I think it's also Art Deco-ish. It is some anniversary for that art movement that they featured on my local news this week. Here's a link to it. Art Deco Turns 100: How Major Museums and Cultural Institutions Are Marking the Milestone

Thank you for this Ann, i cant wait to read this.  I agree it also falls into the Art Deco theme, which I love.  I watch Poirot (David Suchet version) just to see the art deco stuff.  And Miss Fisher's murder mysteries, oh the clothes she wears, so cool.

2 days ago, I mentioned to Carole in a message, that the campus was intermittently slow, it would even take a while to load, after clicking on the bell.  This afternoon, I  had problems  clicking on save, after  editing a comment. The save would not change  to saving.  Some of these issues happened, before the campus finally wouldn't  load for many of us several days ago. Until, that is Carole resolved the issue.

Thank you, that explains it.  I thought it was my system which is fast normally or I thought my internet provider, who just wants more money for less service.  And I'm getting some odd emails today about my so-called Robinhood account.  I just deleted them and never looked since I have no idea what a "robinhood account" even is.

I noticed earlier today that there were a bunch of spam posts on this site that were about "robinhood accounts". Just can't get away from spam... it is everywhere!

Editing to add that a quick google search shows that Robinhood is an online Commission-Free Stock Trading & Investing company based in Menlo Park, California.

Thanks Ann for your post.  I'm always lost. 🙂

Lynda, I am with you...lost.  (which reminds me of the song "We are lost Together" by Blue Rodeo - it's freaking awesome!).

I saw something similar on the telly, which I thought had potential to be used in a page. Anyway, I created my own version.  What would you use it for in a project?  The diamond could be replaced with something else, or  completely removed.  Created using vectors.

Due to the compression, the image isn't going to be the best. So what I have done is posted a png file on the facebook page for download.  I did change it to  gold, which can be changed to suit your needs.

I thought I posted this l/o yesterday, but it didn't show up. It's a rare photo of ME! It was a very cold day a couple of weeks ago at the dog park where my dog-walking friend snapped a pic while I sat, bundled up, to let our dogs roam. Somehow they are missing from the image??? The weather here (SW Ontario) has been variable to put it nicely. Cold, then hot,  and repeat.

Mask and paper textures from Anna Aspnes. The elements are from my stash.

It is the same here in California and I didn’t expected it to be this cold. I am told by many people that last week it was the coldest spell they had for a very long time. I definitely have not enough clothes with me for this type of weather and am wearing many layers with some borrowed sweaters from my daughter. Luckily  it is getting warmer for the rest of this week.

Thanks, now I realize it is not my iPad that is terrible slow and not the WiFi in my daughter’s house which normally is very fast.

Today, the site loaded quickly after so many days of being slow.

Same here.  The campus loaded instantly  when I  checked in this morning, and if I'm  not mistaken, you are an hour  ahead of the UK.

I really noticed the difference in loading today too. In previous days, it was taking 15-20 seconds after I clicked to log in. Signing out was slow too.

I came across this vintage fashion photo quite unexpectedly. And it grabbed my attention. As I did a bit of looking into it, an interesting story of the photographer (Martin Munkasci, a Hungarian) emerged. He was considered daring and risk-taking in his style of photography. I enjoyed looking at some of his fashion work. Made the layout just for fun, b/c the image is such fun.

Let's hope it stays like this. Sometimes it was so slow that I would give up and try again later.

Loving your style, Julie.

Great photo, two feet in the air! I am not going to try this one. 😄

Lab 14 Mod 2. Requirements: ink dot paper - I used a pink paper behind it and used the blend mode Luminance and so the ink dots are pink; Irregular Text Stroke - the title. The font is Arial Black as was suggested. The picture is of my grandmother (mom's mother) taken in 1953 and she was in her 70's (late 70's). It is my favorite snapshot of her - in her kitchen in Upper Michigan - a wood stove which also kept the kitchen warm - and she used an old fashioned iron to iron clothes - it was not electric, but was heated on that old wood stove. I remember also the chickens she kept and would kill one (an old hen) on Saturday and cook it on Sunday - our Sunday dinner. She had 7 children and the middle son stayed home - never married - and took care of her and grandad. the rose at the corner of the picture is one isolated from a group by Creative Fabrica. I see that the ink dots paper doesn't show up so well. I will post the paper separate.
