  1. Remember that you can get in touch if you come north too! ?
  2. Hi Helen. I'll have to find another time to go for a coffee with you in the future. Maybe in 2023??
  3. This challenge has had great success in the past so we can continue to have it on a regular basis, don’t you think? Just like those “some assembly required” kits that you can buy for a shelf, a chair, or a picnic table, I am including a 3600×3600 pixels canvas with some shapes. You HAVE to use the shapes in the size and proportions they are. You can move them, rotate them, flip them, and rearrange the layering if you want but you cannot resize them. You need to use ALL the pieces but you can add more if you want. So it is like all the pieces to build a DIY shelf: you cannot change the size of the pieces but you can use them creatively. Obviously, you will want to recolor them or replace them with papers, photos, etc. We just need to be able to recognize the initial shapes. Here is a preview of the shapes involved. Click here to download the layered template. Post your projects in the gallery.
  4. Thanks. I guess it might also depend on the scanner you are using. Also, PNG is lossless so it could be good. Either way, at this point, my husband has scanned so many pictures in the last months, I won't ask him to change!! He would look at me with flame throwers in his eyes! Files saved in .tif format are also said to keep layers, but that does not work with PSP which will flatten them, so I am not sure how well PSP handles those files. Something else to consider, I guess.
  5. What are you doing this week? Do you set resolutions on January 1st? Do you have specific plans for the year? Let's chat.
  6. Yeah. That is why I made some tutorials to guide you all. Review them here. Maybe it will help make it a little simpler?
  7. I think you did a great job. Often, if you make fewer waves, or narrower, it makes it look "simpler".

OK, here are a couple of pointers: - I think that you could add (or add more) shadows on the photos and the blue paper. - I love the goalie in the middle. With a cast shadow, it would make it stand out (pun intended) Will you get it printed for him? If so, make a version with his name instead of a reference to "my grandson". It might be a nice frame to hang in his room!
  9. I saw that challenge and thought of the Mask workshop too!
  10. Great way to use the template differently!
  11. You should get another one, one hour before the start. Unfortunately, we cannot share links, and I don't have "extras". If you don't get anything within the last hour, let me know and i'll contact support
  12. It is the featured freebie for January, on the blog: https://creationcassel.com/blog/freebie-69/
  13. I guess I should also show what I do, when I am not recording videos! In summary: January: my husbnd showing off his new kitchen attire (he loves to cook and bake) February: an accident a few hundred meters from our house torn down an electric pole. Power failure for a few hours March: a little visit to the ER. Nothing serious although concerning for me April: yes, still getting some snow May: a little present sent by someone I have helped with her PSP. Lovely notebook! June: a visit in Ottawa, where I met 3 "colleagues" from Corel July: cookies for Xavier's 2nd birthday (no I didn't make the cookies) August: at my age, first encounter with... lice! September: upgrading the kitchen to add a backsplash but we also have to move one counter by about an inch! October: leaf raking with the grandson November: visit to Montreal and a tour of Illumi December: a little peek-a-boo cat made for Xavier's quiet book.

One photo per month for 2022
  15. Time for a 2023 resolution! ?
  16. All the challenges are there for that reason!
  17. Learning scrapbooking is often done with practice, looking around for inspiration, and trying to recreate projects we admire. Sometimes, we can be inspired by finished projects, but sometimes, we also have to use our imagination to interpret something. This challenge will give you an opportunity to envision something from a “boring” base, and you will have to imagine the end result differently. The sketch is only a written idea, and you can fly with it, modify it, and customize it to fit your vision, your photos, your supplies. This sketch has lots of room to add stories about your photos, or you can focus on the stories instead of the photos. And if you want more information on using sketches, check out this article. Post your project in the gallery.
  18. @mireillethat effect with the mesh in the back is lovely!!
  19. G - Great (don't we all wish for a GREAT year?)
  20. Awe... I see Annie in there! A big loss for our community! That layout is great!
  21. I think you might just want to avoid very small circles where the inside seems smaller than the stroke. Otherwise, it looks fine to me.
  22. It does not look like the thickness is changed. I think it is a relative size, and it is just because the smaller circles LOOK like the edge is thicker. What is it set at? Does it change?

Helen, did you want to get feedback on this or did you want to share it in the "What are you working on?" thread?
  24. First of all, come and say HI once you register for this bootcamp. We want to know who else will be there, on our side to cheer everyone up. Everyone started as a beginner, so don't ever compare yourself to others. You will learn one tool at the time, one concept at the time and you will create one project at the time. Everyone will have different photos and possibly different supplies so every project will be different. Once the Bootcamp is started, on January 16th, 2023, you can post your projects in here. Remember to resize your images to about 600 pixels AND saving in jpg format, before uploading them to the gallery (check this tutorial to upload to the gallery) so it won't slow down the site when we have lots of your masterpieces. Try to follow the tutorials at least enough so that we can recognize what lesson you completed. Now, let's get ready ! If you missed the registration link or if you found this thread before I announce it (some people are very observant), HERE it is. Share it around if you want. Although this Bootcamp is mostly meant to help beginners, we won't exclude anyone for "excess experience". Some participants are back for a second (or third) round. You are always welcome. Remember that it will be the exact same tutorials so don't be surprised. I am sure you will now do something slightly different than the previous time. Since anyone can follow the whole Bootcamp using the trial version of PaintShop Pro, this is a perfect opportunity for anyone to give it a try and see how they like the program, so share with your friends who MIGHT consider using PaintShop Pro. The 7 tutorials will be spaced out over almost 2 weeks. This should make it easier for participants to follow without feeling stressed (it should never be stressful!).
  25. Yes, it was one of those many settings in the backend that was set for admins but not for members. I could not see the difference until Ann pointed it out. ?
