  1. Sure. Here it is: 2 eggs 3/4 cup of milk 1/3 cup of flour Mix everything and cook on a pan. They should be thin enough to be easy to roll on your plate. One funny story about this recipe is that we have used that exact recipe for years, however, we accidentally discovered that the measuring cup we had was INACCURATE. In fact, it holds 1/2 cup instead of 1/3. So, even though the recipe calls for 1/3 cup of flour, you can use 1/2 cup to get what we get. My guess is that the original recipe with 1/3 cup would make those crepes even thinner. This recipe makes 3 large crepes. If you want to double it, you can double the dry ingredients, but only use 3 eggs (not 4). Let me know how they turn out.
  2. I don't know if anyone has tried this but instead of putting the text inside a selection, did you try to put it inside a vector shape and then, hide the shape? I wonder if it would behave differently.
  3. The idea of one photo a week was quite popular in 2024, and it encouraged participants to take photos and showcase them without having to create a whole layout for them. In 2025, I will offer you a little twist on this. Again, the idea is only to showcase a single photo at a time. You can showcase them as a flashcard, emphasizing the letter (you can use these free cards as a basis to create your own). Of course, if you want a different format, you can use a polaroid frame, a slide, or a playing card (like Susan was doing in 2024). Choose the format you want, and keep it throughout the year. But just make sure to emphasize the first letter! Every 2 weeks, you will be asked to take a picture of something, at home (or around your home) that starts with a specific letter of the alphabet. The goal is just to be on the lookout for ANYTHING that can be photographed. You can stage the object however you want, or just take a picture of it in its natural environment. For example, you can showcase your favorite Mug, or your Pillow, or your Fireplace. You can practice your photography skills if you want, but you can just capture things as they are. Let's just encourage each other. This is a no-pressure thread. And if you skip a letter or two, you can always come back. You know your alphabet so you can easily catch up, whenever you need to. Let's continue with the letter G. It could be your sturdy Glasses, a well-used Grater, your cozy Gas fireplace, or the trusty Garbage can in the kitchen! What will you showcase?
  4. I am providing you with a card with 24 elements that can be included in a layout. You can make a bingo by using any element in a straight line that would make a bingo, whether it is a horizontal line, a vertical line, or a diagonal line. That means that you have to include 5 (or only 4 if you use the FREE in the center) elements in your layout. Of course, you can have more than one bingo if you want to create more than one layout. Once you post your layout, tell us what 4-5 elements from the Bingo card you are using (it is just easier for everyone to check on you! ? ) So, here is your card, for March 2025. If you are a DIAMOND member and want to create those elements, you are more than welcome. All the elements listed have a tutorial inside the membership. If you don't have access to those tutorials, or if you don't want to do anything from scratch, you can also use ready-made elements. There is no rule for or against that. The only rule: have fun and be creative!
  5. @Bee Kelly Great result for your 5th project. I am glad you enjoyed the Bootcamp and the lessons. @Donna Sillia That is quite an interesting font that you used with your insects. I'll have to have a look at that! @Sharla Nice to see the pinked edges. Did you notice that the pinking started slightly off the left edge? You could hide this by moving the orange paper just a few pixels to the left and it will "disappear". @Ann Seeber Yes, that wrapped text is quite annoying when you need to edit it. At least, you had a rasterized version, which would not be affected. I guess, if you need to edit the text, you could always copy the text from the vector layer, and paste it inside a new shape/selection, and then edit it. It is not the most convenient but it is a workable workaround. @Krystyna Nicholls You figured out the solution to your Fill command before I had time to respond to you. And yes, that is a common occurence as I didn't consider mentioning the Match mode when I recorded my tutorial. I guess I should add the information below the video! @Jacques No problem for this Bootcamp. You know where to find the lessons! @Jeni Simpson Great layout. You will end up with a fantastic album! You still have a few days to complete at least 4 projects to be entered in the random draw.
  6. Don't worry about storage. Your projects are always welcome here. And if you ever need or want to do something with PSP, since you already have it, we are always here to help you and answer any question you have.
