  1. @Ann Seeber Great photo! I think you could add a large shadow on the flower to give it some dimension. @MoniqueN.A subtle shadow tweak on the bow is a great touch! On your first page, I am still wondering if there is a vertical offset on the photo shadow. @Linda J Walker Since you are already familiar with the Bootcamp, I am sure you will have time to catch up. But take it easy if your health is affecting your PSP work. Your health has priority! That is a great photo of a daffodil. That seems like a popular theme. You could probably add a larger shadow to the flower since it is likely thicker than the papers! 🙂 @bina greene Out of curiosity, why do you use Eye Candy for shadows when PSP has it right there? @Donna Sillia That is quite an interesting font that you used for the title. @Bill Pearson Did you try to post a photo? It is not showing. @Corrie Kinkel That dark background really makes the photos stand out! @Rodney Boyd I see some shadow on your top paper but you could add similar shadows on all the papers, the photo and even the title if you make it out of paper. @Bonnie Ballentine Oh, I recognize that paper! That is the linoleum technique, right? Let's keep them coming!
  2. Just make sure that you clearly state what lesson you followed, and try to follow the "principles" or tips in each lesson just in a way that I can recognize it in your project. It will just make it easier.
  3. It is just so that I can identify which lessons were done. When they differ considerably, I am never sure if it was from the lesson or something else 🙂
  4. Did you use a different setting? As you said, it LOOKS like a double shadow. Did you add a reverse shadow? Maybe it was applied to the shadow and not the paper? Also, the shadow on the photo does not seem to have a vertical offset (at least, on the resized version, which might be different from the full-size one).
  5. I am glad to see someone new post in our Bootcamp. Welcome to @Jeni Simpson @Jeni Simpson You really balanced the words well. I think the title is great. I would suggest you adjust the shadows. On the title, it looks like the letters are hovering over the paper. I suspect the Blur value was quite high and the offset fairly small. @Barbara Caulton We will never get tired of puppies! Glad to hear that you feel more comfortable this time around. @MoniqueN. Great photo of the windmills. @Ann SeeberLooking at your plate, it is like someone waved a magic wand over mine, and poof... it is now a realistic sandwich! 🙂 Did you use a different shape for the bevel? @bina greene Just for information, was that your project 1 or something else? I am just asking because I keep track of the Bootcamp projects for the upcoming draw. Are you all ready for the second project, tomorrow? If not, you can still catch up. Where are our silent participants?
  6. Have you ever used the Random Challenge Generator in the Campus? So far, it includes options for a few features, but I wonder if you can suggest other "criteria" that I could incorporate? It can only be text-based, so I cannot have a color palette for example, or a sketch. Or do you think it is already fine the way it is?

  7. I am so happy to still see new projects! I am still waiting for new faces! Don't be shy, post away. @Barbara Caulton That is quite a lunch. I am glad you feel more comfortable with layers and PSP in general. I really hope that more people can find us as a reliable reference for PSP work! @MoniqueN. so, you put your sandwich directly on the table? I guess that is how a sandwich can be eaten when you don't really need cutlery! Looking forward to your scrapbook projects now that you are familiar with the bootcamp @Jen Brown Now that you know more about PSP, you can definitely make your own supplies if what you find does not suit you. May I suggest that you use a simpler font on a patterned paper? It would just make it easier to read. OR you can move it to a lighter area with less contrast. However, I only rely on the resized version of your page, so maybe on a full-size version, it is easy to read. @Sue Booth Some people love a lot of stuff on their page, but I am like you: I want the photo and the story to shine and not have to fight with all the decorations. Did you add a shadow on your photo (or maybe the layer is hidden)? You resized the page to 400 pixels. You can resize to 600 pixels, which would let us see more of the details. @Donna Sillia What app do you use to identify flowers? @Corrie KinkelIs that a stamp you created with your script? 🙂 Keep them coming. If you have not finished your sandwich or your first project, don't worry. There will be an email tomorrow, but no tutorial so it will give you time to catch up. I want to see you!
  8. Great share. Thank you.
  9. I suspect that in the beginning, when they first implemented, it might have made sense. MAYBE they did save on coal for heating and such. But humans then decided to use the other end of the day, and now we probably use as much energy on the "other end of the day" When I was born, the time change in the spring was at the end of April. I was 7 days old when I experienced my first time change. My Mom used to say that I didn't understand time changing. So that is also affecting parents young children because the children don't adjust the same way.
