  1. I decided to have a go at the mock up page in the blog. Choosing a photo adding text, and fitting it to the book mockup page was easy enough. I failed to change the colour of the pages, and the back cover , as for some reason it wanted to be the same colour as the spiral, which I colourized green. I wanted the back page to the same brown, with a bit of texture, and the pages to be an off white. I think I'll stick with Carole's spiral tubes.

  2. Playing with the vintage polaroid frame. We are staying in an RV park until our house is finished and this is a sweet dog that belongs to Kim, a fellow camper.

  3. Day 1. In 2017 we went with friends to Innsbruck in Austria with our dogs. Poncho and his brother Pacco, who lives with our friends with another dog, were 1 year old at the time.

  4. Lab 6 Module 8 Experiment 04 Sketch Idea- One Photo Focus This photo is glued to a metal plaque and judging by age of the uncle was taken in the 1920's. I used a scanner to get it into the computer. The question I most receive is what the white thing? It is a lace cuff used to keep the dress clean in those days.

  8. I agree. That spread is really, really great, Ann! I signed up, but I’m not sure how far I’ll make it. Maybe I’ll make huge layouts on very small (short and close to home) trips. I do have a question: What should we do if we see a grammatical or spelling error in a LO by an English-speaking participant? Do we point it out or let it go? The reason I ask is because a number of people confused its and it's in past workshops and I'd hate if they had their projects printed. It's is short for it is only; it does not denote possessiveness. (For the possessive, it's its. hahaha.)

  9. Thanks...pretty exciting. We've been in the same house in Crystal Lake for 34 years. Time to get rid of stairs and be closer to our son.

  10. This is beautiful, Sue. The edge border frame brushes are gorgeous. I wonder if they’re intuitive or if you are super-skilled at using them, and I’d be wondering if I bought the wrong ones because I couldn’t get mine to look like that! Mary, that cat is perfection! I LOVE it! Is that another CF Spark? If so, it is a winner!

  11. I have all of Carole's edge and corner punch brushes. They an an invaluable asset to any layout.

  12. I've been just playing around until the Travel Challenge starts tomorrow. Couldn't think of how I wanted to display my CFSpark Andy Warhol Cat and then I started playing around with my abstract paper I created from another CFSpark pattern I created and the hexagon shapes from the last lab requirements and came up with this kind of abstract layout for the cat. As Annie Tobin used to say - enjoy. I've been thinking about her lately, too.

  13. Daughter Laurey and granddaughter Jackie flew today to Toronto, Canada, for a 4 day vacation. I insisted they send lots of photos so I can use that for my travel layout. I told them I already have a few basic shots...

  14. I'm in. I have enjoyed doing a Travel Tale in the past and once I had exhausted my personal travels I decided to make fantasy travel pages. Last time I "went" to Botswana, in Southern Africa, because I'm a fan of the book series The No 1 Ladies Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith which is set in that country and I always wanted to experience it IRL. I need to decide where I'm traveling to next but there's still time between now and Aug 21. Here is an example of my work:

  15. First of all, come and say HI if once you register for this workshop. We want to know who else will be there, on our side to inspire us. Remember that it is NOT a contest. Once the workshop is started, on August 21st, you can post your pages, and your stories (if it is too small to read, you can always copy and paste the text, if you want). Remember to resize your image to about 600 pixels before uploading it so it won't slow down the site when we have lots of your masterpieces. If you are using double pages, it might be better to split them in half and post both halves separately, otherwise they will be too small to really see. Now, pack your bag and grab your ticket. Take off will be soon. In case you see this post before it is announced elsewhere, congratulations, you are very observant. If you want to register, here is where you can reserve your seat.

  16. i will not probably participate in this challenge but I have been tried to play with a very, very simple mockup. I used a free template and a shot of my friend. He plays guitar. I've played a bit with the photo.

  17. I had an error in one of my layouts in the spelling and I appreciated it being pointed out to me. If one is going to have their layouts printed, I am sure we appreciate proofreading by knowledgeable people.

