    Day 11 Project 5

Travelling along the lakeside highway from Queenstown, we chanced upon this scene.

Sheep were being moved from one area of the farm to another. This happens often in country areas.

This is so nice. I love the "O" sheep and leaving the windshield wipers in the photo is a great touch!

  2. Final Bootcamp project - featuring one of my new great-grandsons. He'll explain...

Fonts used are Cooper Black and Century Gothic - old standbys...

All elements are mine from my own kit...

  3. Here is my Week Eleven - I count Sundays so I'm a little behind here. The font is Cardigan Script. This is just a quote about Time. Sue Ewart is the expert on that topic; she will have a Mega Kit for it by the end! 😁

A combination of another photo from the Heemtuin with the split frame technique that Carole demonstrated in the Q&A from las Sunday. This is my first try of it and although it isn't perfect yet I wanted to show what I'm doing. I will practice a bit more, it is a bit different from the masks I normally do, at least I had fun making this.

    Split Frame-600.jpg

Gorgeous, Corrie! I must go look at the video for the Q & A as I forget all the steps and this effect is really stunning!

Over the hump: page four of my seven stocks project. On peanut butter. Any fans here? Supplies myself, fonts again Pacifico on title and Lato on body.

By now I think I need an extra double page spread before the initial page one on canned tuna and move the first part of the text on page one to that preceding page...( questions...) project.

Bina, your pages are very handsome. What are you using for your AI generator?

    Project 4 Day 9

Well, that is something new I learned today, making that pinking shears effect, thank you, Carole.

A few years ago, I was at an afternoon tea at Ohinetahi in Governors Bay, near Christchurch.

I arrived home with several pictures of honey bees I'd seen hovering around the flower beds.

I decided to use them in this layout.

Supplies used were from Jessica Dunn, Rachel Martin, Marisa Lerin, and Violet Irisovna.

I see you used a loopy stitching element to show the bee's flight path. What a good idea! Thank you!!

  7. Scrap Bootcamp-Day 9-Project #4. I rotated the photos as I had horizontal ones from my daughter's ski vacation in Colorado last week. Aaron and Deb were visiting her daughter-in-law, Lucy's parents; Magic & Raja's other grandparents. The background is also her photo. The title fonts are Belisha and Birdy. The troll, gem scatters and skis are from my Iceland mega kit.

The folder I  downloaded didn't  include the psp file either. I couldn't work out how to use the jpeg either.  What a relief, as I  thought I  was having a mental block. Especially after seeing what Ann and Corrie had posted.

Sue, I had the same problem but I went ahead with the jpg file and converted it to a template. I also rotated the photo area, which ended  up screwing up my shadows but I didn't realize that until later. It was tricky converting Carole's shadows which created the "slipped in" effect but I did it (even if it turned out sideways! 😉 ) I did download the psp file later but had already done so much work that I was unwilling to start all over again!

Michele, I had the same problem at first but Carole replaced the zip file with one including a layered template. I went and downloaded it again.

I read Corrie's story (and enjoyed it). It reminded me of my own very young childhood. I wasn't a dolly girl (much to my mother's chagrin b/c she loved making outfits for the dolls she bought me). I played with dolls (and later Barbie), but my favourite activity was playing in the open fields in our small village with lots of other kiddies, especially cowboys and Indians (which is not very politically correct anymore.) We all had holsters and fake six-guns and pretended to ride on stalliions and shoot each other! (We all survived and none of us has ever used a gun since.)

Back in the 1950s, early 1960s, TV westerns were very popular on TV. I would watch them with my dad, night after night, when we weren't watching hockey or boxing or Ed Sullivan. (I was a tomboy, can you tell?) According to a bit of research, TV westerns on the three major networks (ABC, NBC, CBS) numbered over a 100 for a period of eleven or twelve years. Because most of our TV channels came from the US, we were a captive audience.

This layout is my attempt to capture those days of B&W TV when I was a cowgirl, with some of the favourites everyone was watching.

Golly, Julie, you beat me to it! My childhood seems to be identical to yours, even in the same era. Fun story, my mom also dearly wanted me to play with dolls while I was outside swinging lassos. She was deeply disturbed when she found my only doll strung up on my bedroom doorknob with its neck in a hangman's noose! In later years when I was less horse crazy, I found the American Girl doll in a store, but she refused to get it for me, afraid I'd repeat my action from years earlier, I guess. 🤠🐎

    Project #3

For this layout I used the kit cpjess-Vintage Blooms (Jessica Dunn) with glitters from my stash which have a color similar to one in my photos. I had to cleanup the photos, after all they are from 2008 and taken indoors. Instead of the glitter outline of a butterfly I used a paint splash from the kit. I have some elements like the butterfly but those didn't looked right on my page. The admission tickets are done with my own script and the font is Berlin.

    Project #3-600.jpg

Beautiful, Corrie! Where is the museum located?

  12. DAY 7 - My fantasy Viking River Cruise. 😉 (For the new members; I"ve done this before with a fantasy trip to Gabarone, Botswana, Africa.) I mostly used the kit Carole offered, True Heart. The gold leaf is from Nellie Bell. The title font is Belisha and the journaling font is Franklin Gothic Medium. This color scheme is a bit of a departure for me as I usually use bright, primary colors or deep tones.

    Hey y'all, I'm here too....I'm just slow.

I have done Bootcamp a couple of times. It is always a good 'refresh' for me.

I will be using 2019. I like a medium gray workspace, and dark gray background.

I don't know what photos I will be using. I had some major surgery Feb 22. When I signed up for Bootcamp, I knew it would be during 'recovery time' for me, but I didn't realize how slow recovery would really be, and how limited I would be physically. I am seeing signs of spring out my window, so I may look for photos of spring to use.

Hi Linda - sending you healing vibes. Glad to see you made it here!

  14. The next Bootcamp layout features one of my favorite little birds. They visit when I'm out filling their feeders and impatiently scold me. Their voice is high-pitched and metallic sounding. They fly back and forth from trees across the street for one seed at a time, making them very busy, indeed. The title font is "itsadzokes01." The side font is "Before the Rainbow." The photo is by Joan Diamond. The cartoon birds are from Dreamstime. The wood flower is from the kit - cpjess-wildwood thicket.

  15. When I was growing up, my father worked on, what at the time was the Erie Railroad. Now it is Amtrak, and he kept his pocket watch on Standard Time as that was the rule for his job. The trains had to run on time! He was Chief Night Dispatcher and most of the traffic he directed was freight.