  7. @Jeni Simpson It is a great idea to keep some similarities from one layout to the next as it could become the start of a whole album or at least a section of an album. @Krystyna Nicholls Is grandpa a chocolatier? I can just imagine how much fun it is for a child to write in chocolate! Great story to capture! Although it was not mentioned in the tutorials, you might want to consider adding "reverse shadows" to your papers to give them even more "volume". You can read more about it in this article. @SharlaYour page is nicely balanced and the colors are great for your photos. @Susan Ewart Those mittens make me smile. I think that my daughter had those mittens that she might have gotten during the Canada Winter Games, held in 2003 right here, in Bathurst. We all served as volunteers for that event. @Ann Seeber That is quite a colorful page, and it goes well with colorful flowers too! Another project will be in your inbox tomorrow!
  8. Do you have a favorite family recipe for pancakes, crêpes, or waffles? Here is the recipe I found for the waffles: https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/20513/classic-waffles/ How about yours?
  9. @Jeni Simpson Interesting to see how you colorized that paper. It fits very well with the rest. @Bee Kelly Hopefully, you will get all that fixed soon. It is frustrating when computers don't cooperate, right? @Donna Sillia That is a great kit you created with wonderful colors! @Ann SeeberI am glad to see you use the stamped alpha, however, if it is stamped, should it have a shadow? @Krystyna Nicholls The way the Rulers show will depend on the size of the image and the zoom factor. That is likely why you don't have exactly the same thing I have (I also use Pixels, not cm). By the way, if you use a paint splash element, that should not have any shadow. In addition, if it overlaps different surfaces, you could try to add a little detail explained in this article.
  10. @Bee Kelly If you need inspiration for a project about yourself, you can check out the various prompts and threads in the Challenges section for the All About Me challenges. @Jacques That is a great painting. I can barely draw a stick figure so you would not see me paint anything! What do you have of mine? @Donna Sillia You might want to add a much larger and blurred shadow to the daisies so it would look like they are 3D,, making sure there is no shadow showing on the top left, where the light should come from. @Anne Lamp Great page. I think you might have forgotten the shadows on this project.
  11. @Bee Kelly Great layout. I am glad you found us to learn about PSP too! @Susan Ewart I just imagine myself with a TV show! How fun would it be? Anyone has any connections I can reach out 😂 @Sharla I had never heard of those sculptures. Oh the things we learn and discover through everyone else's projects! @Jacques I am glad you managed a little project "between two brush strokes". Will you show us your painting when it is done? Keep them coming. Project 3 will be sent out tomorrow!
  12. Freebies are great resources that you can find in many places to build a library of elements, graphics, and tools. Since they are free, they are available to all. For March, how about using these basic stamped letters? They would be great for titles, and you can easily colorize them if this color does not match your work. They are available on this blog post.
  13. @Ann Seeber That train looks quite similar to the Ocean, which runs between Halifax and Montreal. I took that train many times in my early years in New Brunswick. That dome car is great and I once sat there during a thunderstorm. It was spectacular! @Jacques Hi. Did you try to post something that didn't display?
  14. Now, we are seeing some scrapbook projects! It is so much fun to watch! @Jeni Simpson You might consider adding a mat or a paper to include all that interesting information about this photo. It might differ from the tutorial, but you can always add that to the page after the Bootcamp, if you ever want to print or share that layout. @Ann Seeber That is a great layout and you found some interesting supplies to showcase it. @Anja Pelzer If you are creating "on your own", it would get more visibility if you post your projects in the What are you working on? thread. @Jacques I am a little confused by your projects. Are they related to the Bootcamp lessons? Is that Project 1 with an angled strip instead of a vertical? @Sharla Simple yet very elegant! @Donna Sillia Did you resize the bones confetti somehow? They look somewhat distorted to me. Is it possible? @Anne Lamp Those are really cute birds. Very appropriate for the theme!
  15. And if you want a very traditional recipe from Quebec (where I am from), here is something that is served at sugar shacks: https://maplefromcanada.ca/recipes/dumplings-in-maple-syrup/ In fact, just about everything served at a sugar shack in Quebec, is cooked or baked in maple syrup: ham, bacon, baked beans, even eggs!
