My theme is a business leisure trip we took in 2023; some photos are mine, and others are from the Internet. Here is Day 1 - Cover. The former Magazine Publisher closed, so I went with a new one and changed the title. π When I first created the cover in 2023, I was inspired by a Travel Magazine I saw online. The tweaks are now based on the same cover. The bar code was created in PSP, following Carole's tutorial, and was already part of the 2023 PSP layout. Fonts: Britannic Bold - Courier New - Brock Script - Blokletters Potlood. Expand WOW Cristina! What a great photo. That's looking like a real Magazine cover. Love the barcode too. 3 2

It will have what's in the issue but the background is still up in the air, as are whether I'll use the frames. I like what others have done with the frames so I'll play around and see. My calendar will be about collections of oddities. The color of the title may change but so far I kind of like the black and maybe even the white on the right. Of course the white will not show the edge of the layout, but you get the picture I'm sure. Expand Everyone is creating wonderful pages, each one inspiring. Susan, I do like the addition of Latin to your title. I took Latin for a year when I was in grammer school. I have recently started adding Latin to some of my pages, somerthing I used to do quite some time ago. What is the Tile font called? It is perfect for the cover. 4 1

I'm blown away at the eyes that move and all the intricate movements they can make. And the machine that drives them is so steampunk looking, very cool. Thanks for the link. it must be surreal to see this up close. 4
Rene Marker Posted February 18 Posted February 18 On 2/18/2025 at 5:13 AM, Susan Ewart said: I love this Rene. Is this Chihuly. The blue frames look really good with this layout Expand No it isn't Chihuly (never heard of it). The museum is for the Boston & Sandwich Glass Company which was in business from 1826 to 1888. It also showcases modern local glassblowers glass artists. Basically it is a historical museum for the town of Sandwich, Massachusetts. 4

These will feature photos from the Sandwich Glass Museum in Sandwich, Massachusetts (on the cape). I will do another one with Affinity on a different subject this afternoon. Expand That looks like the work of Chihuly. He did an outdoor installation featuring works throughout the Fairchild Tropical Gardens in Miami. It was stunning. 5
Rene Marker Posted February 18 Posted February 18 Day 2: PSP file. I've added some papers I made for the Build A Kit workshop in 2024. I also did not use text wrapping since it shuts my program down whenever I use it. Day 2: Affinity file. I rotated the template to fit the photo. I've added papers from a kit (50 States Ohio by Kelly Bangs Creative available at Sweet Shoppe Designs). The font I used does not have a bold option but through a google search I found that you can add an outline in the effects that will make it appear bold. One thing I have noticed when resizing to 600x600, the image is not as sharp as the full size image. I have read complaints about this elsewhere from scrappers that post lots of images for creative team work. They do all say their large images are fine. 3 11
Donna Sillia Posted February 18 Posted February 18 (edited) Day 2 - Rachel and David travelled to Thailand to play in a rugby tournament. The background is from my calendar 2025 workshop, the photo is from David and the mask I used was a grunge mask that I made. The title font is Royal Thailand from CF and the text font is Typefont from CF. Edited February 18 by Donna Sillia 3 11
bina greene Posted February 18 Posted February 18 (edited) Hello @Cassel! Thank you for hosting this workshop! Hello everyone! Such gorgeous layouts here! I am a bit late and brought a little gift to the party, a new series of mine called MAGAzine. The kick off kit is called Janette and available as a freebie herehttps://drive.google.com/file/d/1qd8tP7GNcTO7mm8ciJvSMAMvzDL6DAaH/view?usp=sharing. Ann Seeber Posted February 18 Posted February 18 I have a total of 30 photos in this series so I obviously won't use them all in this small publication. I decided to use just 3 photos on page 2 as one is so wide as to need the full width of the page. This is a 2024 Christmas tour of Port Jervis, NY and the various decor on many homes there. There is really not much else to say about it. I used the same green pattern for the background as I did on the cover. Since the photos are dark I added a white border to each. 1 11
Corrie Kinkel Posted February 18 Posted February 18 Day 2 and I used the whole height of the page for my photo and the mat was just right for the amount of text I wanted keeping it still readable. The background is off white again and the font is Cambia. It is a simple layout, but I changed the color for the important words in the text. I needed the text to tell something about the park, to give more context to my magazine. 3 9

Corrie Kinkel Posted February 18 Posted February 18 Now I understand what Carole meant with her remark and I like that idea. So I changed my cover and at the same time added a barcode, which I already was planning to do. I have some in my stash from earlier magazine challenges. Now my cover is complete, at least I think so.βΊοΈ 4 8
