  3. I'm still practicing. Liked the teapot tube used by Monique (Monique, you found several tubes I had missed); and so, I took just the teapot from that tube and used it with the customDirectional Script from Cassel and made a new tube out of just the teapot; recolored a copy of my background paper, made just the teacup and saucer into a new png and used it, recolored it, made it hold tea this time, used that smoke brush in Particle shop and Aryaduta font to finish the title.

  4. Happy August! Here is my August Wild Cat Calendar for 2023. The layout is from a template shared by Cassel last fall. The photo of the leopard is by a photographer from Sri Lanka named Andreas Hemb. The photo frame and the title strip are enhanced by the Effects/Sculpture with a leopard pattern. The chipboard camera art and label is from a mega kit called Cambodia by Marisa Lerin. The bottom title font is Yellow Fresh and the Say No brad was created from a brad template from Pixelscrappers. The calendar grid and lines for notes were treated to a gold gradient and I filled the background with a silver gradient. I also posted this full size in our Facebook files.

  5. I used Cassel's WordSlats script for this one. I started with a black background and ran it three different times for each row of text. Copied one on top of the other and moved it to where I wanted the second line of text to be. Using the magic wand selection brush inside the new words, I switched to the original layer and hit delete. Once I hid the second layer, both lines were on one layer. Lather, rinse, repeat for the third row of text. Finally, all three were on one black layer with the words cut out. I used the magic wand again to choose the black and copied/pasted into selection the picture of the woman on the rock. The font is Hobo Std which is what Carole used on her free samples.

  6. Yaaaay! You did it very well. I really like the look and it never occured to me to add that dimension.

  7. When I drew my cup, on another layer I used the elipse to draw the saucer and another layer with another elipse to make the underside of the saucer. The colors of each (no stroke) were different shades of the same color. Of course the underside needed to be shaped and placed so that it really looked like the underside.

  8. I am so sorry for your loss. I will include you in my prayers with hope that as time passes the burden in your heart becomes as light as air.

  9. I finally made it through lesson 7 and before I make more and more changes, here some results. I add the original texture in black I used for the beads. I played a long time with the blend mode.

  10. And part 2 Tea! The picture tubes as they are on the "line" are sometimes a bit apart, because of the spoons ? Tea font is named woodcut ?

  11. The weather is terrible at the moment over here, so my lesson 7 is about that ? The picture tube is from the pSP 12 ultimate content. I had a bit of trouble picking the "star" even when I enlarged my project.

  12. As soon as I saw the theme I thought of my oldest granddaughter and the dramas we had with her when she lost her teeth. At the time of the stories I happened to be visiting my family and I have photos of her when she lost 2 of her teeth. The background paper is Inked Florals DD 10048 which I have in my stash and I blended in the Fairy from Grunge-Forest-Fairy-Junk-Journal. I used the freebie from this theme for the title and thanks to the Vector Workshop I made a shape out of it and filled it with a part of my photo. In this manner I can use my photos without her being recognizable! Two more fairies by Sheila Reid - enchanted purple (and teal) hair fairy on Digital Scrapbook and a gold dust tube.

  13. Thought I would go for an old photo album look for this theme. The photo corners are by Sheila Reid from PixelScrappers. The main font is Tomatoes (free from Fontspace), but I used Lazy Ride (free from FPTFY) for the numbers. I've had the background for so many years that I can't recall where it came from. Given more time, I could have created my own paper with everything I've learned in the Campus. Also don't know where the party pic came from. I've been doing a much better job recording the origin information in the last several years, but the old ones are from who knows where.

  14. Mary, I just noticed your saucer is different brightness. How did you do that? Are your cut and saucer two separate objects. Same with the lip of the saucer, it's lighter. It's very cool.

  15. Julie, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss; doubly because I had a similar situation that kept me frozen on Lesson 1 also. Perhaps, together , we can explore those pesky nodes and enjoy the rest of the lessons in our own time. Take care. ?

  16. Oh Julie, I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Do what you need for you. PSP will always be there, like a friend you dont talk to much, but when you do talk it feels like you've always being by each others side. Take Care. Hugs.

  18. Have you ever seen those children's cameras? Do you know anyone who has one? And now, about the birthday party, here is one layout I made with a few pictures. Let's chat.

  19. Taking Carole's scripting course will help you dive into that. Note Tab's numbered lines would be fine for PSP scripts.

