  1. I went back to a former Year in Review layout and edited it for 2023. I picked out my favorite projects from each month of the year but, because the illustrations are confined to a square format, I didn't include our calendar project from November. The date is a font: Algerian with a gold metallic gradient and an inner bevel.

It should be the same as 2 years ago, although I am making the handouts for the DIAMOND members.

That would be in 2022? Your illustrated examples look different:

Do you think the sequins were too much?

No, not at all, Michele. This is a wonderful sendoff for Christmas!  Love the idea of Santa's belt buckle! I think this is the first time I've see someone other than glamorous women in your Fab Divas layout. Is that a chef?

Merry Christmas All!  This is my husbands company's version of Christmas.  We went out in the evening to photograph the tire tree and snowman.  They had lights but the battery was dead.  I had wanted to try some light painting but the ambient lights from the parking lot was very bright, but I did use my flashlights to fill in the shadows a bit.  Then I darkened it a bit again because I liked it a bit darker instead and lighter.  It's nice to see even a big tire company has the Christmas Spirit.  The font is Klasted from Creative Fabrica. The moon is from the parking lot that night as well. I got the light flare from CF as well.

I wonder if there is a way to make the Santa/Dinosaur arched without distorting it.  Like we do with vectors on a path.  I would have liked a little bit of an arch on them.  I used a Layer Style, outer glow...which I've never used before but I've seen other do it and liked it. I had to use the lowest setting and a lowered opacity too otherwise it's crazy big.

@Ann Seeber   @Susan Ewart No, the one trip I was on where I could have gone into Yellowstone, it was rain/snow that spring and Laurie was experiencing trouble with the altitude, so we skipped it.  However, my mother had been there and had pictures that I have seen, but I don't know where her photo book that has them is.  I had wanted to include her picture of Old Faithful in this layout, but couldn't find that photo book.  I'm going to do Z is for Zoo and do pictures of the Memphis Zoo.  I understand that one of your granddaughters works in the zoo in California.

@Mary Solaas You're right that one of my granddaughters is a zookeeper but it is here on the East Coast, in Lake Ariel, PA. It is called Claws N Paws Animal Park and is really more of a tourist attraction than a true zoo.

  7. Impressive, Carole! I'm sure that will be a hit with the whole family. I think your idea of the watercolor strokes for the background is perfect. I see Staples did an excellent job for you, too. I'm pleased with my calendar for Jackie. Glossy is the way to go!

  8. Today would have been my late hubby Frank's, 83rd birthday, so I created this for him. He's pictured at an outdoor restaurant on the beach at Acapulco, our favorite getaway. The textured background paper is labeled "texture25" and I changed the color to match the photo using the Change to Target tool. The frame is from Marisa Lerin, the punch is cass-CornersA-999-13, and the font is Bremen.

What changes he must've lived through.

Susan, you hit the nail on the head. He was constantly in awe of the changes, especially after WWII. He was very excited about our walk on the moon, etc. ❤️ Having a nostalgia moment here. He's been gone over 40 years now but will always be alive in my heart. 😢

Oh man! Because I know brolly and bumbershoot I'm an old girl? I'm heartbroken Susan. 😇 (But the truth hurts sometimes, right?)

Don't forget, ladies, I started with "bumbershoot," explaining it was from my dad who was born in 1892! He would be the oldster here. 😉

I was born in NJ and lived the first 8 years there

Where in NJ, Mary? I was born in St. Mary's Hospital in Hoboken, though my parents lived in Weehauken. Then we moved to Rutherford, which was on the rail line and convenient for my Dad to get to work.
