The challenge will start on May 19th. This challenge will be FREE for everyone, so spread the word.

This workshop will be using PaintShop Pro only (for Affinity users, it will be the following week)

Here is the link again: https://scrapbookcampus.com/workshops/vector

I'm continuing to stick with PSP. I participated last year and really enjoyed it so much. So, I'm looking forward to doing it again this year and maybe try my hand at some new things.

Day 1 using PSP.  A little tip for those that like to create symmetrical vectors.  Use guides or the grid, making sure that the snap is not checked, as it can prevent the nodes from  working as they should. The little girls and I had great fun looking for  and photographing wild flowers, which are in abundance from early spring onwards in the UK.

Glad to see you back and so good to hear you enjoyed the company of your little girls, maybe they will grow into great photographers one day! My granddaughters are a bit older than yours and I was able to do nice things together with them. My youngest takes photography classes in school we had great fun with the exercises she had to do for homework. So how knows ..........

Time goes by far to quickly when you are enjoying yourself. Saying that we crammed  so much in such a short time. As they get older they become more inquisitive  about anything and everything. They enjoy taking photos with the cameras, which aren't  toys I  got  gor them for Xmas. Ffion, being older takes the time to focus on her subjects before clicking. Never a dull moment, when around them.

Not sure where to post this hopefully someone will put it in the right place. Here is the result of my heart and arrow, it took a lot of zooming in and out to connect to the nodes but finally managed  it. Gave the white wavey shape a texture and added text to fit to path, flower is from digital scapbooking Maris Lerin. The arrow I just played around with the nodes and filled the shapes with a pattern.Day1heartandarrow.jpg.913add8a107fe119548288f345cd1c5e.jpg

Well, I am joining again because no matter how much I know about vectors there always seems to be something where I say why won't this work. I am using psp sometimes and learning affinity because I need publisher to replace MS Publisher and with suite you also get access to all platforms. I spent a month with only remote access to my computer and had to learn how to use an ipad. I also wanted an ipad to do a few other things and to be a drawing tablet.

Vector Workshop 2025
Day 1
I decided to do both workshops, PSP and Affinity.
Any results here will be PaintShop Pro.
I used AlienSkin EyeCandy Impact 5, Bevel on a red heart,

heart_464.jpg.646da7de861fd954e6f883ff4510f21c.jpg

and on the arrow, I chose a blue and white stripe pattern at a 90 degree angle.
I resized to 600 pixels, then duplicated the vector layer, converted to a raster layer, and changed the stripes on that layer to an angle of 359 degrees, and reduced from 250% to 100%, then moved it down a bit to create a 3D effect.

I am glad to see all your participation.

@Jacques This week (and this thread) will be for the PSP projects. The Affinity ones will be next week (and in a different thread). Keeping the two separated will help when someone has questions or issues to be addressed.

@Sue Thomas Great tip to use the guides without snapping. I agree that snapping can sometimes get in the way.

@gwen jewitt I had to move your post to this thread. I am not sure why your image is not showing up. Could you upload it again?

@Donna Sillia You are ahead of the workshop with your tubes along the edges of your heart! 😉

@Cindy Sheets Reviewing lessons in PSP is always good. Some things might have been forgotten, but other times, it is just a matter of getting the processes more automated with practice.

@Jeni Simpson Great way to use your heart and arrow with more effects.

Keep them coming!

I have been looking forward to this workshop.  Vectors always do my head in so I'm hoping to understand them a little better.  I am going to do both PSP and Affinity.

Here is my heart and arrow in PSP.

I used PSP for this Lesson but do look forward to also using Affinity.  I love the Vector workshops because I always learn something else each time I join in.

This is not the best image, but I did learn that I had the option to make the Vector item a Raster Laying if required by placing a tick the "Create On Vector" box.  I never realized that before.

I almost registered for this PSP Workshop, too, but I decided not to due to a lack of time. Most probably the next one.

However, I enjoy seeing what everyone is up to. 😊

Day 2 I don't know why but I failed to add the green vector tag in the layout.  I used the technique demonstrated in  the vector masterclass, for the portrait tag.  I can't remember if was  the first one or the more vectors masterclass, as there is 2 of them.  All the photos which I will be showcasing are macro photos, taken either in Wales or Cornwall. Did you know that there are 37 species of  cranesbill geranium in the UK? 🙂   Each and every flower  is teeny tiny, exquisitly delicate and perfect. My little girls and I got to see what the naked eye can not.

Day 1: I used Affinity for these shapes. I didn't sign up for the Affinity vector workshop for next week because I will be on vacation. I was happy to see the Affinity lessons along with the PSP lessons.

Those are fabulous. I've  dabbled with Affinity, already  I'm  finding many techniques are quicker and much more user friendly than PSP. I'm  looking forward to next week's workshop. I'm  one of those who learn by  repetition.

Cristina that is why I pass one this one too, because I'm making a photo album from my trip and want to have that finished before I do something else! Besides that my husband is glad I'm back and also we have some things to attent to. I will join the one for Affinity, by then I hopefully have more time.

The plan is to showcase even more wild flowers  in the Affinity workshop. Using what  I have  learnt in the template workshop and the start here workshop, along with  vectors.  So far I'm  enjoying Affinity.

@Cassel After saving in ".PspShape" files, is it possible to make modifications and/or add new shapes?