  10. Glad to see another new face in our Bootcamp. Welcome to @Jamie Carey!! @Jen Brown Do you plan on using mostly flower photos in your projects? I also like the lighter grey workspace. I guess I was used to it since version 7! A vegetarian sandwich for you? @MoniqueN. Although you can change the Text size, it does not seem to apply to all the texts on the workspace. Some might stay small. @Rodney Boyd Great start with your sandwich exercise! @Sue Booth Isn't it fun that we can customize our sandwich with PSP? 🙂 @Jamie Carey Interesting to read that you use the History palette and the Brush variance palette. Do you do a lot of Brush work? Looking forward to your upcoming projects. If you have not yet posted (even if just to say hi), there is still time. If you have not started yet (life can get in the way), you can still catch up. Tomorrow, you will receive the link to the first project video tutorial. You will have two days until the next one so don't rush. I am looking forward to more sandwiches (along with their interesting stories), and upcoming scrapbook projects.
  11. Do you follow the Daylight Saving time dance in your area? When does it take place? What do you think about it? Let's chat.
  12. Just highlight the text you want to quote and you will see a little rectangle appear just under that highlight that says Quote. Click on that and it will automatically include the quote in the box and you can reply that way.
  13. You could GROUP the layers. I don't address this in this lesson. Once grouped, you can copy and paste the group and then ungroup the layers to manipulate them. If you merge them, you have no more options to manipulate the layers individually. In PSP, you want to keep the layers as much as possible.
  14. A little under a foot. You can see on the shed as it was clear before the snowfall. There is only a little on the deck because my husband has shovelled after the storm and it snowed again afterward. The trees look great!
  15. Glad to see all new faces in this Bootcamp. A special welcome to @Sue Booth, @Bill Pearson, and @Rodney Boyd. I am looking forward to seeing your projects. I will be in the forum every night to give feedback to all those who post. And if you have a question, don't hesitate to post it. I might be able to answer it quickly. If not, another member might be faster than me (I have a habit of leaving the computer, sometimes!). @Barbara Caulton I am glad you enjoyed your first Bootcamp, enough to come back a second time. And those puppies are going to be stars! @Ann Seeber Interesting that you don't show the thumbnails in the Layers palette. I guess it has the advantage of displaying more layers at once. So, we will be going on a cruise with you this time around? Woohoo!! @Anne Lamp It is so annoying when computers don't cooperate. Hopefully, everything will be back to normal for you sooner than later. @Donna Sillia Saving your workspace is a GREAT idea!!! Everyone should do that once they have a setup they like. @Sue Booth Have you figured out how to load the Complete workspace yet? @Bill Pearson You will find yourself in great company as we have several members who love nature photos! @Corrie Kinkel Another trip to Europe for us, on the other side of the ocean. @Rodney Boyd You got Rosie from Alberta. Where do you live? Are you in Canada? Eager to hear from more participants. See you tomorrow!
  16. You should use the Complete workspace as you will want all the tools and commands. It should be listed just under the Photography and Essential on the home page.
  17. I guess you did it!
  18. So far so good. Welcome to our new participants @Dave Lebut @bina greene and our returning "bootcampers" @MoniqueN. @Bonnie Ballentine @Ann Seeber and @Corrie Kinkel. Everyone else, don't be shy. Come and say hi! We have over 100 registrants for this Bootcamp. I hope we will get a lot of posters!
  19. Freebies are great resources that you can find in many places to build a library of elements, graphics, and tools. Since they are free, they are available to all. For March how about using the basic template for the Slipped In Corners script, and making a masterpiece out of it? Remember that you can move the photo wherever you want on the project so it is quite versatile. Once you add paper underneath, the little tabs will automatically match! It is available on this blog post.
  20. Of course! Did you register?
  21. Yes, it has been documented as a "bug", although I don't know if it is a bug or a "new feature" 😉 (that the testers don't like!)
  22. Yes, that worked in the version I recorded it then.
  23. It is possible that it depends on the PSP version. In recent versions, the Unerase feature will work only on sections that were removed with the Eraser tool, NOT the Delete command. Is that what you used?
  24. What kind of game do you like to play (or liked to play when you were young)? Are they card games? Board games? Something else? Is it available online too? Let's chat.
  25. Do you want to challenge yourself to take photos every week for a year? Maybe you want to practice your photography skills, or just try to capture "ordinary" daily occurrences. Let's just encourage each other. This is a no-pressure thread, and you can share the photos you took or the theme you are going for (if you are going with a theme). And if you don't want to share the photos yet, and only showcase them once they are in a montage or a scrapbook page, you can just say that you did it. And it is ok to start your 52 weeks at any time. It does not have to start in January!
