This was a memorial statue in front of the Cary, Illinois Fire Station that caught my eye on my annual visit to my cousin. The lab module called for a newspaper paper and a line pattern: circles, straight lines and dots. The fire truck is a watercolor from Free Clip Art. The Fire Station logo is also from Free Clip Art. Expand I just watched these tutorials. Isn't that lined paper pattern fabulous? It sure was a surprise how it turns out from what the tile is like. I love yours, you did a great job. Your newspaper looks really good. 3 1
Suzy Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Is anybody doing the "make a free font of your very own" on Creative Fabrica? You do NOT have to be a member or have a subscription to do this. It is free until March 15 (Sometime in March). https://studio.creativefabrica.com/font-generator So far, they need some tweaking, and the button is there so if one letter is thinner than the rest, for example, you can "regenerate" just that one letter". Oddly, I had a need for a "Dr. Seuss" style font and got one about the 4th time I tried. (close to Dr Seuss, and by that I mean only slightly close, LOL!) You can fix, download or discard any font you generate. And as far as I can tell the "prompt" is worthless, as is the distinction between the types of fonts Decorative, Fancy and Display. Or maybe i just don't understand the subtle differences between them. Anyway I think a lot of you would enjoy it - and you'll get some fonts out of the deal too. One word of suggestion - take a screen shot of your font, and download the ttf file to a directory you made -- "Suzy CF AI Fonts" is my directory. My font is this: "Suzy Decor. Looks Seuss-ish" plus the screen shot.jpg so you have a record of what you've done. That .jpg will be your "receipt" that you made it yourself and it's your AI original. Create custom fonts effortlessly with the AI-powered Font Generator—the first of its kind! Skip the long font creation process and generate unique, high-quality fonts in just a few clicks. START FOR FREE Here’s why Font Generator is a game changer: ✅ Personalized & Exclusive: Generate one-of-a-kind fonts and modify every glyph to perfection. ✅ Fast & Effortless: No more time-consuming font creation—get instant results with AI! ✅ Yours to Keep: Download your fonts instantly in TTF format or use them in Studio—for any personal and commercial projects. ✅ Free to Use: Skip the expensive software and font licenses—this tool makes custom fonts accessible to all. 4 1

Donna Sillia Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Carole recently mentioned actions for PSE. I used one yesterday along with styles for the heart. I found it difficult and had to follow a video that was fortunately linked to the instructions. Carole, I downloaded the action from CF; it is called "Digital Art." One thing that I didn't like was that the graphic couldn't be detached from the background. Also, it is not editable in PSE. 1 6

Expand When I was able to use Photoshop, I could edit the actions (minimally) by stopping it at some points or skipping some steps. PSE does not give that option at all. I also found that some steps can't be executed in PSE, so the end result might be different. So, since I can run actions in PSE, I'll use it as needed, but for me, it is just to analyze how they work, so I can then try something similar in a script in PSP. 4

Cristina Posted February 15 Posted February 15 This week, I've been watching tutorials on both Affinity and PSE. I have been watching PSE tutorials and nothing comes close to the bootcamp. Nothing seems to be as progressive in start to finish learning. I have been watching the labs because I havent had time to use PSP lately and I cant believe how much I'm learning just from watching small tutorials. Some techniques are used often and I'm finding that I'm guessing (some times right) what comes next in a technique. I just watched one where the cut out was used but only one part of it (fishing floater) where I thought the cut out always had to have the two parts, so that's cool to see how a tool can be used in different ways. I am looking forward to getting back to the Labs. It's hard to fit it all in. Edited February 15 by Susan Ewart 2
