Mary Solaas Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Back to the labs. Lab 13 Mod 6. Using a dot pattern (small dot) I made a paper and several ribbons. I am using the paper for this layout. The other element to make was a rustic wood frame which I used to showcase one picture (my great grandchild who lives in West Virginia. The other pictures are from my home; however, the dog is Murphy, my daughter's dog. I used a texture on the dark blue background paper (a woven fabric weave that I had made some time ago. The font is Pristina. I made a mask for the pictures on the side to resemble a snowflake and filled in with snowflakes in a light grey color so that where they are in the mask is less opaque. Oh well. 9

Mary Solaas Posted January 15 Posted January 15 This is my take on Cass-MultiFramesCollage1-Sample. the pictures were taken on 2 separate trips to the Gulf Beach. the background paper is one inspired by Ann Seeber some years ago as I had never used the Wave tool before (lots of fun and I have made several wavy background papers). The font (script) is Adventure Island Script Bold. I innerbevelled it. The F, B, and the collage are from my Beach Kit. 2 8

Mary Solaas Posted January 16 Posted January 16 I've just been playing around all day today (not much else accomplished). There was a random line design on a box of Kleenex that intrigued me. I finally accomplished 2 patterns and used them in papers. So, here are the papers. 2 2 4

Julie Magerka Posted January 16 Posted January 16 I haven't been able to settle on anything since the holiday period. I work on something; set it aside; try something else; set that aside; and repeat. But a good friend's mother (whom I've known since I was a kid) just turned 100, so I had to do something! This is what I ended up with. She liked it. 1 9

It's interesting how the ideas flow and how I started the layout differ from how it ended up, even more so with so many months in between. At first, I considered creating the cutouts across the whole page width, but then I decided to use only the title width. That led me to add an Interlaced Rope to practice this, too. I also considered having a Lifted Shadow, but then I concluded that was enough. 😄 Otherwise, I would never finish the layout, as I still have the Affinity Bootcamp, and I'm still learning PSE2025. But it's great to work with PSP, where I know where all the tools, effects, etc. are! Edited January 17 by Cristina 2

I liked the expression she used. lol I guess everybody has this "creative burnout" once in a while. 🙂 Expand That is quite normal for scrapbookers. I've gone through phases where I don't scrap much at all. Quite often other things going on in my life become the focus and scrapbooking takes a back seat to those life things going on. But I will get my "mojo" back due to a challenge or some other inspiration later on and off I go. The other thing for me is when a layout isn't coming together, I just do a basic page and call it done. Then move on, quite often doing multiple basic pages. Eventually the creative part will come back maybe because of the photo(s) I've chosen to scrap. 9
