  3. Here is Vdectors Lesson 5. I am slowly making progressd. The Mountain range in Germany is called Watzman. The Watzmann is a mountain in the Berchtesgaden Alps south of the village of Berchtesgaden. It is the third highest in Germany, and the highest located entirely on German territory. Three main peaks array on a N-S axis along a ridge on the mountain's taller western half: Hocheck, Mittelspitze and Südspitze. This majestic mountain offers hiking, climbing, a glacier & ice fields.

  4. Here is Lesson 6, with different PSP Tubes on a Rectangular shape. I used Carole's Tubes: Gold Rope, Blue Rope, Silver Lined Red Seed Bead String, and Opaque Seed Bead Ivory String Tube. Thank you Carole for these great tubes. This was a lot of fun. Now I will continue to place text on a path around a letter.

  5. I downloaded the freebie template in the creation cassel blog. I started it, but then I did my own thing. I won the border frame brushes a short while back, and hadn't had a chance to use them until this evening. For the large photo of the Yellow warblers I created a watercolour effect. It's background paper is a photo of some trees out back, which I took the other day. Overlay. I created my own date stamp, copying the latest date stamp script in the store.

  7. I've been doing a lot of the Creative Scrap tutorials lately. For the vast majority, I've been following the Detailed Handout so I can listen to music while I'm doing them. For this one, I had to watch the video. As great as the handouts are, sometimes I just need Carole's voice to get the technique into my head. ?

  8. Lab 11d Mod 5: hexagon shape, smudge brush, dictionary copy: All done - (smudge brush was used in the bottom left corner and top right corner. The picture is one generated by me in CFSpark (asked for a cat on a rug by a fireplace) - used the white overlay reduced to 10% and then overlayed one of Susan Ewert's cracked paint overlays with reduced opacity just to give the frosted glass some depth ; the papers are my own. Made several ribbons or paper strips of different hexagons I'll post them also.

  11. That's a great envelope Michele. Over the years I have created a vast majority in template form of the creative scrap and lab tutorials. They are then readily available to edit to suit a project I'm working on. Without having to start from scratch each time. Plus, I have learnt so many techniques that can be used in creating other elements.

  13. First of all, come and say HI if once you register for this workshop. We want to know who else will be there, on our side to inspire us. Remember that it is NOT a contest. Once the workshop is started, on August 21st, you can post your pages, and your stories (if it is too small to read, you can always copy and paste the text, if you want). Remember to resize your image to about 600 pixels before uploading it so it won't slow down the site when we have lots of your masterpieces. If you are using double pages, it might be better to split them in half and post both halves separately, otherwise they will be too small to really see. Now, pack your bag and grab your ticket. Take off will be soon. In case you see this post before it is announced elsewhere, congratulations, you are very observant. If you want to register, here is where you can reserve your seat.

  14. This month, in full summer mode, we are going to work with a "summery" color palette, mostly with blues and greens, for the sky, the waves, and the vegetation. Of course, you might want to add some accents but these colors should be predominant in your project. What will you create? Can you create a project using these colors?

  15. They are.. I used to see them in swarms here on the property. But have noticed a decline in the amount the last year or so. But in their place, I have been seeing more hummingbirds. So the trade off is nice! = )`

  17. I am mostly looking for Themed Blog freebies so I can promote them with how people use them. I might find a way to promote the other free content from inside the membership, but I am starting with the non-membership stuff that anyone can access.

  18. Thanks, Sue. I keep most things I create in pspimage format so I don't have to start from scratch either. It makes our creative life much easier. ?

  23. These delightful interesting bees have consumed a great deal of my time this summer, observing and macro photographing them. Which is very tricky as they are super fast and really tiny. Every year I create more and more bee log tower hotels for them. Drilling hundred of holes in each one to accommodate the residents. This year I had well over a thousand leafcutter bees to home. For those that are interested :The drill bit size is 5mm, with a depth of 2 1/4 inches. Each bee can lay up to 6 eggs. They collect pollen with the " pollen brush" on the underside of their abdomen. Starting at the back of the nesting chamber, the female bee builds a protective leafy wall, which she will pack with a loaf of pollen and nectar (or paste). She then lays a single egg directly on each loaf and seals the chamber with another protective leaf wall. Typically, the females will lay eggs that will become females towards the back of the nest and males near the front. This behavior provides an extra layer of protection for the female eggs.

  24. This was a great challenge, and by that I also mean brain smoking! Somehow it came together, I never really feel I'm in control of the out come, I just go with the flow that seems to evolve in the process. There are some fabulous results being posted and tricks / tips shared. Thank you all. This tells the story of my Sister's grandson having lunch with our Dad, his GG Papa. The request was for tomato soup and crackers which is a favourite for both of them! The papers, tags and graphics are from a DS kit of Jessica Dunn's called Bistro. I overlapped a lot of the rectangles at varying opacities. The inner circle was filed with a paint transfer and shadowed which gave it some texture. The large font is Ravi, and the pointers are Gigi, both in my collection, probably from Creative Fabrica, but I'm not sure.

  25. These pieces were definitely a challenge for me. I like my layouts spare and uncluttered usually. I combined some pieces and doubled up on others. The central circle is white reduced to 10% opacity over the background photo. The top border is the scallop clipped to a lace ribbon. The red borders are strips filled with a red pattern called 5Geometry. I filled the beads with a gradient. The top flower is named AHA-hygge, from my stash. This is my grandson Brad and his girl, Livia back in July at an event.

  26. Sometimes it's fun just to use picture tubes, clip art, and a gradient. The background sky gradient is mine; the grass, trees, rocks, and cloud are from various picture tubes; the flowers are from GoF Designs; the ladies in white are from CF. Oh, and the blanket is a paper that I changed with the Perspective Mode of the Pick Tool. The font is Amastery Script.

  27. Bonnie you did great! This is my contribution and it is showing a couple of photos I took just the other day. When on a weekly walk with a friend, we came along a street that had a row of small trees that had hanging flowers like hop bells and we joked that the trees must be called something like "beech hop" or "hop beech" as the leaves were like beech leaves. We both didn't know those trees and so I looked in the plants-app on my phone to see what it could be. We had a good laugh when I discovered that those trees were really called Hop-Beech; we will never forget that name! For this layout I used my photos, made a ribbon with lace and colored or filled the other elements. All the colors are taken from the photos and some elements are recolored to match. The background is white with a frosted glass overlay (Inky deals) which I have in my stash. Font is Brellos a freebie by CF.

  30. Still playing with vectors. The basic train shape was a preset shape from WmTransport font. I changed it quite a bit. I made Santa several years ago from a PSD tutorial before I really knew how to use the pen tool. The wheels are from Harold's pips font imported as preset shapes. The train tracks are from a vector dash line. I just noticed a few things that I have to tweak.
