  1. There seems to be a problem with this site tonight. Several times I have had to sign in twice. This is my take on the DIY Challenge. All papers are mine, the acorn is from Creative Fabrica.

  2. OMG! The PSP angels are singing! Thank you beyond belief Sue. I have been wanting to do this for a very long time, it's embarrassing. I have been using the magic wand to select the whole image, then feather and I'd see nothing. Well, because obviously there is nothing beyond the edges to feather. These instructions were as advertised...Fool Proof! Thank you again. I am happy camper tonight. Glad to see Mary got into the lesson too.

  3. Sue and Susan. You intrigued me. So I had to try it out. That's a great way to make a mask.

  4. S is for St. Nicholas. Finally getting back to my alphabet challenge from 2022. The font for St. Nicholas is Ballpark. Santa Claus is from Creative Fabrica and his coat was colorized red because my daughter said it looked like a motorcycle jacket. The holly leave and berries are mine from a previous lab as a paint brush (so I colored the berries separately), the poinsetta is a picture tube. The silver glitter paper is from Donna Sills stash that she shared with us earlier this year which I colorized as silver - the red one I colorized wouldn't work here. The font for Santa Claus is Brandish. I think the St. Nicholas statue picture was from Wikipedia. The frame around it I developed with selections, etc.

  5. so, DH Rob (darling husband Rob) and I was out in the backyard and we were looking at what part of the Mountain Ash is dead and what is still alive (that we would keep, because I love it and because it's a bird favorite and part of the squirrel highway to the next yard). I told him about the bug hotel and he was like, no problem. I guess after 35+ yrs together, he just goes with the flow. Gotta love it.

  6. For the background I adapted "Spring landscape with flowers" from Creative fabrica. The Alphabet is one that is on the $1 special (at least it is still there today 5/27) The butterflies are mostly from C F also but some may be from other places. Mostly I just wanted to use that beautiful Alpha.

  7. This is a family history website illustration for a calendar and features the Heart Candies script. The script is simple but seems to run slower the more times it is used in a session (I think that is a PSP memory management issue). The original captions in the script were OK and I made some of those, however, my idea needed different words so I went under the hood into the script and it was so easy to change the words and Save As a new script. This way I made the boys names in blue and the girls names in pink... stereotyping I know but the colours persistently code lines in genealogy! The tray was then made using heart and arrow shapes with a metallic look and heavy Inner Bevel to make it look like blown plastic. This was then turned into a box and the perspective tilted backwards. The box lid, with a ribbon heart on the front, went through a similar process, but was distorted free hand. The card was added using a font that was free via Corel's website this week. Finally, the plush background added. Warm, red and shmaltzy. This image will come up through automated rotation only on 13/14 February on my website www.dowlingfamily.info. Other products used in this image: Plush (for the carpet texture); Preview Box (for the candies box and lid); Brushed Metal (for the tray texture); Ribbon Heart ; Distresses Edge (on the inside of the newspaper frame); Gemstone (used around the logo).

  8. I love all of Cassel's punch brushes, but I just got the new Edge Punches - B - PSP Brushes. I couldn't wait to try them out and I didn't have a project, but I certainly had some fun just playing around!

  9. Maybe, when it was only green, it wouldn't been as nice as it is now! What a fun project to do ?

  10. Hai, Jannette here. I knock on this door to inform you about my absence. Sinds begin in January I had pc trouble. It seemed my Windows password was out of date, indeed it was one from the start of Windows. Another era, another requirement in those days. I have changed a lot of passwords from Microsoft etc. but the windows must have slipped my mind. It was horrible, I couldn't place anything. I saw some of what you made but not even a mark from my side was possible. And even mail from Cassel came in but I couldn't respond to the clicks. Since I fixed that passwords slowly get back to normal Internet traffic. Not everything was down, and my Campus password was recently renewed. So I did not understand at all. I hope now I have them all renewed. I also got warnings that this site possibly is not a safe one. I had to give permission to enter with an extra warning. I discovered too late that there is here a place to introduce myself. so I do now. I'm Jannette Nieuwboer. The last name is translated: Newfarmer. Nieuw is nearby pronounced as the English 'new', and Boer: the b and r are the same as the English but the OE: is pronounced as the "U" in the word 'TOO', I do not hope this puzzle is too difficult. I'm in my 74th year. I live alone, my husband is suffering from Louis's Body Dimension and lives in a care home. I visit him every day so do not have as much time for PSP as I want. In the past iv done a lot of PSP. I work in the 2020 edition as I'm fond of plugins. For now, I will keep this edition. I have a metabolic disorder myself. I get some meds for it but also have to keep a diet. And have to cook everything myself, even baking bread. I eat 85 - 90 % vegan. (I eat eggs, yogurts, and butter. To get my daily portion of protein I eat a lot of lentils and chickpeas too. I v learned to cook them tasty for example chickpeas muffins. lentil pancakes, and lentil pizzas, and from both burgers. See you on campus.

  11. Wow, that looks really nice! It is more colorful than I imagined, maybe because you keep calling it the “green room”, or maybe because I only heard about the spider plant and the Monstera, but I like the flowers a lot.

  12. This is so pretty. Love that plaid! I too had to sign in twice. I wonder if it's from a Windows update.

  14. AWESOME! thank you. This is above and beyond. My heart is singing right now (cover your ears, cant hold a tune so it goes without saying my heart wont be able to either). What tiny but mighty bird this is, just a little puff ball...with attitude. Before I leave the computer I will make the tutorial. tonight I will have my homework done for you. Lucky you, please send rain. I love the rain too. And the smell after the rain is often quite nice.

  17. I used: Word frame, sand texture (text), tape (coloured), and flair button. Plus a lot of other techniques, this was a project I started on the 17th May, thinking I will be able to use elements listed in this Bingo challenge.

  18. Oh Ann, so glad there are others who feel the same as me about lawns. Interestingly where I have been walking in the unmown grass I have created a natural path. Probably all the dandelion seeds blew to my neighbours though, which won't please them!

  19. Susan, I was out walking today and saw a bug hotel near a farmyard so I photographed it for you.

  21. I'm sure my neighbours cringe at my "lawn" it's mostly weeds. Weeds are green, it's look the same to me as when it's mowed. I wont allow pesticides on the lawn that animals go on, I have reluctantly allow ant extermination around the perimeter of the house as I do not like ants in my house, thankfully the "ant garden" where the mound is for the birds is out by far end of the garage in the back yard.

  22. Thank you for the explanation on Bug Hotels , it's really quite interesting. I inadvertently followed your no mow May objective too. I love dandelions and lately have been photographing them. I put a "no-mow" decree on the the backyard (to my husband) and it was gloriously yellow and the seed heads were stunning, until the wind blew them away, and I cut some to photograph (soon to be in a layout). I had also read that bees hibernate in the ground and they need the dandelions as the flowers aren't out early enough. I did not know this. My husband was saying he hasn't seen as many bees on the dandelions as there usually is. How sad is that. This year my tiny garden (I am a terrible a growing things)got a soil refresh and I was lifting up some small paver stones and there was an ant colony. I felt bad so I put the stones back and covered over with the really fine soil/dirt they seem to make . So, they still had their solid roof, then I used the cement pavers to mark the edges of the ant "garden" section and that's where the little brown birds go for their dust bath. They dont like the garden soil but they love whatever it is the ants make. Also the Magpies and Crows will use the ants to eat the mites off them (there's a word for it, but I forget right now).

  23. I think it is done. I ended up having created more "plants" than can fit. I have another hanging plant but I think it would be too much. For the floor, I am still considering adding a carpet, but I think the wood floor looks good on its own.
