If you have been collecting a lot of fonts or purchasing bundles, you are likely to have hundreds if not thousands of fonts. Going through that many fonts when you are looking only for one or two is far from efficient. In a previous article, we looked at the suggested organization for your fonts, but in the end, HOW will you do that?
Dingbat fonts can be a lot of fun to use and very versatile. Some dingbats will have symbols, others will have designs and even some elaborate pictures. You can have dingbats that will create frames, faces, flowers, and much more. Since dingbats do not display the standard alphanumerical, it can be a bit challenging to know where is that rose design, or that round frame. Other than typing all the keys on your keyboard and seeing what appears, there is a better way. Although most dingbat fonts don't come with a cheat sheet, it is fairly easy to make one yourself.
It is still the beginning of the year and maybe you are the kind of person who likes to plan, or journal, or just have a fun booklet for anything you need to put in writing. Of course, you can buy a variety of planners and diaries but how about making your own? Using basic supplies in Paintshop Pro, you can make something simple, but, you always have the option to add more details and embellishments if your feel like it by using digital scrapbooking elements too.
Many graphic artists, scrapbookers, and crafters are font-aholic. They love getting those fun, interesting, and different fonts. They collect them by the hundreds, and maybe by the thousands. Fonts are used, typically, to transpose the characters from the keyboard to the monitor (and into whatever program) so you can read a message. Even though dingbats fall in the "font" category because they are associated with keyboard keys, they are not characters that will make a legible text: they are designs of various kinds.