  16. I am sorry I missed my daily feedback. But I will catch up today. @Jeni Simpson It is interesting that you like the tabbed mode. I guess I am more of a scattered kind of user. Even my desk is scattered so untabbed is more familiar for me. Different styles! That looks like a delicious sandwich! @Jacques I have never used the Adjust tab. I actually remove it from the loaded tabs. But it is great that you have it available for your own needs. @Susan Ewart Maybe I should use the Auto-hide on the SOP and the History palette. I use them often when I do scripting, but not when I do scrapooking. Nineth time in this Bootcamp? I also lost track of how many times I hosted that Bootcamp! I love those mittens! I have fun looking at sandwiches and seeing who are the lefties 🙂 And if you are looking for an F-word (that sounds odd!), you can photograph your Fridge before it dies! @Sharla Oh! Someone else who uses a light version of the workspace! For me, the dark interface hurt my eyes. Your sandwich is great. That must have been a lot of work to gather all those ingredients! @Bee Kelly Glad that the solution was simple. As for your sandwich, it looks good. I hope you got some practice in using the basic manipulation tools. Your first project looks great. I think you might have either forgotten or hidden the shadow on the vertical strip of paper and on the sticker on the top left. Did you skip to the project 2 already? Be careful to add shadows to all the elements. @Ann Seeber I see that it does save space to not have the thumbnails. Have you ever tried to have them but smaller? I love imagining you flipping the pages of that magazine. @Donna Sillia It is ALWAYS a good idea to save your workspace. I love your sandwich. You made me realize that I had forgotten to "upgrade" the exercise file for this lesson. I guess it will be for the next Bootcamp! @Anne Lamp I had never heard of a Reuben sandwich! That is a first for me. @Corrie Kinkel You know that you are always welcome to check on this thread, even if you are not registered. We love you! Keep your projects coming!
  17. This is very popular around here. It is a treat for everyone who likes sweets. https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/190467/maple-syrup-taffy/
  18. Do you like maple syrup and what do you use it with? Do you have a favorite recipe using maple syrup? or how about some non-conventional use for it? Let's share.
  19. Can you clarify what is not working? If you have completed the sandwich, you have to save a jpg version to upload it to the forum. It won't take a .pspimage format.
  20. Glad to see everyone joining this Bootcamp. I am happy to see returning participants, @Susan Ewart, @Jeni Simpson, @Ann Seeber, and @Jacques. In addition, we have a newcomer, @Bee Kelly. There are several more who have not posted yet. I know from past Bootcamp, that only a fraction of the registrants do post in the forum, but many still follow the tutorials (I know because of their answers to the survey at the end!). Everyone is welcome to post, ask questions, share tips, and get inspired by everyone else. This is the power of this community. If you know of anyone else who might be interested or curious about this Bootcamp, send them to the registration page. I am sure they would have time to catch up, even if they start a few days later.
  21. Did you register? I don't see your name in the list for this Bootcamp. Either you didn't register, or it had a typo maybe?
  22. Thanks. I fixed it now.
  23. First of all, come and say HI once you register for this Bootcamp. We want to know who else will be there, on our side to cheer everyone up. Everyone started as a beginner, so don't ever compare yourself to others. You will learn one tool at a time, one concept at a time and you will create one project at a time. Everyone will have different photos and possibly different supplies so every project will be different. Once the Bootcamp is started, on March 17th, 2025, you can post your projects in here. Remember to resize your images to about 600 pixels AND save them in jpg format, before uploading them to the gallery (check this tutorial to upload to the gallery) so it won't slow down the site when we have lots of your masterpieces. Try to follow the tutorials at least enough so that we can recognize what lesson you completed. Now, let's get ready! If you missed the registration link or if you found this thread before I announced it (some people are very observant), HERE it is. Share it around if you want. Although this Bootcamp is mostly meant to help beginners, we won't exclude anyone for "excess experience". Some participants are back for a second (or third) round. You are always welcome. Remember that it will be the exact same tutorials so don't be surprised. I am sure you will now do something slightly different than the previous time. Since anyone can follow the whole Bootcamp using the trial version of PaintShop Pro, this is a perfect opportunity for anyone to give it a try and see how they like the program, so share with your friends who MIGHT consider using PaintShop Pro. The 7 tutorials will be spaced out over almost 2 weeks. This should make it easier for participants to follow without feeling stressed (it should never be stressful!). This bootcamp will use PaintShop Pro, and NOT Affinity.
  24. You guessed right. For the Texture Effect to use any texture, unlike the Patterns in the Materials palette, it needs to be saved, and not just open on the workspace.

Let's continue with the letter F. It could be your comfy Floor rug, a well-loved Frying pan, your decorative Flower vase, or the handy Flashlight in your drawer! What will you showcase?
