made in Procreate.
  7. That's happening to me, too. I tried resetting to the original, but that didn't work.
  8. I increased the size of the nodes to medium. The small nodes are hard to see.
  9. Still experimenting. It is difficult to make the shape symmetrical. I used some guides which helped, but it still took a long time for something that is still a little off. I used the barbed wire line since it can look like stars. I could not resist using my new custom confetti script.
  10. Thanks for the reminder that you can save your shapes!
  11. First experiment. All the textures are mine. The bevel on the heart is a layer style. The bevel on the arrow is on a raster layer. This lesson clarified a lot of things, but I will continue practicing with the different nodes.
  12. Thank you, Suzy. I love glitter, and I love to fill in my text with patterns. I used the cass script seamless patterns for this fill with my own flower pics. There is an Adobe Express for your desktop. I think it includes some Adobe Stock in the free version. As long as it is free, I will use it. Adobe programs are really expensive and not worth it to me, but I do have PSD 5 which comes in handy at times.
  13. The free Adobe Express is limited, but sufficient for me. I see no need to pay the $10 per month at this time.
  14. Thank you, Susan. I love glitter, too. I made a set of them for my Build a Kit. Definitely look into Adobe Express which is free for now and has so many options. My gem glitters were actually made in Photoshop and converted to PSP. You can change their colors using the blend mode or hue and saturation.
  15. Yesterday, a dear friend brought me this beautiful bouquet. I decided to make a "thank you" card with an extracted picture of the bouquet. I used Adobe Express to extract the image since I have found that Adobe Express does the best job of extracting that I have found. I used vector tube to make the oval using the cass tube, gimptrim2 and under that added a circle filled with one of my gem glitters. The patterned shape is a preset shape filled with one of my patterns. I made the shape in back using the preset star with a little node moving, filled with a gradient and stroked with my glitter gel. The roses are from a package that I purchased and changed to gold using the gold tutorial. The mask was made using rastertomask, and the background for the vase is from Filter Forge. The font is Ambidexter filled with a seamless flower pattern that I made with the cass seamless pattern script. I tried to make a velvet pattern from the tutorials, but wasn't very successful. I am loving all my scripts which save so much time. I am learning so much!
  16. When my FB friends have birthdays, I have been creating files to post on FB. This is the latest one for my niece. All the graphics are downloaded from Adobe Express AI, except for the "fabulous" which is from a Digital Scrapbook kit called "all the princesses" by Melo Vrijlhof. The font is a free font called Moodtype. I am working on a way to convert this file to a quickpage. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  17. I've been working on Random Tubes from Lab 5, Module 10. The raindrops were generated from Adobe Express beta which is a free program. I'm still tweaking it.
  18. I was experimenting with Adobe Express AI and created the raindrop background. The flowers are my own photos, the wood texture is from Filter Forge. I used a blend mode for the light aqua color on the background. I thought that the bright colors of the flowers sort of clashed with the background, but by accident, the first one added turned the aqua color. I sort of liked it, so I just left it. From the Adobe background, I created a pattern and added it to the font, Centaury Display which I also beveled. The masks are my own.
  19. I found this site for open source fonts: 1600+ Open Source Fonts (OFL) › Fontesk
  20. I used a qp that I downloaded a while back from Digital Scrapbook. The original file was a PSD and opened in Paintshop with layers. I could not figure out how to make the picture files into masks probably something to do with the PSD layout. The photos were sent to me by my grandson when he visited Southeast Asia prior to Covid(He made it home just in time.) The font is CallieHmk that I got when I installed the Hallmark card program. The palm tree is a tube, the map of Thailand is from Pixabay and added to the wood based on a Scrap tutorial. The shell is from shell pictures that David sent from Thailand. Escape is from a Digital Scrapbook kit.
  21. Day 7 extra: the flower pictures are called floral lace seamless patterns from deeezy.com. I tried to match the color of the center flower, but the leaves on the original template were orange. Since I could not change the leaves to green, I added a flower from songbird blog train in my kits.
  22. I had to go way back to find 10 pictures. My grandsons in the photos are now 21 and 28, but we had a really great time at the Cleveland Zoo. The font is Broadway display. The additional animals are tubes except for the baboon which was also taken that day. The butterflies are tubes from my own butterfly photos.
  23. Slowly catching up. Photos are of my grandson, Phillip, who will be 16 in August. I created the baby blocks for his baby shower.
  24. Julie, we are about 2 1/2 hours from Windsor and love to visit. We went to Nero's for our 55th dinner and Vito's the day before. Food is Canada is wonderful. They ban a lot of additives like corn syrup which I think makes the food taste better. I also love shopping at Devonshire Mall where I have been buying my make up for years at Caryl Baker. The photo is a selfie of me and Pete, taken by Pete who has been our server at Nero's for over 30 years
  25. Yesterday I spent some time photographing my day lilies, one of my favorite flowers. I changed the background color and added one of my plaids to the frames. The font is Beon to which I applied the cass neon script. For the text, I used individual letters, but got too impatient with lining them up to fit the squares.
