There is a beautiful song called "Coat of Many Colors" by Dolly Parton. Released in 1971, the song tells the story of how Parton's mother made her a coat out of rags, inspired by the biblical story of Joseph and his coat of many colors. It's a touching song about love, acceptance, and the value of handmade gifts. I made this layout in 2020.

I looked back in March of 2023 to see what I created for this lesson and was pleasantly surprised to find one of my favorite layouts. We saw him in person at the Hackensack (NJ) Meadowlands racetrack years ago. It was a command performance and, of course, he won. At first, I was annoyed that they had gelded such a magnificent horse but then I learned the reason; he was totally unmanageable when young and the stable hands and jockeys were in mortal danger from him. Even gelded, he was the top money maker of all time. Here is John Henry! I will create something new for this year.

Day 4. Title Font is Better Valentina on which I used Cutout and Inner Bevel. Gold party hat is from PS Janet Kemp, other party hat is by Sheila Reid, the cake is by Marisa Lerrin. I'm not sure where I got the balloons. I have used font on a path many times; I don't know why it fought me this time, but it did. However I won out!
Great layout, Mary, and Happy Birthday! 🎂🥳❤️

Is this the first snow this year?
Yes, it snowed all day Friday. There was a small amount overnight, Thursday into Friday, and then it never stopped. The plows were out but it mostly stuck on the grass and bushes. The roads turned to water immediately. I was so glad to see ANY precipitation since we've been under Fire Watch now for 2 weeks. It hadn't even rained for over a month.

Ann I like your new kitty but the wrapped text is a little bit hard to read in the color you choose on the busy background.
Thanks, Corrie. It is already black so I will change it for something bolder.

That is not what I meant. I need the way to blur someone's face who does not want it on the internet.

Can you tell me how you make the fuzzing out for the discreet portrait photos please?
Yes, I could stand some instruction on that, also.

My clothes dryer had an issue and the repairman came promptly. My unit is a tall double apartment-size washer/dryer in a closet-like space. He tore the walls off the entire unit and made a big mess. He did put it back together but when I went to use it, the stainless circular air grill inside the back of the dryer fell off and thumped around with the motion. I checked it and it seems there were NO screws to hold it in place and none to be found nearby. I wasn't reassured when the same guy came to fix it, but it does now work ok.

I had been playing with Carole's Word-Grid, so I went ahead and used the Lesson One technique on the letters for Hanukkah. The font is Babilonia and the decor is from the internet. I'm not very handy with Picture Tubes and was wishing I could have a confetti in the blue, gold and white of the holiday. The large menorah is the top layer set to Multiply and at 45% opacity.

My canvas was 3600x1900 b/c the photo was horizontal. I am using aA's supplies a lot b/c I can't help myself! I got more of her art with a recent sale she had.
Gosh, I have to get to that package. It's intimidating because there are so many zips!

I did another layout for cemeteries. This one is an early settler burial ground for those early folks who lived along the Thames River in the area of Chatham, Ontario. In 1959, many of the markers had been vandalized or had fallen into the river. So an effort was made to retrieve and rehabilitate them and place them in a row. That's how they stand today. Ontario history of settlement is not that early, 18th or 19th century. Not like Europe or elsewhere.
This cemetery is named for an early family who donated land for burials, as was the custom back then.
Very attractive, Julie. May I ask what size canvas you started with; the proportions here are unusual, but excellent for a horizontal photo. Are you still using aA's supplies? I have yet to tackle unzipping her huge bundle! LOL

He suffers from Louis Body dementia
I'm so sorry to read this, Jannette. At my age, I'm aware that dementia is one of the big fears of aging. Please be kind to yourself as caregiving is very taxing. My husband suffered mini- strokes that gave him some of the same symptoms. I am convinced that nursing homes are best equipped to care for these patients. That is where my Frank ended his days back in 2018. Even with him having 24-hour professional care it was still very stressful for me. Take care.

names have become associated with unpopular behaviours
well, it's Gov. Andrew, the son, not Gov. Mario, who has a taint. Mario was quite popular and retired with his reputation intact. Andrew's problem is that he was raised in an expressive Mediterranean culture that is normally "handsy" with everyone, male or female. Then he ran afoul of the first Trump administration and how Covid was handled. He seems to be rehabilitating his reputation now but, you're right, there is a taint to the Cuomo name but not to the governor the bridge is now named for. Andrew proved to be accessible for our business in the early days of tough rules to avoid exposure but we were able to convince him that there was little chance of exposure sitting in your own car, watching a movie at our drive-in theater. Meanwhile, all other public venues had to close. We were able to get open by May of that year. Normally we open at Easter.

A couple of weeks ago I came along this plant and with the sun on the silvery seedpods the seeds were shining through. I used all the elements in the DIY image but I rearranged them to my liking. Three of the rectangles have a part of the same photo and the fourth has the text about this Honesty or Judaspenning in Dutch. As it is about silver. I colored the leaves in silver with some noise. For a decoration on the 4th rectangle I used cass-Decostitches3 which I was very lucky to win but hadn't used yet due to working on my calendars. The font for the text is Franklin Gothic Book and the background is again made by using some of Anna Aspness goodies. There are some seeds scattered on the background and those are by Sheila Reid.
Beautiful showcase for the money plant, as we call it. My only wish is a different font for the text. This seems unclear (maybe it's my eyes! 👀)

Oops, I forgot. On my First Snow I just duplicated and rasterized the word, adding shadow to that. They were character shapes that I tilted randomly.
