We still follow Daylight Saving Time here in NY. I wish the world would just stop or, at least, do it on the same day. Now that I'm retired, it doesn't affect me, but I always hated it. I remember when my daughter was little, she couldn't understand why she had to go to bed when it was still light out. 🙃

Michele, This post just came in as an email attached to the topic: March Freebie thread.?? When I clicked on it, your post was not there, because, of course, it was HERE. 😜

  2. We turned our clocks ahead an hour this past Saturday night/Sunday morning. I was grateful that all my devices changed automatically, and I only had a few to adjust manually. My own brain has not totally adjusted yet and neither have my creatures who depend on me for meals. I looked in my stash for something about Time and found this...

Bina, I love your layouts but unfortunately, the text is too small to read in this format. Can you post the text separately, in a larger version, as I'd love to read it. Thanks! 🧐

Rice pudding, one of my favourite puddings, served either hot or cold. I make a rice pudding once a week. Traditionally  made with all milk, and pearle rice, in other words pudding rice. I love the skin, which is flavoured with nutmeg.

    Speaking of rice pudding, it is now in the news via Semafor today;

Hi all, my workspace only offers 'Photography' or 'Essentials' (as I am on PSP 23) - which one should I choose for this bootcamp?

I have gone for mid grey with white background for the workspace.

My photo is from a recent week in Morocco; not sure what to expect so not sure what other photos I will use, but I took plenty!!!

Wow, those colors are fabulous! Can't wait to see more... 😉

  6. Here is my Week Ten, featuring a Photopolymer Etching by my daughter, Debbie Lennox, of her Big River Farm in Springtime that I converted to Grayscale just to see how that would work. The original is in tones of brown. The font is now Cardigan Script.

  7. I made a screenshot of my workspace. You'll notice I don't use thumbnails in my layer palette. Also, be sure to UNCHECK TABBED DOCUMENTS in the WINDOW menu at the top.

The photo I've included is of a Viking River Cruise in Europe and I'm planning on documenting a Fantasy Travel Layout using their stock photos.

Ann you did what I did to get the slipped in look! I hope you don't mind me saying so but shouldn't the black shadow line on the left side of the photo be on the right side. The shadow on your title is to the right with the light coming from the left.

Oh, you just gave me a wake-up-call. I ROTATED the photo area! That's why it's wrong. *slaps forehead* 😉

  9. These photos showed up in The Hudson Valley in Pictures yesterday and I couldn't resist as I'm related to Louis Bevier through my father, Harold Terwilliger. His grandfather was married to Sara Bevier, a great-granddaughter of Louis. I've never been to Huguenot Street but a trip is planned! My "template" was just a .jpg so it took some maneuvering to create the "slipped-in" look. Thank goodness for promoted layers! I had to stick with the plain background because of that so I did a colorization and added a texture. The title font is Belisha. I created the brad from a piece of Huguenot art and one in my stash.

Fabulous pages @Ann Seber. TFS!!! 💕

I have a sort of culinary book going at the moment, Graphics myself, fonts Pacifico and Lato. see here https://imgur.com/a/xL7mbzw

The second one is from a daily project with papers I made for a designer challenge at DS, the 3rd one is from an album on the Paris arrondissements (here the 4th), and the last one is from my recent trip to Barcelona..

I like all your creations, Bina. I will hop on a flight to Europe right away! I particularly liked the mixed media on the Barcelona page. The culinary is very readable, even with small type. Ah, someday, Paris! ❤️

I never played board games much.  My step sister and  step brother were 6 & 7 years older than me and there were no other kids close.  My family played Canasta and Pinochle. I know the basics in Pinochle but never could get interested enough to get any good at it... When my sister was expecting, she and her husband lived with us for a while..  She wanted to play Canasta all the time.  A lot of times I was the only one there and not busy.  Good grief, I got so tired of  playing it, I couldn't stand the thought of playing cards  for a long time.  Oh well she did have a fine baby boy and he did not come out with hearts, spades, diamonds, or clubs all over him, so I guess it all turned out OK.

I went to camp most summers and all we played was Canasta. It did get a bit boring after a while. My more recent card game of German Pinochle is lightning fast and exciting. Wish I could find some players now. Most of the ones we played with are now gone.

  12. Speaking of board games, we played Monopoly a lot and Scrabble. We lived in a two-family house in Rutherford, NJ, (photo added) and the woman from upstairs would come down and play Scrabble with my mom every evening, especially if my dad was watching a baseball game on the kitchen TV. I ended up marrying her son, Jack, who was the father of my two daughters. He passed away in 1992, just before the birth of my granddaughter, Jackie.

  13. Oh, it has been a while since I played but I used to love a game called German Pinochle. I played with my husband and various other players at a tavern in Pine Island, a nearby farming community, when we lived in Warwick, NY. We played for money, $1.00 and $2.00 per game. I see Carol's game link has Pinochle, which I also played. My parents played regularly with friends from church, and it was something I watched with interest when I was a child. My husbands both played Poker for money, but I never had the nerve to join. When my late husband, Frank, and I would travel to movie theater owner conventions around the country, we would end up at casinos in Atlantic City, NJ, or Las Vegas, NV. One time in Vegas, I was watching a game of Texas Hold'em (a poker variation) when the celebrity, Steve Martin, strolled over and joined the game! Wow, he was very handsome and charming. If you are not familiar with him, I've attached a photo. He was known as a comedian on Saturday Night Live and in films, such as "Roxanne," where he played a version of Cyrano DeBergerac. Lately, he is the creator and star of the hit show "Only Murders in the Building" with Martin Short, which is available in the US on Apple+. He is also an artist and talented banjo player.

C = Cream in all its different types and forms

This reminds me - I came home from a restaurant with a doggie bag which included some "Gorgonzola cream." It was topping for an appetizer of grilled Portobello mushrooms, caramelized onions, chopped tomato and large-leaf spinach. So the leftovers are now finished but not the "cream." What can I use it on, other than the same dish I now have had twice! lol

Arctic Roll.   A British favourite.   I still make them.

As the name was unfamiliar to this 'merican, I hunted up some info. Reminds me of the ice cream cake roll I used to love as a child: vanilla ice cream with chocolate sponge cake wrap. Here's the illustration for the Arctic Roll from Getty Images.

  16. I came across this collage template from Corel this morning. I recall it being offered in the past but this time I snagged it to showcase this rainbow waterfall photo from my Hudson Valley in Pictures gallery group by Bruce Edwards from last week. Photo taken off-trail in Woodstock, NY. I played with the layout by centering the original photo to show through the four center openings and then clipping pieces off the leftover photo parts to fill the four corner spots. Definitely "rainbow-ish." I also posted this in the February Rainbow Challenge.
