  2. I now in your side of the world the colder winter weather is beginning, but down under, we are coming in to the warmer weather so I decided to show some of our lovely lifestyle. One is walking along the Glenelg Jetty on a warm evening and another showing some of the beautiful scenery along the Great Ocean Road.

  5. Sue, you've helped me in the past and I want you to keep on doing it. I want you to do you! I'm the one who benefits from it. We don't see the mistakes in our own work. It's like proofreading but for layouts and not words. (unless the words IN the layout are wonky, then it really is proofreading, and I'm probably not making sense). It's 2:15am and I just got home from work, hubby will get up in 15 minutes for work. And I'm back at work in less than 12 hours. I cant wait for Black Friday week to be over.

  7. Just a small X-mas star with a decoration. As most of you know I'm taking the Scripting Course and in this week's lesson we had to use a preset shape and rotate it. Then write a (simple) script using what we had learned in that lesson. For fun I used a star preset shape and when finished with the lesson I thought well that looks like a nice X-mas star. The result from the lesson was quite small because we had to use a 200x200 image. This evening I played a bit with that script and redid it on a 400x400 image. After running the script I placed a decoration on it and I have something to use on cards or whatever related to X-mas. I love it when I can make something with the knowledge I'm getting in this course.

  11. Julie, I feel quite humbled by your generous complimentary words. I sincerely, appreciate and thank you, and others that comment on my work as you do. I am a stickler for detail, even the slightest misalignment shouts out to me, to rectify it. Of course I'm far from perfect, and will often miss things. I don't scrutinize other peoples' work, but some small details will jump out at me, that is when I try to tactfully and without malice make helpful suggestions. I like to think that others would reciprocate.

  17. After trying various things, I decided to complete my calendar pages by making the calendar larger and adding holidays in red and personal dates in blue. Here's an example from January.

  18. I was lucky to be handed down cameras from my parents and grandparents. They were casual photographers, family stuff mostly and my grandfather probably did more than my parents. I have bought a few on my own to add to the collection but like everything else they have gone way up in price lately. I used to be able to pick them up very inexpensively at thrift stores. I have the worst camera on my 8 yr old cell phone (that has no data *GASP*). The newer phones take amazing photo's. They are not great to make large prints from due to the small sensor size. I'm sure that will change in time though. That's also why current cameras have gotten so expensive, less demand as more people use their phones and less buying camera and equipment/accessories. I started collecting because I thought they were interesting looking, in doing the magazine workshop I had to do a little research about them and now I've become interested in learning more about the ones I have.

  19. Day 7 Calendar cover. This cover is to go with my Magazine cover from the Magazine workshop. I added the black frame as my Mag. cover has a red frame. I think I need to fill the black empty (negative?) under the word camera with something and the below the cameras. Some kind of words tying it to the magazine. And of course going back and adding the extra touches to the rest of the Calendar. Carole: once this workshop is over, should we post are finalized calendars in What Are You Working On forum?

  25. And here is my cover with a photo that I intended to use on one of the month's pages where it didn't fit. I had the same problem on the cover but could solve that by using a mask before I pasted it into the coverpage which gave me space to put a title that stayed readable. I tried different backgrounds but this one gave the best result as far as the page-mask is concerned. The title font is the same as I used for the month names: Almond script and the year is Bilderberg. I'm still debating with myself if I shall put the names of the flowers on the pages. The problem is that I know the English common names but most of the flowers I showed are not known here. So the English names won't have a meaning especially so for the intended German speaking recipient. Of course I can use the Latin names, but that won't have much meaning as well. Not all the months are completely finished yet, I will work at bit more on some of them.

  28. I decided to be ambitious and try to complete two calendars: one featuring our Labradoodle Lucy and one focused on Nature. When I was a little girl, my mom signed me up for the children's choir at our church. The very first and only Hymn I learned from the experience was "For the Beauty of the Earth." Still today, it is my favorite church Hymn. The lyrics resonate deep with me because I love the beauty of nature. There is beauty all around us. We live full-time in our motorhome, and I am fortunate to be retired, in good health, and can spend time traveling the United States. Someday, I hope to travel around Canada as well! I love taking pictures, and all of the photos I post are my own. Here are the first three pages of my Nature Calendar set.

  29. The main thing we have always done was get a real tree and decorate that. Last year was the last year for that because it was getting to hard for me to get the lights on. I am sure there will be tears in my eyes when I put up the brand new artificial one this year.