  22. Got it, thank you. Put a green and an orange version on my wish list for the oldest Greats for Christmas.

  23. Probably! ? And I do like popcorn, although I seldom eat them. Thank you for mentioning which tube it is... I didn't know it.

  24. I was using a Canon 7D and now I have the next generation, R7 (mirrorless). I sold all my Silversmithing supplies/tools (last years) and traded that hobby to go back to photography. I didnt have enough for the mirrorless lenses so I bought the adaptor and I'm using the legacy lenses (EF and EF-S). I would love some higher end ones, but they are the same as, or more than the body was. I will work with what I have....until I win the lottery - without buying a ticket. ? What camera are you using? I too feel like I start again with PSP if I leave it too long. Repetition sure is the key (Sue Thomas told me that right when I was starting out) and I need to refer back to that advice way more than I do. I like photography, PSP, paper arts and Color practice....I'm trying to figure out how to make sure I fit it all in so I dont get rusty on any of them. Of course ON1 is a beast, but it's a pretty powerful beast...at least from the tutorials it seems like that.

  26. Thanks Susan, I was sure you would need a little break from ON1 ?. Which camera do you use? I noticed for myself the last months, when I stop PSP completely for a longer time, I start again from scratch, even if I had previously built up my knowledge.

  27. Time goes by so fast, and Xavier has really grown since the last time I saw his picture. I cannot help but think you had as much fun as the little ones at that party!! ?

  29. These are awesome! I love the textures, backgrounds and blend modes. And thank you for the reminder about practicing a lot in the beginning of learning a new concept. I needed to hear that. I have been absent and playing with my camera and new RAW editor that is wildly different (than anything I've used before) and not at all intuitive for me (I knew that going in). Thankfully, they have tutorials with practice photos. Perhaps a break from that and practice Vectors today would be just what I need!

  30. Thanks a lot Carole for this great workshop you've done. Bet you were more than surprised to see so many participants. I'm really happy to have gone through all the lessons. As many among us, I too hope for another WS. May be Vectors will become the new "drug" here in the forum ?. And by the way, thanks again to Ann Seeber to have asked for it ?!

  32. Thanks Monique for this info too, so many interesting PSP tubes you let us discover! Yes, it is not always easy to pick the "star", but practice will do it, not leave large time gaps at the beginning of the learning process.

  33. Thanks Cristina, I had to laugh. I rather thought someone would think it was snow☺️. May be you like popcorn and you were hungry at this tiime?! It's a Corel tube named "stones white", I discovered in PSP 2022.

  36. Carole, those kids are adorable! They are so SHORT! I’ve forgotten that stage! LOL! But soooo cute! The cake is pretty fancy, too! On trend, I think they say now.

  37. My time on PSP is directly related to the weather outside. It’s been really hot here. Poor air quality. Plus some terrible thunder storms with lots of lightning. I’m clearing out files and looking at old freebie Photoshop brushes and now preset shapes ? to either delete or import to PSP. But seeing those Labs all listed, I’ve got a hankering for dividing mine up by photo. So a little picture shows instead of the Adobe reader icon I’ve been going to the Library once a week to get new books in the paper arts, see the DDS (Dewey Decimal System) 740-750s. AND I have perfected the guacamole recipe. Avocados are only 60c each this week at the grocery. Life is Good.

  41. I would love to join in the fun, but for me it will have to wait until the next coding course is on; at least I hope there will be a next! This one comes too early for me as I have upcoming dental surgery and a couple of special birthdays with parties, dinners and even weekends away. I'm still not fully recovered from my hip OP because of all the extra unpleasant things that happened, which I won't repeat now. I hope you all have great fun and learn a lot, maybe tell me and the rest of the scrapbookers what you think of this journey into scripting! Good luck!

  42. I will try it because I have way too many interests and too many drives on which to lose it.

  43. I did NOT fall off the face of the earth; it only felt that way. There was an unexpected loss of someone very close, and it knocked me sideways. Life has a funny way of skewering your plans. I was all set for the Vector Workshop, then BAM! I tried to watch a couple of videos and tried a few shapes, but my concentration was obliterated. But I did check in to see some of the posts that have appeared. So impressive. I have learned a bit more about working with those nodes, but I have to start now from Square 2. I think I have Square (Lesson) 1 under control. I need to get back in the game!