  18. Yay! All set. I totally forgot the problem was saving to .psp, even though I had posted the query just an hour before. The bad news is I had used that open as a copy just for this LO (after not using it for 3-6 months) so bad there. Meaning I have to remember this when I get the error message next time, probably next February. At least it's in a good heading (PSP) instead of the Q&A thread which I would never have thought of and it might have scrolled way down, too. Fingers crossed, thanks for posting this caveat, Susan!

  20. You can turn OneDrive completely off but if you use the sync settings, it will turn back on. I had problems with my new laptop not letting me into my dropbox account because it had me going to a dropbox account that was linked to through onedrive. I had to unlink onedrive to get to my dropbox account I've used for a long time. I followed these instructions (found here) : 1. Open OneDrive settings (select OneDrive cloud icon in your notification area, and then select the OneDrive Help and Settings icon, then Settings 2. Go to the Account tab. 3. Select Unlink this PC If those don't work, try the other suggestions at the link I posted above.

  22. What an annoyance. I kind of wonder if PSP really has any way around this issue or if it is purely a Microsoft issue.

  23. I uninstalled OneDrive per Microsoft's instructions , Then I Uninstalled 2023 Ultimate. Next, I Did a full reboot and shutdown. then reinstalled Coral 2023 Ultimate. That OneDrive reappeared and all file locations in Coral's PSP10 and Jasic's 7,8 and 9PSP were back on OneDrive. I have an answer from Corel. If you have OneDrive on your system, perhaps it is conflicting with the file location and changing the location to OneDrive. If OneDrive is configured, the file location will change to OneDrive location automatically. Tomorrow I will try to find a person at Microsoft to learn how to again remove and/or de-configure OneDrive.

  24. This was a quick easy one, once I found photos that had similar colours to the Palette. The norm for me is firstly choosing photos, and not the other way round. the B7b44e was used in the bottom element, where I used a photo, overlay soft light, luckily it retained most of the colour in the palette. The frames around the photos and the text paper is dce6e7. Decorative frame is 9bc0de. Background papers are 40524b and 618a84. Out of bounds, inner bevel on decorative frame, a little noise on the background papers to give a little texture. The little female in the middle photo, (I think she is a juvenile) is in a state of torpor, all fluffed up. I put their feeders out at 5.45am, as I fetch them indoors at night, as the evenings can get quite chilly, and the last thing they want is chilled feed. I gently picked her up, warmed her in my hands for a couple of minutes, placed her back on the perch, next to the feeder. She was fine, ready to start the day after a long feed of sugar water. I don't scimp on the sugar either. Every year the hummers arrive by the 3rd August, they stay for the whole of August before embarking on their long journey south. The feeders stay out until mid September just in case stragglers pass through. They are truly flying gems, with amazing powers of flight and often glittering iridescent colours. To me when they arrive, I know that Autumn is quite literally around the corner.

  25. I downloaded the freebie template in the creation cassel blog. I started it, but then I did my own thing. I won the border frame brushes a short while back, and hadn't had a chance to use them until this evening. For the large photo of the Yellow warblers I created a watercolour effect. It's background paper is a photo of some trees out back, which I took the other day. Overlay. I created my own date stamp, copying the latest date stamp script in the store.

  28. Lab 11d Mod 5: hexagon shape, smudge brush, dictionary copy: All done - (smudge brush was used in the bottom left corner and top right corner. The picture is one generated by me in CFSpark (asked for a cat on a rug by a fireplace) - used the white overlay reduced to 10% and then overlayed one of Susan Ewert's cracked paint overlays with reduced opacity just to give the frosted glass some depth ; the papers are my own. Made several ribbons or paper strips of different hexagons I'll post them also.

  29. Playing with wooden frames and the nested frame. Here's a photo of GG Sonya Anne with her grandfather, Ernie, at the Sussex County Fair (aka NJ State Fair) last week. The font is Childish and the screws are AHA-Somewhere-in-Time.
